Exactly. Also, that one song is good enough to be repeated 1000 times as an openings. Also, to us the small changes in the words and the visuals mainly hit different. The score throughout the anime, from kurapika's theme is beyond epic. And the show is just the best at its best moments.

These openings actually ARE different in the audio department. There's two versions with different lyrics used, because they pull from different parts of the full song. With that said, the visuals are very different overall. In addition, the final two OPs put some kind of sound filter over the song, so they do actually sound a bit different and as a result OP4 is my favorite. I second all of the people saying to react to the endings though, and maybe the 1999 anime's OPs if you feel like it. All of those will be more interesting than watching the same song 5 times XD

My precious boys Gon and Killua 🥰 Hunter X Hunter does technically have two Opening songs. There are two versions of Departure! and they use them turn about for each new story arc. The Endings however are all different songs and you should definitely check them out. Also check out Noragami Openings as I think you'd enjoy the music and style for them. Same for Blue Exorcist. For the light-heartedness of Hunter X Hunter the first arc was aired on TV in Japan at an earlier time (think equivalent of the UK Watershed) so it had to comply within the bounds of what could be shown during that time. They got a later airing time for other arcs and so parts were much darker than how the first story arc began.

I believe ge-ge-ge no getaro is the other which dealt with classic creatures of legend in Japanese folklore. I know cutie honey changed it’s song for the reboot which just stank. Speed racer kept its song just its rap, rock, or 60s pop but the song is unmistakable.

