I recommend BEcause next, its based on the horror movie Us. Jiu (ji-yoo real name Minji) is the leader lead dancer and lead vocal and oldest, the girl with the black hair who started the pre chorus and was on fire. Absolute stunner, sweetest voice you will ever hear. Huge foodie calls her fans 4 leaf clovers. Most wholesome bean. SuA (soo-ah real name Bora) is the main dancer and lead rapper. She was the one reaching for the screen in the white dress and the face writing. Loud, chaotic and violently loving, but also the biggest mom friend, laughs like a dying car engine. calls her fans babies/baby. Siyeon (she-yun) is the main vocalist with the blonde hair (she sometimes gets confused with SuA she has a broader face and big lips with intense eyes, dark red hair and black Edna Mode wig in BEcause), was in a rock band in high school, is a flirt and calls her fans wives. Furry no.1, no sense of personal space no1, and has 2 solos. Has 3 tattoos. Handong (haan-dong) is the vocalist, the blue haired girl without the bangs with the super deep voice, she's chinese and elegant but a huge perv and the most musculor of the group along with Siyeon (I swear this is important information). Looks almost exactly like Yoohyeon in BEcause to the point their mom's got confused. Has 2 solos, loves Cats the musical and calls her fans i-somnias. Yoohyeon (Yoo-hyun) is the lead vocalist (secondary main imo) with the blue space buns and the bangs, language genius, abs for days, actually clumsy, puppylike, she will tell you how much she doesn't care about gender every time she open her mouth whether you ask or not. Dami (Daa-mee real name Yubin), main rapper lead dancer, has a super deep voice but can sing very high and light, miss producer and writer, she seems calm and collected and chill but is a massive dork, soft math genius, shares the only functioning braincell with Gahyeon. calls her fans Dami-namites.Has 2 tattoos. Gahyeon (G/Kah-yun), lead rapper, maknae, hates being called cute or a baby, a literal math genius, she loves money, Has a cat smile and is the red haired main character of BEcause. Calls her fans loves. All of them have solos that they produced, composed and wrote in atleast some capacity with i think Siyeon and Dami doing 97% of their song themselves.

Dreamcatcher is indeed a group full of girl crushes! Literally the most stunning group of women I’ve ever seen. Leader JiU was actually voted the most attractive female idol in two separate polls! And they’re also the group that inspired Pixy, PinkFantasy, and all these other groups that are now playing with darker, more hard-hitting concepts. DC didn’t just break the mold-they made their own. They do indeed have lore, but not as crazy as some other groups! Their discography is broken down into three main storylines: Nightmare Series: Chase Me (debut), Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What, Piri, Breaking Out (bonus ending/Japanese debut) Dystopia Trilogy: Scream, Boca, Odd Eye Apocalypse Trilogy: just started with their second full album Apocalypse: Save Us They also have many unconnected songs in between storylines such as Deja Vu, RoSE Blue, BEcause, and several Japanese releases. And yes! Dami, the rapper, is a gorgeous vocalist! Her singing voice is quite surprisingly high and delicate considering how she raps. Some great b-sides to hear her are Jazz Bar and Always.

Okay so lore wise for Odd Eye, it's part of their Dystopia trilogy that consists of Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye. It's essentially a campaign against cyberbullying centered around 'Hear no evil, Speak no evil, See no evil'. Before Scream, they had Deja Vu which was a collaboration with a game called King's Raid. The series before that was the Nightmare series with 6 confirmed sections and their japanese release Breaking Out as an unofficial alternate ending (alternative to Piri). They've released a few other things like Rose Blue and Full Moon somewhere in between but I can't remember exactly when. After Odd Eye, they released BEcause which is their take on a summer concept and is unconnected to any of their lore. They started the Apocalypse series with their comeback Maison (which gave them their first win, and second). Their next comeback is confirmed to be on August 25th and the album is called Lovecatcher which leads me to believe that it's unconnected to their lore as well.

Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". I can only recommend to keep reacting to them, they are always interesting and entertaining! And the song is a banger! Since Scream and Boca are parts 1 and 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, I would say you should definitely react to them. And I highly recommend Deja Vu!

