That is a good interview! I'm pretty sure it was much later than this performance though. Probably when he was promoting Eighth Grade? Maybe Make Happy. But definitely several years after this one.

There's a movie called the boondock saints and in the second movie there is a quote I'll give you "Well, since we've already broken the fuck barrier, allow me to be blunt. Yeah, I wouldn't consider Bo a "stand-up comic" either--at least not exclusively. He certainly does elements of that, but his shows are really a mix of comedy, music, and theatre. It reminds me a little of how Andy Kaufman considered himself a "song and dance man" as he pushed the boundaries of what comedy even looked like.

Yeah, I still don't get it...him I mean. My son absolutely loves him & played the "Inside" album incessantly for months. I get a few chuckles or "oh, that was clever" moments. But I just don't find him really funny or enjoyable to watch
