Today's video is a first time reaction to K-pop group Dreamcatcher. I'll be checking out their song Odd Eye which, quite frankly, is an absolute banger. There is belting and all the visuals you'd expect but mostly join me in exploring the vocals of this new group.

Fun fact to show how good they all are... in a high note battle, the main dancer SuA won, followed by 2nd place main rapper Dami xD this is the only group with an all rounder members group that one would find it so hard to find a bias (they are all my biases). They all can sing, rap and most of all their personality is off the chart! And their live performance is even better with live band and choreography! For songs you should react to, I would suggest Wind Blows, Black Or White, Sahara, Break the Wall, Starlight, Fairytale, Curse of the Spider etc. apart from their title tracks. Most of their B-sides are title tracks quality, no kidding! Their recommendation list is actually endless & I don't want to kill you with the reading... xD

that's why whenever i see a performance for this song it scares me how good they are. The energy is amazing, the choreo is difficult, and believe or not the vocals are live. Sometimes you can even hear Siyeon belting on top of the playback lmao

Lee Siyeon (pronounced She-on), the blonde, has a few songs you should check out. Paradise (original) and Speechless ( Aladdin cover). Then Shadow (feat. Dami, the rapper), has two versions. One is rock, the other is slower and piano driven. Lots of belts in Shadow slow version. Edit: Shadow is a soundtrack song for Black Hole. As for the videos, it is just snippets of the show unfortunately.

They take you on a musical journey. The short hair blonde girl is Siyeon, the main singer, she is on another level, master of all trades.

It's been about a year ago, that I watched this video and got introduced to Dreamcatcher. By now I know all their songs and listen to them on a daily basis. I kinda lost touch with recent music, but I am very much immersed in K-pop these days. Thanks for expanding my horizon.

Glad to see you reacting to Dreamcatcher! They're a talented K-pop group vocally, and their music is quite unique for K-pop. As for suggestions, there is a video of them seeing one of their B-sides, "Wonderland" live on Arirang Radio show. It's a well-known clip as they basically goof off the whole time, but still nail the live delivery, which is pretty typical of Dreamcatcher.

Siyeon, the blonde belter and Handong, the second girl have my favorite voices in the group. They both have solos too. In terms of live vocals, they sang scream live on arirang radio channel (honestly even their car karaoke version sounds great), they did Boca and Odd Eye live on Esquire. They do sing live while dancing and you can usually hear them over the backing track and sometimes even hear the way the dance moves alter the voice. One of my favorite moments in their live performances was when they sang 4Memory during their Utopia showcase and Yoohyeon (the space bun girl) did her crazy runs and Siyeon did a long sustained belt in the final chorus, for that matter even the long sustained note in New Days is impressive.

I knew of this group before but it was this video, before it got blocked, that made me go back and really listen to it. Since then, I've listened to every song, made a playlist, watched a shit ton of content... Couldn't listen to anything else in the past couple of weeks. Completely hooked. They're great performers, they're kind of unique in kpop from what I've learned. I know this video might've been a bit of a headache for you because of DMCA crap, but it would be cool to have more analysis of them.

Wolfie SiYeon, the short blonde bob, is a freaking beast on stage. She has grown so much over the last 5 years, she has learned to manipulate her stage persona as if she's wielding sharp knives, she can cut through the performance and stand out so much. She loves performing, she lives for it. But, strangely enough, she a real shy dork in real life... She is so adorable!

Don't apologize for enjoying yourself! Im so glad you found Dreamcatcher, they're one of the forerunners of this style of sound in Kpop (there's a handful of other groups out there bringing rock in, which is bigger in Japan than South Korea) and are dang good at it. They're a very versatile group and you'll find them to have quite the range if you do a dive in, which I hope you do! Siyeon has a few very well known solo bits, her own solo release 'Paradise' which is beautiful, she did 'Speechless' from the live action Aladdin (and Disney Music liked and commented on the video!), and a soloist cover of EXO's 'Overdose' on a competition show that are both stunning. Their fans, us Insomnia, know that they're all extremely strong. And a comeback is going to be out this week on the 30th!