Fun fact: the Dystopia Trilogy has 7 m/v's. 2 for Scream, 3 for Boca, 2 for Odd Eye (plus 3 self-made m/v's produced by the members, and a bunch more special clips and covers). There is a performance video Suit version of Scream, Zombie version of Boca with the make-up team from Netflix's Kingdom, Part switch Boca where they clown each other non-stop, and Dystopia version of Odd Eye that really helps Insomnia work through our issues from missing Handong so much.

"See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" Scream, Boca and Odd eye (in that order) are a trilogy based on that sentence, I recommend you watch the 3 MVs so you can understand more of the lore behind that trilogy. They used this to bring awareness about bullying and h8 speech (specially on social media), as they tried to bring awareness about climate change in "Maison." Dreamcatcher have quickly moved into my top 3 groups, along with Mamamoo and Pentatonix. Dreamcatcher debuted in 2017 with Catch Me, kicking off their Nightmare series in which each member portrays a different nightmare or fear. This includes Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What and finally Piri which concludes the series (I will add that their Japanese release Breaking Out (another banger) is considered an alternate ending to the Nightmare series). The next series is the Dystopia trilogy: Scream, Boca and Odd Eye. This series deals with bullying, both on and offline. Their newest comeback is Maison. This deals with pollution and climate change. These girls are masters of the cover. Whether as a solo, part of a sub-unit or the group as a whole there hasn't been a cover they performed that they haven't killed. Also if you want to hear the rapper (Dami) sing, I would suggest her and Yoohyeon's cover of IU's Pallette. Dreamcatcher has some of the most diverse B-sides in K-pop also. While their title tracs incorporate rock and metal elements, their B-sides range from Jazz to R&B to Tropical to EDM and so on. Check them out also. There is a lot of "lore" to be found in Dreamcatcher videos, but it is often a bit hidden and open to some interpretation. There have been two story arcs so far, the Nightmare Series: 1. Chase Me (Debut) 2. Good Night 3. Fly High (this one is a prequel to the other two) 4. You and I 5. What 6. Piri 7. Breaking Out (A japanese track and alternative ending to the storyline) And the Dystopia Series: 1. Scream 2. Boca 3. Odd Eye There are two more amazing title tracks that dont belong to any story: 1. Dejavu (Collaboration with a video game) 2. BEcause (Horror Movie inspired, especially the movie Us) Their newest comeback (which gave them their first win after a bit over 5 years in the business!) has also started the new "Apocalypse" storyline, which is supposed to also last for three comebacks. Dreamcatcher is my favorite female kpop group. Their music has a mix of everything, including my favorite rock and dark vibe. They have the "Nightmare" series followed by "Dystopia" arc. The one you just reviewed is the last part of the Dystopia. It goes in order of Scream, Boca, and then Odd Eye. Each mv is a representation of real life scenarios such as cyber bully in Odd Eye. The Nightmare series deals with fears of each member. Some of my personal favorite is Goodnight, What, Dejan Vu, and You and I. Their B side tracks are phenomenal. I highly recommend Poison Love, Into the Frozen, Break the Wall, and so many more. I went to their Chicago tour concert. They slapped so hard, it felt like a rave and rock concert mixed in one. Solos The first solo is by JIU. ‘Cherry (real miracle)’ about her dog Cherry. SUA is next with her solo track ‘No Dot’. SIYEON’S following track ‘Entrancing’. Apocalypse: SAVE US tittle track MAISON both a warning and a cry for help - Planet Earth is burning, and there’s little time before it’s too late. True to the theme, they waste no time in getting straight to the point. After a cinematic, orchestral intro that creates tension and urgency, we dive right into the stifling, suffocating feeling of ‘Locked Inside A Door’. The funk-rock elements in the song are meant to be liberating, but they never quite reach the satisfying crescendo that we wait for. That’s not a bad thing at all, since it goes perfectly with the helplessness the song talks about. Nowhere, however, is this helplessness more evident than on title track ‘Maison’. What you reacted to in this video is the final video in what is known as the Dystopia Trilogy. It starts with the song "Scream", followed by the song "BOCA", and ends with "Odd Eye". There is a cohesive story and plotline through this trilogy and it focuses on the damage that cyber-bullying causes to many people. "Scream" is representive of hear no evil, "BOCA" is speak no evil, and "Odd Eye" is see no evil. You mentioned that you have listened to the other two songs and seen the videos, but it would still be cool to see your reactions to them once you get more familiar with the group and to piece together the lore as well. Now for a bit of Dreamcatcher history. Dreamcatcher debuted in 2017 - though five of the seven members were originally in a more poppy bubblegum group known as Minx, which debuted in 2014. Minx wasn't very successful, so the company rebranded and redebuted the group as Dreamcatcher and added two more members. The fandom name for Dreamcatcher is known collectively as InSomnia, meaning "within dreams". It comes from the Latin word for "dream", which is "somnium". It further derives from the meaning that dreamcatchers are meant to protect the sleeper from nightmares by catching them and that when we dream, we should dream of Dreamcatcher so that they not only protect us in our sleep, but also so that when in our dreams they are always there, and thus, we never sleep on Dreamcatcher. Sometimes fans are also referred to as Somnias. Here are timestamps for each member for this video the moment that they start to sing: At 1:38 is Yoohyeon. She is a lead vocalist and lead dancer. She's the group's clutz and goofball. She is also multilingual and is the most fluent in English in the group. At 2:06 is Handong. She is a vocalist and the only Chinese member. It's worth noting that Handong was absent from the group for most of 2020 due to going on a show called Youth With You and then getting stuck