At 17:00 when you said you're not much of a fan of romantic stuff, you reminded me of my old self... I wasn't too much of a fan of it at first either, probably because I enjoyed other genres (mostly action & dark stuff like you) & also because I didn't actually watch any romance anime & only watched action & darks animes (without any romantic subplot) 😂... But when I actually did watch them (pretty good ones at that), then I fell in love with romance in anime! ❤ Romance in anime is also done pretty different from usual shows irl.. (good) Korean dramas kinda come close to it in terms of feel but it's still difficult to have good romance shows... However, anime really does some magic of it's own! Romance in anime somehow feels more magical & unique... It feels great (only if done right of course) & you just end up loving it! I'm telling you.. at the time of writing this comment you're at 62nd episode of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (FMAB) & in it, you said it yourself! That you want EDWARD & VINRY TO GET MARRIED! & even wanted ALPHONSE to find someone he LOVES AND GET TOGETHER WITH HER! Yup. You can only say something like this when you LIKE the romance in anime (which you said you didn't at 17:00)! And you know what's more funny? FMAB doesn't have much romance either & YET you still ended up wanting it & liking it.. it might also be BECAUSE there's not much amount of romance in the show that you liked & appreciated the little romance part.. but the point is, compared to the romance focused anime (or anime with good romance subplot) FMAB didn't have much to show... although, it was done pretty neat in it's own way.. so you liked it.. WE ALL DID! So that's why you need to check out some good romance animes... Either purely romance focused or with good romantic subplot in which romance ACTUALLY plays an important part in the story or something... not like, just being there for the sake of it (which is exactly what makes people not care about romance even though it's such a beautiful theme presented in anime.. trust me) So yeah, I'll tell you some romance anime that you can check out that I can think on top of my head.. might miss out on many of the other great ones cuz I've watched so many animes over the years since my childhood now & even stopped watching them at all & instead just read manga/novel cuz it's much faster, that I can't remember many good ones on top of my head, even some of the best ones I guess.. but I'll try to select some good ones mixing some old ones I watched when I was younger & some modern ones popular now & list them here... Also just saying, an anime no matter how beautifully animated it gets, if story isn't good it will fall off.. but if an anime even with average animation, has a great source material, it still manages to make an impact on the viewer even with bad animation. So, I might also mention about the source material whether they are good or not for some of the animes below: [purely romance, drama, slice of life genre] * Toradora (one of the first (good) ones I've watched & holds a special place in my heart) * OreGairu (Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru) (one of my favourites! Again it's what I watched when I was young so it's special to my heart... & Also, it's source light novel is one of the best out there! It's among the likes of ToAru & Monogatari light novels!) * Clannad (infamous tearjerker.. one of the first romance ones I watched along with Toradora.. season 1 sets up characters & might feel somewhat boring but trust me season 2 makes it one of the best animes of all time.. not kidding you can go check out how infamous clannas is!) * Anohana (another infamous tearjerker.. although it's focused more on friendship, it's still romance.. again it's one of old ones I watched) * Kaguya-sama: love is war (even if someone who doesn't like romance would watch it cuz it's such a funny show! 😂) * Fruits Basket (this ones a popular & classic shoujo gem (shoujo anime is aimed towards girls.. mostly has romance) it has an old adaptation & a new "remake" version... Watch the remake one) There are tons more like Spice & Wolf, Nagi no Asukara, Wotakoi, Your Lie in April, Kokoro Connect, Bunny girl Senpai, Ef: a tale of memories or some good Shoujo animes like Kimi ni Todoke, Ore Monogatari but I guess these above will be enough to get you started & make you appreciate romance in anime. [Romantic subplot ones] Honestly there are far too many! Even main stream shounen anime (aimed towards young teenage/young adult boys.. mostly don't even have romance) like Naruto, Bleach, Seven Deadly Sins, My Hero Academia, Black Clover has romantic subplot or at the very least romantic pairings.. Even Fate Series has great romance & actually plays important role in story & characters' growth (since Fate Stay/Night originally was an eroge ('erotic-game' in japan.. which is a game or a graphic/visual novel that has sexual content).. so obviously Fate has romance.. Similarly, 86 (Eighty-Six) also has romance down the line.. not shown in anime, but later down in the story in light novel which is very well done & makes the already great story even better! There lots of shows that are & would be recommended to you by people that might have romantic subplot or at least some minor good romance in it! & Believe me... You'll LOVE it! Even Attack on Titan has some romantic pairings which makes the show & characters even better! So I'll just skip this section since you'll be recommended shows with romantic subplot anyways & me recommending it here would only make me harder to pick & list will keep getting bigger... Oh but aside from that I remembered from word Fate "Series", you can check out: * Monogatari Series (a big name & one of the best shows I've ever watched in my life honestly (yeah I'm saying that even after watching all sorts if anime my whole life!) but is difficult for people to recommend since first of all it's watch order is pretty weird cuz it's got many seasons with all different names (like Bakemonogatari, Kizumonogatari etc.) & secondly, even though it's got mystery/action/gore/even psychological at times.. it's got ecchi as well ('H' which stands for 'Hentai' meaning pervert/weird/strange but in this context, pervert in Japanese... & is pronounced as 'ecchi'.. so anime with lewd content is labelled under ecchi genre)).. definitely a must watch if you don't mind ecchi.. & even if you do mind or might feel uncomfortable watching it on stream or with someone.. please just watch it alone or something... Cuz it's an anime you should watch before you die imo... It's also created by Shaft studio (same as Madoka Magica) and is know for it's phenomenal and out of this world unique animation style.. & by the big one I mean in Japan, competition is high, & since people are veterans about anime/manga/novel/games stuff, only good/special series & ones that stand out from crowd get big there.. however, in the rest of the world most of such series aren't widely known because people go for main stream stuff or because of some other reasons... But the point is, if something is big in Japan, you know there's 'something' in it.. As for Monogatari, it's a light novel series with really good & clever writing. Story is fantastic, characters are awesome but seriously the writing is so ingenious & witty that there are so many puns & references that even Japanese people don't get unless they think properly & then end up thinking "wow that is such a genius move!" * ToAru Series (this one is a mixed one for me so you can skip it since anime isn't adapted super great since they had to rush it quite a bit & miss out on many important stuff from the original source light novel but at least remember this series' name.. it's a big one really.. anime isn't all that great for me (except for ToAru kagaku no Railgun which is amazing!) but I'm talking about it because the novel is just that good! the story, world & characters & everything around it is fantastic! So let me say it again... This franchise is massive & very popular in Japan. So at least remember it. so, down the road if you do plan on reading novels or stuff be sure to check it out cuz even if you don't think anime is great the novel is awesome & is one of my favourites even after watching & reading all sorts of stuff!) Well honestly, there are even more great novels, mangas, webtoons & stuff that haven't been adapted to anime yet.. so you're missing out on a lot of them! But for it's fine if you just enjoy anime... Maybe someday you'll go deeper like many of us did! 😂 Seriously, I rarely watch any regular (non-anime) shows now... And after discovering mangas & novels, I rarely watch any anime either. It's just that good. It saves time & is much faster. That way I can experience great stories in a shirter time. Of course if a good TV show or good anime comes out I do watch them when I get time. But other than that I just read the source material. Sorry it got insanely long... just keep this in mind... Romance is unbelievably good when done right.. it's a flavour that enriches the show even if you don't realize it right away.. So you need to check out more romance anime & you'll come to know what I'm talking about. Once you get the taste of good romance in a show, you can never go back! Edit: wow I just check that you have To Aru reactions too! & In that same video you mentioned people recommending Monogatari to you & you even reacted to it! What an insane coincidence... I'm glad you liked them & wanna watch the shows... Monogatari is absolutely brilliant anime adaptation! To Aru is a mixed one for me (Railgun is fantastic adaptation though) but the story is great so do check it out!