Absolutely gorgeous! And then we have Dreamcatcher who are all beautiful too. Before DC was a thing, 5 of the members were in a group called Minx with a bubble gum kpop concept. Their debut song was "Why did you come to my home", in which Siyeon just casually would hit an E♭6. All the members are strong singers in the group but our resident Wolfie is just something else entirely.

Thanks for reaching to Dreamcatcher! For live vocals, I suggest the Wind Blows band version that's uploaded on the Mdromeda Kpop channel. That one is my favorite and really underrated You can tell that one is live with no backing track by the way their upper abdomens and heads are pretty still while singing despite the choreography. On that note, if you want to see them perform this song, Odd Eye, with full choreo and no (or very little?) backing track, they also have a band version uploaded on the same channel where they sing live.

It was Siyeon, the blonde member that hit that F#5. And she does while doing that barrel spin too. During live performances, her spin isn't as high or fast as she can do it during practices because she needs that extra oomph to belt out that note.

I've heard this reaction several times and I really like it. Hoping that there will be more (besides the "Boca [Zombie-Version]") soon after. Unfortunately nothing more so far. I'm so cheeky and recommend 2 titles (each official DC-MV: - Deja vu (from 2019 (great rock ballad) such as - Vision (the last work from 10/2022 - a mix of dark industrial and rock) Both MV are a milestone in K-Pop I think and worth hearing and seeing in every respect. It makes so happy seeing people appreciate these women like this. I love seeing your regular reactor do it mostly because I'm like them so I relate, but seeing people who know their stuff love what they're hearing and seeing, and explaining it to us in such a nice and clear way is always such a treat. So thank you for checking them out! They did a live vocal and dance performance to this on the Mdromeda Kpop channel, they did it in other places as well but I feel like that's the one with the clearest sound and the camera isn't flying around too much. I'm sure others will recommend stuff too but that's the one I can think of and I'd love to see your reaction to it as well, if you want to do it that is. I'd love to recommend another group if you want, a band actually: ONEWE. I'd personally recommend their "Reminisce About All" song simply because it's my favorite of theirs and I absolutely love the main vocalists voice in it, or maybe "Parting" or "A Book In Memory," they have more of the other instruments present than the first one in case you want to see that. I'd mention all of their songs, at least their title tracks, but I have to slim down the list somehow lol

Lol the “weapon” who sang those adlibs is the blond one, Siyeon (who you correctly point out for her insane stage presence). Yoohyeon (space buns) is also capable of hitting those, and they often trade off on the crazier ad libs, but Siyeon has a bit more power and stability. They both have different and beautiful tones too which add so much in tandem.

Scream and Boca are the prequels to this song (in that order), and they form a kind of trilogy. Also, their newest song came out TODAY and it's AMAZING. I do recommend you give it and the others in the Dystopia trilogies (including their B-sides, because they cover almost every genre), and their Japanese singles are a different monster entirely. Honestly, all of Dreamcatcher's songs are incredible, but listing off their discography isn't what i wanted to achieve here lmao

My favorite kpop and probably group period. Dreamcatcher has such an amazing variety of sounds and they do everything from jazzy to Rock to edm. The first singer (lead singer position) Yoohyeon is my favorite kpop idol. Just love her voice and personality. You should react to her cover of Secret Love Song. I would recommend doing Deja Vu next for the vocals, or Scream and BOCA for a better understanding of this trilogy storyline (Odd Eye is the ending of the Dystopia storyline). You should also check some of their solo works, especially Siyeon’s. Welcome to the Dreamworld!

Even if you don't react to it you should watch a live performance with choreo. Their backing tracks are pretty low by comparison and you can really hear the live vocals. Reactions to Korean music shows are often blocked though so maybe just in your own time...