in China due to the pandemic. Since she was absent, she is not present in the first two songs of the Dystopia Trilogy nor many of the others that came out during this time period. She returned some time in late 2020 and was able to be back for the "Odd Eye" comeback in early 2021. Handong is a savage jokester in the group and also one of the more reserved and quiet ones. At 2:09 is Gahyeon. She is a vocalist, lead rapper, and the maknae. She's fiesty and also the brains of the group who keeps everyone organized and focused. At 2:15 is Sua. She is a vocalist, main dancer, and sub rapper. She has also choreographed some of the dances for the group's B-sides. She's the loud and crazy one of the group with an iconically silly laugh. If she's around, there will be chaos. At 2:21 is Jiu. She is the leader of the group, a vocalist, dancer, and visual. She's the mother of the other girls and always makes sure to protect and treat them right while simultaneously being a cute, joyous, and funny leader. She likes dad jokes and constantly laughs at her own when she shares them with others, haha. She has a pomeranian dog named Cherry who is the unofficial eighth member of Dreamcatcher. At 2:28 is Siyeon. She is the main vocalist and a visual. She's definitely the most well-rounded of everyone, but also a complete meme generator with her facial expressions and attitude, haha. Her voice is one of the most angelic in all of K-pop and she can hit some insanely high notes. At 4:52 is Dami. She is the main rapper. She's the most quiet and reserved of the group and the bread and butter that keeps them all level-headed. Dami rarely shows emotion, but she still looks out for her fellow members and protects them. Now that you have an idea of who is who, here is a bit more history of the group. As I said above, they debuted in 2017 after their failure as Minx. They went with a darker concept as Dreamcatcher and the first series and storyline they started was called The Nightmare Series. It consisted of these videos in the following order: Chase Me (debut and the beginning of The Nightmare Series. They debuted on January 12th, 2017) Goodnight Fly High (third release, but chronologically comes before Chase Me and is a prequel to that video) You and I What Piri (the end of The Nightmare Series) Breaking Out (this is a Japanese single that is widely considered to be the alternate or potentially the secret true ending of The Nightmare Series) The lore for the Nightmare Series is widely speculated and talked about and many people have different theories. BLUE (this was made in collaboration with the mobile game Girl Cafe Gun and is a part of the OST for it) Endless Night (Japanese single) Eclipse (Japanese single in collaboration with the King's Raid anime) BEcause (This is a comeback single that released on July 30th, 2021; this is the single that came out after Odd Eye, but it has no connection to the Dystopia Trilogy) MAISON (This is the group's most recent comeback that released on April 12th, 2022. It is the single for their second full album, Apocalypse: Save Us and is the start of a new trilogy. This song and the trilogy as a whole tackles the subject of environmental wellness and protecting the Earth. This is also the single that got Dreamcatcher not only their FIRST, but their SECOND win on two different stage shows! Needless to say, the fans were very happy, excited, and proud of the group). I'll leave you with this last piece of advice: You cannot go wrong with any of their B-sides. They are all great, but if you want some of my personal favorites, then Red Sun, Sahara, Whistle, Break the Wall, Tension, New Days, Black & White, Poison Love, Always, Starlight, and Wind Blows are all PHENOMENAL. If you really want to get to know their names and personalities i can recommend doing reactions to the "this is: ..." series by fellow Dreamcatcher-youtuber "insomnicsy". The entire community loves that series. There is a 2020 and a 2021 episode for every member, they are titled like "this is: jiu (2020)". The amazing thing about Dreamcatcher is that every single one of them is multitalented. Dami is the main rapper, but she also sings in some of the b sides. Sua is the main dancer, but she can also rap and so does Gahyeon in Piri, Boca and Scream. Believe me when I tell you these girls are amazing and the fandom is very well spoiled. We get special clips and covers quite a lot. Also, you can tell how much they love Somnias (the fandom's name) when you see them performing on stage. The lore actually goes from Scream (about being bullied), to BOCA (about fighting back the bullies), and Odd Eye (about escaping the dark only to eventually having to face their own darkness / fake personas which they thought was their "utopia"). Odd Eye! My first comeback as an Insomina. I am weak for blonde Siyeon so she was fatal in this… being one of my biases she is always fatal, but she is extra fatal with blonde. (I have a bit of a weakness for blonde idols though.. blonde jiu, blonde Yoohyeon, blonde Handong, Blonde Moonbyul, Blonde Solar.. though most of those members are bias or bias weaker so it’s just more killing me).Yoohyeon with silver hair and Handong with blue are also fatal. Handong’s first MV since her return from China. There is Odd Eye (Dystopia Version) that is very full circle. I saw them in Reading, PA and it was amazing. Boca mv was my first. Then Scream, Deja Vu, You and I, Piri. I watched out of order when I was first getting into them. I then went and watched their MVs in order. Piri is my favorite Dreamcatcher song.. though Scream, Boca, Deja Vu and Odd Eye round out my top 5. When watching their earlier stuff, start with Chase Me and end with Piri (and technically Breaking out- their first Japanese song as it’s an alternate end to that particular story). You could start with Fly High, but it was released after Chase Me and most go in order of release when watching that particular storyline. Odd eye is the last of the Dysopia story so it ties into Scream and Boca MVs. Scream and Boca- anti cyber bullying, Odd Eye- trying to find Utopia in the internet/tech but it does not exist. They are also Hear no evil (Scream), speak no evil (boca), see no evil (odd eye). Even if you don’t react to it, you should watch Boca’s MV for the lore of the story.

