I think he said in an interview that he wrote this song throughout the whole detox process, like he started writing when he od and finished it when he was clean, so it was the last song recorded on the album. Like, he wrote the first verse right after OD, the second verse during his rehab and the third when he finished the treatment, at least that’s what I remember reading. To me it reminds me of my time when I was coming off my prescription meds and couldn't sleep all day all night for months . Took my energy too tired and depressed for I had kids to raise. All the problems I was blanking out with drugs made me feel exactly the same as he says in this. I just wanted to get over it and be normal but it just felt so long and like I was the only person awake and feeling like I did . When I did catch an hour of sleep it was dream state and each one was like a freddy Krueger movie or Ems 3am and Framed videos.... Needless to say his words hit home big time and helped me more than anyone else! Definitely the best most honest person in music and my no.1 🎼🔥📝🐐🔥❤