It's not quite as old a show as you might think, pretty sure this started to come out in 2011, however this is the second adaptation of the source material (the first adaptation only covered about half of what this one does) which I think started a while ago. The manga is still being written off and on because the author (Togashi) has unfortunately had some health problems.

so as far as the openings go. I always think of them as two pieces, the music and the visuals, and together those pieces make the opening. Of course the biggest part that most people latch on to is the music, but truly great openings also have fantastic visuals

When I watch someone watch an anime opening, I expect them to react to the animations. That's a major part of it along with the music because sometimes the animation can shock people.

The x in Hunter x Hunter is silent. Because it’s not the letter X, it’s a cross. But yeah, the animation definitely matters.

The opening(s) don't give away a lot. I recommend HxH because it's very interesting, unpredictable and gets more adult like. :) I do kind of appreciate you watched them all. :D Yeah, I think checking out the anime is important as well!! But I don't think you needed to watch them all... xD And good you found your fav song out of the Hunter x Hunter opening songs! And this did help me see all the differences. xD The cards aren't a major thing.

What the opening of hunter x hunter demonstrates at least in the vocal section 'If it's not even broken, don't fix it' This is how a series does not need to change every fifteen chapters, you continue as you started, just with another perspective.

There definitely are still a lot of bouncy, happy openings with newer anime - we're just not recommending them to you as much based on what we think you'd like! It is true though, that in the past, there were less openings that used metal or heavy rock, or other musical styles like jazz.

omg no way! i just found your channel today and watched the video where you reacted to attack on titan openings. then, a few hours later, i saw that you posted this video and I'm so happy that you reacted to hxh openings too! this is my favorite anime and I actually only have 2 episodes left until I finish it (for the first time). so I went on youtube to watch other stuff, because this anime became such an important part of my life and I don't want to finish it yet.. at the beggining, it seemed like such a fun and cute anime, but it gets super dark (in the chimera ant arc, it gets REALLY dark), and I also cried a lot towards the end of it. and I will definitely cry a lot when I finish watching it (probably tommorow), because it's the thing that makes me happy and I just can't explain but it's so good and I love everything about it and when I finish it, it will feel like a part of me is missing.. i will always love this anime. it makes you feel happy but also so sad at some times, and it makes you want to be there with the characters, help them, fight next to them, and just be friends with them...

