Elvin Bishop is one of Americas' hottest guitarists and he toured America and Europe for over forty years, this was a huge hit and I saw them do this live at The Aquarius in Seattle in 1976. The singer, Mickey Thomas, was a gospel singer and this performance is one of the best ever.

The guitar player, Elvin Bishop wrote the song. He asked Mickey Thomas to sing it on the recording. It was a smash hit. Mickey went on to sing in Starship with Grace Slick. He was in Starship for many years.

Mickey Thomas voice hasn’t changed in 50 yrs. Check him out he still tours with Starship. He’s amazing and very handsome! I’ve loved him since the day this song released.

Love this song - one of the best from the 70s 😍 Elvin Bishop wrote the song and played on it. I think he's doing the guitar solo in this clip. The guy singing is Mickey Thomas, who was later in the band Starship.

The man wearing the brown suit playing the solo is Elvin Bishop Mickey Thomas had joined his band shortly before this song was released and Elvin liked the way he performed the song.

Jane is a bad ass song I love it listen every single day..... Mickey has a voice that I just cant get enough of. Nothing going to stop us now is also such a great song Mickey and Grace are so great. The bands music is so right in line with the lyrics. Many other GREAT songs also.

Elvin Bishop guitar 🎸 player 🎸 wrote this song, but didn't think his gravelly voice was suited for the song so he had backup singer Mickey Thomas sing it.

Elvin Bishop is the sheriff playing his Gibson known as Red Dog.Elvin wrote this and let his backing singer Mickey Thomas sing it,which was a great choice.Reni Slais singing this with Mickey is also adding a great sound to this.Elvin does sing,and made it big with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.I saw Elvin ad Mickey play this live in Tulsa,Oklahoma in the mid '70's.

It is a fun song! I remember when this song came out, I was 15 yrs. old. The lady who is singing doesn't even make eye contact with him which is strange, but that was and still is a fantastic song!!

The title is misleading the lead is the great Mickey Thomas. One of the greatest singers in my opinion. Elvin was playing the mean guitar. Incredible. Terrific song, hats off to all involved. Mickey later went to Jefferson Starship, you need to check out JANE, more 🔥🔥🔥 🔥 like this great song.

Janitor?? That's a 70's 'Jump Suit' to you sir...lol Me thinks the singer and back up singer..have 'fooled around and fallen in love'... But really...Elvin Bishop (guitarist and song writer) wrote the song but knew he couldn't pull off the vocals so he asked his then male back singer up to perform it...Mickey Thomas...His career took off from here. Cheers.

I remember the first time I heard that song It was either 82 or 83 at the state fair and my grade school crush was there with her boyfriend singing this song I was disappointed she had a boyfriend but she didn't know I had a crush on her
