4:19 The newly born metal head pauses for a second, taking in the carnage and unholiness around him. He is slightly overwhelmed by the ripping guitars, filthy drumming and harsh lyrics. Analysing what is in front of him, he finds himself liking it and resonating with it on a level he has never resonated with music before. He carries on as he was, little knowing that he will soon find himself moshing along despite himself. Edit: 5:12 THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING, ALEX!!!

This song hit me HARD as a teenager. My parents were very religious and I got my hands on this CD. It honestly helped shape me and helped me realize I should make my own decisions about my future and not live the life my parents wanted, but live for myself. It might have a negative vibe for a lot of people but it helped me realize who I wanted to be. Also, greatest metal album of all time. Fight me.

The real deal about Corey Taylor the same guy which screams here has two bands Stone Sour and Slipknot. Stone Sour a bit smaller but very successful as well and there he sings on his full vocal range chill songs and even country. One of the best frontmans in rock history. Btw it's not the wildest screams by Corey, it's 1st album, I'd say warm-up, his scream-peak absolutely dominated on IOWA album best examples People=shit/ Disasterpiece/ The Heretic Anthem. Great reaction tho, usually common music fans can't stand scream.

Mostly because they’ve done an awesome job of bringing a fresh feel to each album over the years. You should check out the band Trivium. Heavy band, but not too extreme. Songs in particular: The Sin and The Sentence, Down From The Sky, or Strife.

what the fuck ... Slipknot and Trivium are probably my favorite bands ever... and first off songs like New Abortion, Metabolic, Eeyore and many others are more heavy than Thrown into the Fire. Triviums most heavy song is most likely Pillars of Serpents, Demon and some other stuff like Rain, Upon the Shores and what not. Sever the Hand is heavier than Thrown. But realistically Slipknot is a much darker and more unconventional type of metal where as Triviums music is more on the melodic/anthem style side. And that isnt even true for all their records as their beginnings was just great modern Thrash with Metalcore in it. I cant really tell what was more dominant of the 2 styles. Overall 2 Bands completely different but just from the musical approach Slipknot IS heavier however Trivium never wanted to be the heaviest band but Slipknot on the other especially in their young years were really fucked up dudes coming from shit places with shit families and shit lives. The whole Iowa record is just super brutal although brutalitly also comes from not knowing the song so as you familiarize with the music it will be less heavy to you eventually.
