Clearly this is not a one hit wonder band. They wrote over 1000+ songs for themselves and other top artists. They had 9 #1’s on the Billboard Hot 100. They sold 225 million records worldwide. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Inducted into The Vocal Group Hall of Fame, got a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the list of their achievements goes on and on. They wrote and produced their own albums and also wrote and produced for many other top artists. They wrote and performed different genres, Pop, Disco, Soul, R&B, Funk, Rock, Soft Rock, Country. Their career spanned 5 decades, and only ended with the death of brother Maurice in 2003. TOO MUCH HEAVEN, HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE, LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT, FANNY (BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE), HOW DO YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART are just a sample of their incredible talent. ❤❤❤

This is a huge rabbit hole that is well worth diving into. SO MANY amazing songs over a 50 + year career. I actually gasped when Nathan said he thought they were like a one hit wonder! They wrote over 1000 songs and had so many hits - they've charted in five different decades. They've also written and produced songs for many other artists and many artists have done some amazing covers of their songs. I think Barry is a musical genius but they're all very talented. I'm all for MORE BEE GEEs!

Neither died of AIDS. Maurice died from a heart attack revolving around surgery to repair a twisted intestine. Robin died from cancer their baby brother died from heart issues. Maurice's name is actually pronounced Morris his nickname was Mo. Barry usually did the high but Mo could definitely hold his own...

You've stumbled across the deepest rabbit hole in pop music. A thousand songs, hundreds of hits, tons of styles, 5 decades, all wonderful. None died of AIDS. They all can sing high or low or in-between. British, born on the Isle of Man, grew up in Australia, returned to Britain, moved to Miami.

@@WelpHereWeAreOnKZbinplease react to Too Much Heaven and Fanny Be Tender With My Love. Barry is the one with the falsetto that you hear in Stayin Alive. The Bee Gees started performing when Barry was 9 and the twins were 6. Barry was 11 when the Bee Gees were established. Song catalog over 1,100. They have so many great songs that you could react to one a week and it would take you years to get through them all. Six number one songs in a row. Five in the top ten at the same time.

You said they had 5 hits. Well, maybe you are thinking about the 5 #1 hits they had at the same time in the top ten during the 70s disco era. Wikipedia lists 29 songs that were " actual number one singles as performers" 13 of which were released in the 1960s. You were wondering who does the high or low or middle voice. Robin is known for his high range in many of the 1960s hits, Barry and Robin often share the lead on mid-range and lower octaves. Barry honed his falsetto voice in the 70s and 80s. Maurice, pronounced Morris, has a beautiful natural lower baritone voice but often contributed the mid or higher range harmonies. So fact is they all have incredible range !!❤ Love watching with you! Hope you do more BeeGees Reactions! Nights on Broadway was pre- disco and on the Main Course album. All the songs on that album are great. The Mr. Natural album is not as good and more country flavored than the rest of their 70s albums. The 60s hits are terrific though ( as well as the 80s,90s and 2001 hits. There are a few more "Midnight Special" live performances that feature medleys of their hits!❤❤ Thank you for reacting to the BeeGees! Enjoyed very much!❤

They have written for others and themselves over 1000 songs. Disco is what made them famous but it's a minuscule part of their catalogue. Once they were black-balled because of disco they had death threats and stopped sining and started writing for others. They made a Hugh comeback in the 80's 90's and early 2000's. For Whom the Bell Tolls and One were two of their latter hits that I loved.

Mid 70s: "Wind of Change", "You Should Be Dancing". Late 70s "Spirits Having Flown". 80s: "Don't Fall in Love With Me", "Living Eyes", "One". 90s: "Kiss of Life", "For Whom the Bell Tolls", "I Surrender". 2000's: :She Keeps on Coming", "Voice in the Wilderness". As a bonus 2016: "Grand Illusion" (from Barry's solo album,).

None of them died of Aids. Barry is still living and involved in writing and playing music, the youngest brother (Andy, who had his own career and was significantly younger than his older brothers) died of heart issues after recovering from drug and alcohol abuse, Maurice (Morris) died of complications from surgery to repair a twisted bowel, and Robin died of colorectal cancer. Once-in-a-lifetime talent, 4.5 decades of performing and writing songs together, incredible lyricists, best harmonies ever, wrote all their own songs and the songs of many other artists, could do any style of music with perfection. They were unique in so many ways.

They all could sing in a wide range. Barry is most known for the falsetto (but in this performance Maurice takes that role). Robin typically has a higher range (but not falsetto high), but he can hit the lower range (ie. Monday's Rain). Barry also has a wonderful soulful lower register. They have many many many many hits across 5 decades and also wrote many hits for other people. They are the antithesis of one hit wonders. If you go down the Bee Gees rabbit hole you will be amazed at the variety and talent across many genres.

