This is a real musical, though it isn’t finished yet. It follows the Odyssey and it’s all one story. Also the creator of the musical, Jorge, voices the main character Odysseus. The animatics are fanmade and are based on behind the scenes shorts from Jorge, context clues and the actual Odyssey and Iliad, though changes have been made for storytelling purposes. And just a piece of information when it comes to backing vocals, when a mortal has backing vocals, those voices have to exist in the surrounding area, but if a god has backing vocals they are more often than not created by the god that is singing.

Also its still currently being worked on and its released in diffrent "Sagas" Its a musical retelling of the greek story The Odessy! Its about a man named Odysseyus, he was a general in the trojan war and used a wooden horse to sneak into the enemies town and then attacked at night. He has a vison of him being killed and is told my Zeus (the greek god of lighting amd king of the gods) that he has to kill a baby or els he will grow up to kill Odysseyus. Hate is taught yes, and Zeus just told Odysseus he and the gods would do that. Odysseus tried to lay out nonviolent plans but Zeus countered each of them saying it was the will of the gods. There's no reason to doubt this prophecy and Zeus is making him choose between this baby and everyone/thing he loves.

4:24 that is honestly an incredibly valid feeling to have! the Odessey is _very_ old, and ppl are calling it a book, but it was _codified_ by Homer - the story itself was passed down through oral tradition looong before that, together with the Iliad, which this is essentially a sequel to (also fun fact; it completely flies by, but at the beginning Odysseus says; "Neo, avenge your father, kill the brothers of Hector" - Neoptolemeos was the son of Achilles. both Hector prince of Troy and Achilles son of Peleus were already dead by the time the horse was constructed and taken into the city)

So Epic is unfinished, but aims to be, a full stage musical, as it stands 25/40 are finished with 26-30 coming out on August 30th. Jorge, the creator of Epic the musical, only puts out the music himself, all the visuals are fan made (although sometimes, usually during song debuts, he does live streams where he works with the animators to make "Official Animatics" but all the full ones you see are fan made). Anyway, the story follows the events of Homer's "The Odyssey" which is a several thousand year old poem that details the hardships Odysseus, the king of Ithica, and his crew deal with on their journey home after being in the Trojan war for 10 years. Epic does take some liberties in changing the story to suit its needs and make it more palatable for a modern audience (Honestly though, I like all the changes so far). This is an independent musical based on the ancient Greek epic The Odyssey by Homer, and has gained most of its fame through going viral on tiktok. The person who makes this whole project is Jorge Rivera Herrans, who is also the person who sang most of the vocals in this one, since he voices the main character. Epic the musical is his project, a story based on Homer's Odyssey told through songs he wrote. He wants it to become a real stage play some day, but for now it's only songs (and albums) that are officially out. The animations were made by fans, based on background information Jorge shared with us through shorts. For all the other characters people all around the world auditioned to voice them. The fanbase is called Winions (will explain later). EPIC has (will have) 2 acts, and the songs belong to different sagas. The first act consists of 20 songs (5 sagas), and the second act will also have 20 songs, but only 5 are out right now (all five belonging to one saga). For now I'll just say, the first 5 songs are the Troy saga. There are many fun facts and hidden details in these songs and animatics, so make sure to read the comments for them! ❤

It is a musical, but it doesn't have anything official outside of the music. It's a retelling of Homer's The Odyssey. The animations are fan-made, but they draw from what the creator has told in various tiktoks, or from The Odyssey itself. The musical is a completely sung-through musical (so no stopping for story between songs). It's going to have 2 acts, which are divided into sagas, and then those sagas are divided into the songs, of course. think of it like; act = season saga = chapter songs = episodes So far, Act 1 is completely done with all of it's music released and containts; the Troy Saga with 5 songs, the Cyclops Saga with 4 songs, the Ocean Saga with 4 songs, the Circe Saga with 4 songs, and ends with the Underworld Saga with 3 songs. 9:42 exactly, this is the story based on The Odyssey. It happens right after The Illiad (where Achilles is). This follows Odysseus and his 20 year journey to get back home. He is a king, and the general of 600 men. He was trying to find ways out with the kid, but Zeus continued to tell him how those futures would play out- the destruction of Odysseus’ kingdom, the death of everyone he holds dear, etc. He has to think about every man under his command, but also the many people back at home. His story is from the end of the Trojen War and his way across the sea to get back home. He royally fucked up on the way home. It is a story of betrayal, sacrifice and how badly Odysseus wants to get back to his Wife and Son, no matter the cost. I would recommend watching them in the Sagas: Troy, Cyclops, Ocean, Circe, Underworld and Thunder. In that order and more on the way as of now (The Wisdom Saga will be out soon as well). The animatics are amazing and good for content but the soundtrack is just as amazing on its own (especially the re-made versions of the Troy and Cyclopse Sagas.) The Anamatics/animations are fan-made but all of the soundtracks are made by Jorge Rivera-Herrans (He voices of Odysseus) and this is a CONCEPT album not a fully made one. Hope this helps and you keep going on this ride. It is a lot of fun and can be quite moral questioning, like what would you do in that scenario in his shoes.

