This is a cover of a CLASSIC song of ALL Time by Donna Summer......considered to be the first EDM hit song...which came out in 1977., No one had heard anything like it. The original is a trip to listen to, even today it sounds modern!

You were right in that Lil Jon (along with Twista and Trick Daddy) did a song called "Let's Go", but the original rythym came from Ozzy Osbourne and his song " Crazy Train". The instruments you see the Blue Men playing is literally PVC pipes that are tuned to lengths to act as an instrument when struck with foam paddles. A lot of their instruments are made from PVC (PVC Instrument, Tubulum from the intro, and another called the Drumbone).

Blue Man Group is a performance art group that started in New York. The basic story is that the Blue Men are mutes who express themselves through music and art. The original three members, I believe, have retired from touring, but do help compose the music for the group. They have other members portraying the Blue Men. As you can see from the video, they like to use unusual instruments, including PVC pipes, large drums, and grand pianos places on their side with tuned strings that are hit with a mallet. BMG has residencies in about 5 cites in the U.S., and other cities worldwide. The clip you saw was from their "How to Be a Megastar Tour" featuring music from their second album The Complex. This album included guest singers, unlike their first album which was all instrumental. Some other videos of theirs you might want to check out (most from the Megastar tour) include "Blue Man Group - Baba O'Riley (The Who Cover)" (aleyavu YT Channel), "Blue Man Group - Up To The Roof" (LIve Sound YT Channel), "Blue Man Group Rods and Cones from Venetian (HQ)" (bluemangroupsurrey YT channel), "Blue Man Group - Drumbone" (Анатолий Цивилёв YT Channel), and "Blue Man Group - The Current (Official Music Video)" (features Gavin Rosedale from the band Bush). There's a Behind the Scenes video called "What It Takes To Be A Blue Man" from the Insider YT channel that takes a look at BMG.

My step-daughter worked for the BMG at Universal Studios in Orlando. She was a costumer. The blue was combination of blue material and blue paint. I’ve been to several performances, and even Guested one of the “Captains” with a complementary weekend at WDW for his marriage anniversary. Respect.

They are whacking different length PVC pipes with rubber paddles. They are each tuned to a different note. This show is still live in Boston every weekend.

The Blue Man Group are insane creative. The white thing they're playing is called a "Slapaphone" which are basically PVC pipes cut and tuned to the notes they need. They play it VERY well, and through the video, you can see the guys swapping out on the rythm (the far right side) of the pipes. For another demonstration of the slapaphone, look up Blue Man Group's Drumbone video. The costumes they wear consists of black shirts and pants, blue gloves, and their faces are covered in blue grease paint, in order to keep their anonymity. The often use paint in thier shows for a visual effect, which for that is essentially colored liquid like water. There's usually only three Blue Men in a show, but they have auditions to find others that is able to perform with them. For a bit of history, they did commercials a while back for Penitum processors, in the late 90's and early 2000's Most of their shows are at certain venues, they haven't toured since I want to say the mid 2010's, if not earlier. But they do have The Blue Man Group experience at certain locations where they perform regularly, with one such location being the Luxor out in Vegas. They also have a theatre in Orlando Florida, that's part of Universal Studios Florida and used to be part of the Nickelodeon Studios before it was shut down.

The wood rattle instrument is called a 'vibra Slap II' ...made by the Latin Percussion company. One slaps or depresses the ball end and it quickly vibrates back through the metal wire and rattles the bottom end wooden block which houses metal teeth in it,creating a chattering sound

I've seen Blue Man Group three times in Vegas. The last time I was cross-faded on some potent potables and enhancing edibles 😄. I assure you, it's far more chaotic and random than it seems from this little clip. The show is delightful, and you should catch it if you get a chance. Also yes, they do warn you about possible triggers from the lighting and stuff.

If you have not covered Donna Summer, I feel Love you must. I'd be shocked if you have not. It's a defining momemt of 70s music. She's just other worldly... ❤ And the song holds up strong to this very day. The singer in BMG is definitely strong enough to give it a faithful rendition with a twist.

It was Ozzy Osbourne .... NOT a rap song , well , of course it was a rap song that was sampled from Ozzy. See , Ozzy and his Rock and Roll band actually wrote the music. So .. Blue Man Group are covering the original by actually playing music on unique instruments. Sampling ... Is just using something that an actual artist created. These guys , actually have talent. They can actually make music.
