71 year old BTS Army here. JK competed on S Korea's version of "Masked Singer". He wore a fencing costume and he was 19 or 20 years old I believe. He sang a song by Big Bang called "If You" and he said he did it to promote BTS. He also sang a duet with another contestant (at least I think that is who she was since she was also in costume). His performance is crazy good!!! The video is on YT and I recommend it. Also, JK has taken the American pop scene by storm with his solo career and I am sure Armys have made lots of recommendations for those Billboard megahits and his album "Golden". None of JK's solo releases during the past year are Kpop. They are all American productions and should not be considered Kpop for that reason. Even his dancers are famous American dancer/choreographers. Jungkook is the only Korean involved with his solo work. Two of his solo tracks, "SEVEN" Feat Latto, and his third single release "Standing Next to You", were written and produced by Grammy Award winning Producer of the Year Andrew Watt and a team of notable American/Canadian songwriters Cirkut, Jon Bellion and Ali Tamposi. It was produced by the Canadian producer/songwriter known as Cirkut. "SEVEN" was recorded at Watt's L.A. Studio and the MV was filmed at Universal Studios in L.A. "Standing Next to You" was filmed at an abandoned building in Budapest, Hungary. Andrew Watt has produced albums for Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, the Rolling Stones new album and other notables. The Canadian producer Cirkut also has impressive credits such as producing for "The Weeknd" and others. "Seven" broke streaming records right out of the gate and was followed by another hit "3D" Feat. Jack Harlow. "3D" was co-written by an L.A. based British songwriter/producer David Stewart and others. He co-wrote one of BTS's biggest Billboard #1 Hit 100 hits "Dynamite". The MV was filmed in Jack Harlow's home state of Kentucky. JK threw himself head on into the American pop market because his stated dream was to be "a giant pop star" and he did it!!! P.S. You will be surprised to know that JUNGKOOK is a vocal chameleon with a very refined vocal technique. That song in particular was written and produced by him and uploaded for free to SoundCloud. After much insistence, we managed to get it uploaded to SPOTIFY and now we have it there too. If you have not yet listened to JUNGKOOK's new songs on his GOLDEN ALBUM, I invite you to do so. Jungkook wrote this song as a letter to ARMY. It is about his never-ending love for ARMY, and the lyrics show nothing can break his bond with ARMY - even time or distance. 💜 Edit.... I feel the need to add this edit as many people pointed out.. yes, RM helped JK with one of the lines in the song, he was not officially credited, yet it was great to watch the songwriting process that the two of them shared in an episode of BTS in the Soop, I'm sure they all often bounce ideas off each other and help each other with lines... there was no disrespect aimed at RM in my original comment by not mentioning his input, but it is recognised as a song credited to JK. RM helped him, they were driving in a car to In the Soop, I think and RM and he were just chatting about how to put the moon in the sky and they came up with a few lines. Look at the song list on his album Golden, all the songs from Yes or No in the second half are like this. You found Jungkook (JK), the most talented male vocalist alive today and the most maligned. JK wrote this and other songs, to express his deep appreciation for his fans. He debuted his first solo album, Golden, entirely in English, in November 2023. Its songs express the stages of a relationship, reflecting the ebb and flow of emotions during that relationship. Jungkook has had a surreal relationship with fans, and others, since the group’s debut, when he was age 15. It's on pause now during his current enlistment (age 26). Many fans/publics approve of him, but an equal amount disapprove and vociferously express dislike over his choices. The songs he personally selects for his solo projects give a glimpse inside his internal conflicts over the years. He began a song called Decalcomania, during a particularly low moment, but never finished the song. Most years during the Army anniversary time, FESTA, the guys gift us free songs just for us on SoundCloud. They are always amazing and not for profit just gifts. Now, JK has done a lot of covers over the years, but if u wanna stick with his own music… if u want to focus on his vocals, iHeart Live of ‘Hate You’ is phenomenal. If u want to see how strong of a performer he is, gave a surprise mini concert on the TSX stage in Times Square. Actually, u could probably just search “Jungkook Live” and find too many times he’s performed, from his opening of the World Cup to the last concert he gave fans before enlisting. If it’s the jazz type of sound that is attracting you, V’s entire album is more geared to a jazzy-ish, adult contemporary type style. Jimin seems to steer more toward an R&B sound. The rapline have unique styles; RM is heavy wordplay & poetic, Suga is raw & stylish, Jhope is experimental and sometimes edgy with his music. JK hasn’t really locked into a sound yet, but seems to be leaning more towards traditional pop. Jin hasn’t released enough to be able to determine yet.

Jungkook is my bias and this is my favourite Jungkook solo song. I play it every single day. It’s such a beautiful sounding song but also lyrically. JK knows how to serenade ARMY. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 I haven’t read all the comments so maybe someone else has informed you but Jungkook wrote and produced this song completely by himself. It was a gift to ARMY for FESTA (BTS birthday event) in 2020. He wrote it about missing ARMY as they had to cancel their world tour due to Covid-19. He was feeling it just as much as us!

6:25 in their anthology album Proof they have the acapella version of still with you!! the album is composed of 3 cd’s and that version is in CD 3, which sadly is the only one that isn’t available in streaming platforms but just on the physical album (but lots of army have uploaded it on yt so you can listen there though!)

When JK released this song during the pandemic, I had it on the loop for days. He expressed my loneliness and longing to see my friends and family. To this day, my eyes can't stay dry whenever I hear this song. JK knows how to touch our soul with his words and voice. Thank you for your executive decision to react to this song. Excellent pick Jungkook has a solo album out called Golden, it’s all in English you should check it out - he sang a couple songs live on the TSX stage in NY, must watch also his MV for Standing next to you, there are many video’s of behind the scenes as well AND he did a remix of this song with Usher that’s fantastic too. You will find all kinds of these video’s on BangtanTV here on you tube also just a helpful hint, you can look up the label companies for groups - HYBE labels has several K pop groups BTS being one as well as TXT, Seventeen and more For Stray kids it JYP official I believe also these groups have songs in Japanese as well so you may see the same song, but one is in Japanese while the other is in Korean.