I am so glad you started checking this out, I have been obsessed for almost a year now. It's so far my favorite musical out there. Like others have mentioned, this is a concept album for what will hopefully eventually be a stage production. It's being released in parts called Sagas. We have all of act 1 which has 5 sagas, and we have 1 saga from act 2 with another coming out soon. It's an absolute masterpiece, and because the creator shares a lot of stuff about his creative process, we know a lot of cool details. So there are tons of fun little things to look out for. For example if you hear singing, like background vocals, it mean there are people actually singing. Unless a god is around, that is, because they can summon their own vocals. Also each character has their own signature instrument. Odysseus has the guitar, and it's acoustic when he's being more emotional/emotion led, and it's electric when he's leading more from the head and ignoring the heart. There are also repeated motifs, and many songs build on previous ones and have call backs. If you've ever seen Hamilton it's like that, only better in my opinion.

Epic the Musical is a Musical currently being written by Jorge Rivera-Herrans, based on the greek epic "The Odyssey". The main character is the titular Odysseus, and we see him here at the end of the Trojan war. Fun fact, Odysseus is the one who came up with the idea to make and use the Trojan horse. Jorge (or Mr. Jalapeno as we like to call him) is the one writing this all, but the animatics are mostly fanmade using what Jorge tells us and what was in the classic Odyssey. Jorge has however gotten some animators on his album (or as we call them, Saga's) debut streams to animate some scenes to provide visuals to the music.

The sitting around the fire is actually the perfect analogy for this, because these stories were passed down, written down, and then put on stage in Ancient Greece. Were basically the first big stage productions we have records of. All these animations are fan made and yes this is one continuous story that follows a man named Odysseus and his way home after the Trojan War! Made by Jorge Rivera Herrans he started this in college and it’s still being made till today the next piece is being released at the end of this month so you got a long way to go 😅

6:13 literally my reaction when i first was listening to this musical and this specific part of the song. i spent weeks singing this no matter what i was doing. A few interesting facts to know: - This is a real musical based of the story of the Odyssey, following Odysseus - The creator is Jorge Rivera-Herrans, who voices Odysseus - All the animatics you'll see are all fan made by various creators - The musical is comprised of 2 Acts, divided into sagas. Currently all of act 1 and the first saga of act 2 is out, with the next being released on the 30th this month - Each important character has their own instrument/s that represent them - In universe, when a mortal sings, any backing vocals has to be other mortals. But gods are more powerful so can summon their own backing vocals.

This is such a great musical, Gigi has an updated video with this song and the next one together with the updated vocals, they had to redo these first albums because the studio messed about. I would recommend you listen to that one so you can hear this one again, and when he sings about how he could send him away and hide who he is, listen to Zeus's lines, it is much easier to hear with the new vocals.

Oh dude you'll LOVE this. Highly recommend continuing with reactions to this. It is a play but it's not finished yet so there's not like a stage play for it, but a bunch of very talented people have done animations like this one to go with it. It follows the tales of Odysseus in The Odyssey. The order is The Troy Saga, The Cyclops Saga, The Ocean Saga, The Circe Saga, The Underworld Saga (my personal favorite so far), and The Thunder Saga. The next is The Wisdom Saga and that will be out on August 30th. Jorge the creator has done an amazing thing putting this story to music. I truly think this is a series you would love to hear more from. I do recommend listening in order since it does tell a story as it goes!

been following you since ATTACK ON TITAN reactions. And I was about to recommend this to you, my fellow AoT fan, for sure you'll gonna love it also! The whole story is composed of 40 songs divided into sagas, 5 songs for each saga. As of now, there are 6 sagas officially released, so it is still ongoing. Aside from the superb music, vocals, & story, the cool thing about this is the fact that only one guy (Jorge) made the music, lyrics, and he is the vocalist for Odysseus. At first, he recorded all the parts of all the characters in the story and shared his process bit by bit in Tiktok. It garnered fans and suddenly many animators made animatics from all the songs, Gigi was one of them. Then another cool thing is he involved the community and hosted auditions for the other characters where all may participate. Take note of all the instruments and melodies, there are recalls from other songs, and each character has their own unique instrument/melody. For example, Odysseus is guitar (nylon guitar for his emotional side, distorted guitar for his cunning side & action). One challenge is to find the danger motif! 😁 Will surely wait for all your reactions in this epic Concept Album of another version of the Story of Oddesy.