Maurice died from complications from a twisted colon and Robin...from liver and kidney failure brought on by colorectal cancer. Love your Bee Gee reactions The Bee Gees were more than just disco! I’m not sure if you’ve reacted to any of these, but here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under: (disregard the ones you’ve already reacted to) Too Much Heaven (R&B) How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard) Staying Alive (disco) Night Fever (disco) You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco) Fanny be tender with my love (R&B) Jive Talking (R&B) Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk) Tragedy (Techno? Pop) More than a woman (Disco/R&B) Love you inside out (Funk/pop) To love somebody (R&B) Massachusetts (pop/country) Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special) Alone (pop) Love So Right (R&B) Words (pop, 1979 Spirits Tour) Lonely Days (pop) You Win Again (pop) Run to Me (pop) How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B) Kiss of Life (rock) Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country) Bodyguard (R&B) The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor) If you want to see them (the Bee Gees) and how they work in the studio try: (A) the making of their song "Tragedy" from 1979 (B) The making of the song "Just in Case" (C) The making of the video "This is Where I Came in" from their last cd in 2001 Some that only the avid Bee Gee fans might know that you might want to react to: My Lover’s Prayer (pop ballard) Letting Go (pop ballard) Subway (R&B) You Stepped Into My life (Funk/r&b) Children of the World (pop) Search, Find (pop or R&B) Songs written by Barry Gibb (that other artists sung), alone or with his brothers (Robin &!Maurice Gibb): If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand). In fact, Gibb wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs. Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons). In fact, Barry wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, Barry wrote every song on this CD too. The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) and yes, Barry wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals. Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees also sung background. The live 1997 from Vegas is excellent! More Than a Woman (Tavares) Love Me (Yvonne Elliman) Come on Over (Olivia Newton John) Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it. Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli) Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer) Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;)

The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ_MiYaebNuKiKs Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXnCm2xmm6h8oZY, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJerhoZrgstjZrM. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4Wcp4V-iLyBmM0. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXKXdHykedOHoZo. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2eVeJ93etWZqLs. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3zHc4mBmLiGidk which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWewg2B7lLatsJI And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg

Imagine not knowing about the depth of the BeeGees music and their wider influence... Wait till these guys find out that there was a guy who began emulating the BeeGees ethereal folk sounds of the late 60's in order to write a song to get his career off the ground. The guy was David Bowie and the song was Space Oddity, but then they've probably not heard of him much either beyond the Labyrinth sound track.

Usually Barry sang falsetto, but when they sang live, sometimes they mixed up who sang what parts. This might’ve the song where Barry started trying out the falsetto sound. I laughed when you said you thought they might’ve been a one hit wonder! I think I read they had 9 number one hits and at least 30 songs in the top forty. They rank quite high for most albums ever sold!

This is the first song they used their high falsettos in...the start of something BIG! Maurice did the high fills onstage that Barry did in the studio recording. Theres some highs that Maurice hits in 'Alone' that sound more like a flute than a human. 'Alone' is a MUST for the falsetto Bee Gees lover! ( I bought the Rickenbacker 4001 in my photo because Maurice played a cherry sunburst one in the 'Jive Talkin' video...😃)

Basically, just listen to them all. Early 60s through 2000. Maurice (pronounced "Morris" or Mo) and Robin were twins. Mo died in 2003 and Robin in 2012. And don't leave out younger brother Andy. He wasn't a Bee Gee but had his own, sadly short, music career. Only Barry is left. Oh, and a non singing sister.

This was the first song where Barry uses his famous falsetto. This was how I remembered him in the beginning of his career. All brothers can sing using their falsetto voices. Maurice is pronounced Morris

Barry is usually lead and he has the falsetto on most cuts. However Maurice, as on this one, has the same range as Barry. Robin is in between. But all three are capable of big ranges. Maurice and Robin are the twin brothers, Barry is the elder. They started singing and performing at a young age with undeniable talent. They are all naturally gifted and have all made solo albums too. Their voices are strictly rare and at times straight from above.

So much ignorance in all of your comments, first of all none of the Bee Gess died of aids and to say that they were one hit wonders that really takes the cake, just between the years 77 and 79, they had 6 consecutive number 1 hits in the U.S , a record only matched by the Beatles, it would be nice if you diid some research before spilling out so much bullshit.

This is my favorite ever. Barry's chest voice is awesome. They all can sing in falsetto. But Robin usually doesn't. Barry did it on Saturday night fever and after that on several "disco type tunes" They were all born in England, but moved around a lot and then moved to Australia in 1958. and then back to Manchester, England when the when the boys wanted to try their luck performing in the UK. They have 39 albums (including 22 studio albums) and 83 singles.

They dropped their first single in 1961 I believe Barry was only 12 and the twins were only nine Robin and Morris are twins . Morris died he went into cardiac arrest going into surgery for a blockage in his colon. Robin died of cancer I believe it was May of 2012. Barry is the only one left. They had a younger brother who had a solo career Andy Gibb Andy Gibb died of heart failure in 1988. Because of drug abuse for 10 years even though he did not have drugs in his system at the time of his death . It did play A Part in his demise. Andy was not a part of the Bee Gees because he was too young. There was a 12-year age difference between Barry and there was a 9-year difference between Maurice and Robin.

1/5 hits??? You mean 100!!!!🤣🤣🤣They started as kids 9/6, and had a career about 40 years. Barry get the australian award for best songwriter at the age of 17 and is now listed as the second best songwriter behind Paul Mc Cartney (guiness world records). He is the only male artist to have 10 songs on the Hot 100 Billboard's 600 biggest songs in history by co-writing, co-producing or performing them. Gibb also holds a very unusual record, as he is the only songwriter in history to have written four consecutive US number 1 hits: in 1978. Gibb's career spans more than 60 years. He and his brothers were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of the Bee Gees. In this song Barry discovered his falsetto voice, and disco was only a tiny part of their music. NOBODY of them died of Aids!!!! Maurice died as a result of intestinal surgery, Robin of cancer! There is a video on youtube, 100 top 10 hits written by the Bee Gees, check it out!!!

I remember before the Bee gee backlash, bee gees had 3 top 10 hits at once. Djs played bee gees too much! I remember getting sick of them, they didn't play anything else and it was like all disco. I wanted to to hear other stuff too. Now it was not the bee gees fault- being too good, but the djs fault. For a time after that bee gees wrote songs for other singers. Tough for the bee gees, but they survived!
