Absolutely great reaction! Welcome to the dirty loops rabbit hole. They have set the bar so high with their superb musicianship, yet accessibility to the masses with their hooky choruses. Jonah the keyboard player started singing in his parents church choir when he was 1 years old.

Wonderful reaction! I just love watching someone discover Dirty Loops for the first time and getting completely bowled over. :) They started putting out crazy fusion covers of pop songs back in 2010-11, blew up on youtube and started writing their own songs. Their first album was released in 2014, then an EP in 2019 (I think), and last year a collab album with Cory Wong. They're currently working an a new album that'll hopefully release later this year. If you want to see more of them, you're in for a ride. Every song is different from the other and all of them (and I mean ALL) are of this stellar quality, even the first covers they put up when they still thought what they did was too niche and unsexy for anyone to want to listen to (boy, where they ever wrong about that!). Some other songs I'd recommend, to start out, are the other songs from the Phoenix EP (World on Fire, Breakdown, Work Shit Out, and Rock You), and Follow the Light from the album Turbo (collab with Cory Wong and his horn section). Trust me, you will not be sorry for going down this particular rabbit hole. :D

They're playing with us.... as Fiddlestix said, Jonah was doing ALL of the singing, and while I'd be surprised if Henrik (bass player) didn't know his way around a drum set, he wasn't playing (or singing) here. Their musicality is out of this world, but also keep an eye on them for the humor... and always take time to read the credits. Lots of funny stuff snuck in (Jabba the Hut catering?) GREAT reaction, I'll be watching for more.

I saw that you were doing this reaction from a tweet and I had to come subscribe. I should have done it when you did your Silk Sonic reaction, but I'm here now. This is the kind of rabbit hole you'd want to go down. Trust me -- these dudes are the absolute truth. I love that you picked up on the gospel vibes immediately. So much of their stuff gives you that feel. Every song of theirs will give you a different experiences and feelings. I found out about them a year ago and I felt like you: "where have I been?" But now that I'm here, I'm stuck. They've become my favorite and I think you'll get hooked very quickly. I love that you started with this one. It's definitely my favorite of theirs so far. Normally I'd suggest songs. But I'm just gonna say do it all. Doesn't even matter where you go next because, like I said, it's all good stuff. Also, shoutout to Brian. He's a good human I've become cool on this Dirty Loops ride I've been on. He's good people.

Thank you for a delightful reaction. For those of us lucky enough to have been listening to Dirty Loops for a while, one of the little pleasures in life is getting to see someone like yourself get to experience them for the first time. Get to vicariously have that first hit wonder all over again. Really enjoyed how you set things up (never mind when someone replays something notable). Just a really nice experience watching this with you. You've got my sub. Oh one more thing you can react to Dirty Loops with complete confidence. There are no bad Loops songs. Some really fun ones are from when they first came on KZbin doing just amazingly unique covers of famous songs. They're so good they do kind of make them their's. Thanks again and best wishes.

Nina, what a lit reaction! This song is nuts, Dirty Loops and all they’re doing is nuts, Jonah’s voice is nuts, and I can’t wait for you to explore more of their songs! Btw, Jonah did all the vocals and the choir in this song. They burst onto the YT scene with “Hit Me”, another crazy fusion track with insane vocals by Jonah. Their cover of “Thriller” is fire, too. So is “Follow the Light” and “World on Fire”. Subd for more Dirty Loops reactions :) 🙏

It brings me so much joy to watch people react to this song, particularly to people who grew up in the black church, because it is so church-inspired. It just unfolds more and more. The choir sound is unbelievable, whether they had other background vocals or they recorded that themselves. It's incredible.

Girl, are you in for a treat... This is one rich rabbit hole. I've never heard anything like it.

Apart from the fact, that they are masters in their field, the overall smiling, joking and yes, uplifting attitude from them, is something we need in our society. All too many musicians seem to want to look tough and some menacing. We have plenty of that in our news space.

The "choir" is Jonah and as you mentioned/speculated it's several layers of his voice. These guys are awesome and towards the end of the month i'm gonna see them live! Just like in America it's not that unsual for singer/musicians to start singing/playing in their local church.