I would recommend watching everything they have. I know thats kind of vague, but that is how good they are. They have a ton of solos, special clips and cover songs. All their mini albums and albums are great. Title songs have the rock elements, and the other songs will have a mix of genres. Highly recommend everything to see how well rounded they are. 'Piri' was the first thing KZbin recommending me to watch, but I never know who is Dreamcatcher at the time. So I ignored it like months until I watch 'Dalla Dalla' by ITZY, the new monster dance based powerful rookie girl group from JYP, and somebody left comments like 'Please come and watch Piri by Dreamcatcher and you won't regret' for quite a number of similar comments, I decided to click on 'Piri' and my mind was blown. How on Earth I never know this Dreamcatcher?????? I was like few years behind these girls' production =O All their title track MV is amazing (except 'Maison' there is a part where the crowd dance the CGI is kinda flop somehow with fakey background CGI and the 'BEcause' where the part is where Yoohyeon sings her part on in the white dress and the editing to her mouth shape is a tiny bit flop as well), the rest is phenomenally good like watching high budget fantasy horror movies in MV form LOL

Love watching people’s DC journey. personally I’d probably recommend BEcause or Maison next. Since their earlier title tracks are part of a continuity whereas those are standalone. If you like the darker/artsy/harder themes, I’d also recommend Purple Kiss, Gidle, Bvndit (they’re more sexy concept & girl crush than dark tho. Specifically their songs dumb and dramatic. they’ve got hella unique voices), Everglow, or Dreamnote. Also I implore you to check out Rolling Quartz. I can almost guarantee if you like DC, you’d like them. They’ve even done a dreamcatcher cover that they put on their album. ✌🏼
