I've become quite a fan of your reactions Britt. This is Avicii's song and his arrangement was much faster and upbeat. Angelina and Avicii became good friends after her NGT win. Not long after he committed suicide. As usual, AJ completely rearranged it to fit her soulful, loving tribute and respectfully she wore black. Given his departure and her Grandpa's, at such a young age, its no wonder she feels, sings and emotes like a person three times her age.

Angelina transforms Avicii's EDM song for this heart felt tribute. The artistic background by Angelina's grandma, Mery Zamani (this video from her channel). Angelina had only just moved to LA the previous month, the usual artwork decorating the house had not yet arrived. You might notice that the colours generally match the colours of the flowers crown. Angelina worked with Avicii back in 2015, he did a commercial for Volvo, he wanted her to sing in it - the company however thought that such a young girl did not portray the car - but they became friends, with much mutual respect. As for the lyrics - Avicii was telling the story of is rapid rise to fame and the pressures that it put on him. His music is to dance to, not to listen to the story, so, like you, most people will only take in the lyrics from Angelina's rendition. In a strange way, I feel that Angelina at age 12, had a maturity that is hard to comprehend, only now she is learning to be young...

@@stevenhambek846 Where do I begin, this comment comes from a gut feeling, difficult to quantify. Here, age 12, Angelina has persuaded her family to move to the USA. Pushing hard to make an impact, finally aiming to make the big time with AGT the Champions. Just to give an impression, let's go back to 2016, NRK have taken Angelina and her two school friends to a fun fair, she is encouraged to go on the roller coaster, much against her better judgement, the rise to the top is exciting, then suddenly the ride takes a turn and drops suddenly - then comes the highest sustained belt that I have ever heard from her. Back in 2020, Angelina is defeated by the contractual requirements and fails to win AGT, on top of that the pandemic robs her of her concerts. A low point indeed, her beloved grandpa Astar had died quite suddenly. The reality was that she would not conquer the world of music just yet came home to roost. The pause perhaps giving her space to make up a little for her lost childhood, free to take a more relaxed approach, enjoy trying new things. Adele wrote some great songs that she could relate to. Easy on me, in my view, was a perfect message from her, she had made some difficult decisions, it didn't always work out, she had only been a child. Perhaps was time to ease off a little and try to see the world through the eyes of a child. Of course, 2023 should see the launch of the album, the grown up version of Angelina will need to come to the fore once more. Just a more confident, yet still humble, person who is doing her bit to make the world a better place. Sorry for the long story, but you did ask...

In case you did not know, her friend Avicikilled himself.That year was pretty hard for AJ. First a acquaintance of her died the same way, than Avici, and after that, her paternal Grandfather.passed away. In November 2019 her maternal (Japanese) grandpa died, just before AGT. End of 2020 her beloved More-More (Grandmother) Mery Zamany was diagnosed of the same decease. Angelina almost lost her marbels. Avicci wrote this song, though our sweet Angelina certainly worked her magic on it in this magnificent tribute. The first time i saw/heard it I must have played it 20 times back to back. I stepped right in and swam deep. When the tears were done i fell asleep right where i was .. lying on my living room rug. You probably do know the original but you do not recognize. It is Avicii's own song which has currently over 2 billion views on KZbin alone. If you had different video's to it, like the lyrics version, you get to 3 billion views. Angelina slowed it down, stripped it down and added her sadness to it over losing her friend. Her usual chipper tone is replaced by a much sadder one and she starts with a beautiful personal message. All of the sudden you hear the lyrics to the song and with this arrangement and performance, it almost becomes a farewell note where Avicii explains the bad spot where he had gotten and why he stepped out. It would be well-deserverd on your play list :-)

Britt, the fact you don't know Avicii (and I have to admit, I didn't know him either until I heard this by Angelina), speaks volumes about today's world. Avicii was the biggest musical artist on Earth in the couple years before his death in 2018 when Angelina sang this song as a tribute. Avicii was a fan of Angelina and they did meet but sadly Avicii committed suicide by drinking himself to death. His songs on KZbin have views in the BILLIONS, yet many were not aware of the impact his music had. Will we see the same with Angelina? Angelina has always said her desire is to sing for the whole world, yet many don't pay attention to current music. While Avicii's music was mainly embraced by young adults, Angelina's music, I believe will have a wider audience. Angelina's original songs will be the determining factor. Her upcoming album has been worked on since she signed with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic has had all of Angelina's originals to choose from, to make the album as impactful as possible. Stargate, the production team, working with Angelina has had 2.5 years to tweak the songs selected to be on the album. I am willing to wager, Angelina's upcoming album will be one of those watershed albums that changes the music industry, the likes of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and Dark Side of the Moon. Britt, you have an opportunity to help Angelina achieve her lifelong goal to sing for the entire world. Angelina has always said her desire is to sing to bring peace to the world, yet it is a shame that many don't pay attention to current music and artists. You can tell she really wanted to Honor him, wearing all black, the subdued bye you can tell is final firm bye. It's cute in her lower speaking voice she still had so much of an accent. It was around this age she started to lose the accent almost completely, within a year and until now it's almost gone entirely. An absolutely wonderful reaction to an absolutely wonderful musical artist. I hope Angelina keeps loving her musical journey and doesn't let the pressure push her into something similar. I don't know if it's because of the Internet and social media, but to me, it seems like this generation jumps to suicide to solve problems.

Sorry to burst your bubble but ANGELINA was not chosen to sing on that volvo ad , it's another artist . apparently volvo we're concerned a young ANGELINA was the wrong image for volvo at that time.

AFAIK, Avicii and Angelina worked together on the commercial, but at Volvo's request, Avicii then taped it with Audra Mae (then 31 years old). again this too young thing, to Volvo's disadvantage IMHO, Angelina's "feeling good" is unmatched.

i think by this point and time i have seen every or almost every video from Angelina. she is or has been in the studio with her record label recording new music to be released later this year, I AM SOOOOOOOO EXCITED. this song is much faster than the way she is singing it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5TVk4BnocR1pas. the original version with video. the original writer is a d j his name is AVICII. he committed suicide on APRIL 20, 2018 by slitting his wrist with a broken bottle. he had suffered from mental issues and drug abuse for years.

I really wish she would sing a lot more songs nowadays with those deep, rich, lower registered tones. They're like the most exquisite, RICH, SMOOTH, deep, dark chocolate ganache aand could arguably, restore hearing to the deaf. I think her low tones are every bit as impressive as her greatest belting.

Hi, Britt! Thank you for excellent reaction to Angelina's tribute to Avicii (Tim Berling), a Swedish DJ, music producer, and songwriter, who wrote this song. He and Angelina were friends, and it hit her very hard when he committed suicide on 20 April 2018. Originally an upbeat song, Angelina rearranged it to respect the sombreness of the moment. You may have noticed that she was wearing black, and her "Bye" at the end was very subdues, just before the screen faded to black.