Aaaaa yay!! So excited to see you react to this musical! I do recommend reacting to one saga at a time, rather than one song at a time. It’ll keep things more cohesive, and prevent you from having to deal with the absolute worst cliffhangers, plus then you’ll actually catch up in a reasonable amount of time. ;) Troy Saga (of which Horse and the Infant is the first song) is 5 songs, and then the rest of the sagas in act 1 are 4 songs each (except for the last saga of act 1 which is 3 songs). 5 sagas in act 1. I think there are 4 sagas for act 2, only one has been released yet, the second saga of act 2 gets released at the end of August, and I belieeeeve most of the Act 2 are going to be 5 songs long iirc. 40 songs total for the entire musical. Animatics are made by fans but are fairly coherent with one another, as they pull character design inspiration from the cast member appearances, and also Jorge “Jay” Rivera Herrans (composer and voice of Odysseus) provides basic narration/some stage direction/etc in the livestream album releases which can be considered canon.

When I started listening to them there wasn’t a playlist or proper order that I could find, so I had to piece it together myself. And this part wasn’t in any video I found. Idk how I missed this video, but when I tell you I let out a yell of absolute triumph and glee when I saw-!!! Please do continue watching, the entire thing is absolutely fantastic. I would generally suggest reacting to at least a few songs at a time if not one saga at a time just for the sake of time and general story flow. There are a few songs that are simply better if kept together, such as "Polyphemus" and "Survive" in the next saga as well as "Done For" and "Other Ways" in the Circe Saga. In case no one else mentioned it, PLEASE make sure you check for incomplete animatics!! There are many playlists that have old, partial recordings with animatics. If you're looking at the playlist by Amythist Arira, there are MANY songs on the list that aren't complete and some that haven't even been released yet aside from teasers. If you need recommendations for complete playlists, the one by ToastyMadness is pretty good and even includes the latest songs from the Thunder Saga! I would swap out their Polyphemus for the animatic of the same name by Mircsy for consistency, but otherwise the animatics are complete. I look forward to seeing more Epic reactions if you choose to continue the series! ^_^

1. As usual I love the energy in your reactions. It's what really makes me love your reaction channel in particular, your brand of commentary and your energy. 2. It's actually kinda hard to find a story-focused reactor for Epic, so I'm loving that's the angle you're going with. 3. I'm going to have a love-hate relationship with you watching Epic (if you chose to continue) as I'mma love that you're being surprised by things but be soooooo frustated at the lack of basic Odyssey context. 4. Epic is a concept Musical being currently developed (next part coming out on the 30th this month) by Jorge Riverra-Herrans, though many artists in the fandom (like Gigi) have come to make animatics to accompany the songs (all of which build on the story, inspired by the Odyssey) some of whom have even come to be sort of official.

im sure 100 other people are going to say this but Epic: the musical is a concept for a musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans (this is his youtube name also) and tells the story, in Jorge's telling as its not 100% lore accurate, of the trials of Odysseus from the end of the Trojan War and his crew trying to get home. The musical is going to have about 42 songs split into to sections which are broken further into sagas. So far the first half are the trojan saga, cyclop saga, storm saga, cerci saga, and underworld saga, and in the second half the thunder saga is out, and he is starting to give tidbits of the next saga, the wisdom saga. If you plan to continue reacting to this, which i hope you do, id suggest recording saga by saga, for your own retention purposes. Some songs also go straight into the next 1 so might help to combine some videos if u don't want a cliffhanger. As a last note with the release of the Thunder saga the Trojan and Cyclops sagas were remastered, due to ownership issues with the previous label, id suggest looking up newer animatics for them from the last month or so as they will have the new songs, gigi specifically reuploaded the first two songs over as one song with the changes made and some minor art changes. I hope this helped if any and thank you for your continued enjoyment of the rabbitholes ive jumped into lol