I had to audibly laugh at your visible confusion by the third opening lol, the show is amazing and the opening is amazing for all 148 episodes. oh, and to answer your question, I like seeing you react to both the animation and the song. also also, you should check out the opening for "mushoku tensei" as the song and everything are amazing, though it doesn't really have an opening video like most anime, you'll see what I mean if you check it out

You should watch the 1999 opening song of Hunter x Hunter . The first season opening is so chill, wholesome, and nostalgic sounding. And the second season opening song is so dark and it gives you goosebumps.

Personally, I remember mentioning for you to react to the opening and the endingS. Also, I want people to react to both the music and the animation as a whole when I recommend them something because that is what I am doing. As for recommendations, aside from the obvious suggestion to check the wildly different endings of HxH(they are actually different): - To Aru Series(Index - Railgun - Accelerator was the order they aired). - Shakugan no Shana is older but has quite catchy songs for both OPs and EDs. - The same can be said for Magi. - As well as Akame ga Kill. . . Timezones are rough so say hi to Twitch chat from me. :D

So essentially an opening consists of the song and the visuals , if the visuals ever change that can be considered a new opening, the new visuals can usually add context to current events in the show or in the case of jojos bizarre adventure be something you look forward to as a spectacle in the final episode of a season as the visuals change to show the enemy’s power and add sound effects to the action

I thnk the reason Departure is used often is becuase it's an iconic song. Hunter x Hunter is an iconic anime made by a legendary mangaka. Fans waited a looooooooong time for hunter x hunter to be continued, the reason is becuase the author got sick while working on this and was unable to work on this for a while. It first got released in the 90s and since then, this song would play on the radio and in conventions in Japan and other parts of Asia, and everyone knows this song and that it's from hunter x hunter EVEN IF they weren't a fan. It was THAT iconic. Everytime this song would play in a convention in my country, EVERYONE will literally sing to it. regardless of age.

Generally speaking, the visual part of the openings are as important as the music. Particularly with hunter x hunter also shows how the story progresses so it's more emotional for people who have watched the anime and know the characters and what happens. Regarding the song, it's a pretty happy and lighthearted song that contrasts a lot with the anime which can get pretty sad and dark at times.

There's a whole genre of youtubers that just review new anime openings, And yes, as I've seen they mainly focus on the animation and rarely mentions the song.. Mainly because they are reviewing and analyzing the animation studios art style and story telling skills to see how the anime/new season is going to be, so yes i would asume a lot of people are expecting you to watch the visuals. Although i actually find it refreshing to see someone focus on the songs, they are often overlooked by the film maker experts when they do reviews so to see someone that knows what they are talking about when it comes to the sound department is quite fun.

I also thought it was a joke when I was watching. every 20 episodes or so, I was like "they'll definitively change it this time" but nope. I guess that's the reaction the people that recommended it to you wanted. Or maybe they also wated the endings, which are all different and way better than the opening imo. BUT since you mentioned, why not go down the Yu Gi Oh openings rabbit hole? They are quite... well, interesting at worst and there are some bangers in there as well.

You were watching the openings for the 2nd adaptation beginning in 2011. And yes most of us want you to react to both the music and visuals. BTW the first adaptation beginning 1999, had multiple openings for both music and visuals. The first closing song from 1999 is probably my favorite song from either adaptation.
@YukiFubuki.2 жыл бұрын
anime opening isnt just solely the songs, the visuals itself is also a big part of the experience and can add an extra element to the overall experience too since they go hand in hand with each other, even when it purposely doesnt like death parade's opening flyers which features the characters dancing to an upbeat jazz-like song accompanied by some really whimsical visuals but the subject matter about judging people after death is anything but what the opening makes it out to be and in the same vein girl's last tour opening is a really cutesy and silly song featuring the 2 main characters in various scenarios and even a bit of dancing yet the the anime is actually a slice of life about said 2 girls traversing the ruined world as possible the last 2 humans left alive after a huge devastating war another would be code geass' last opening where is a very much a song about hope yet the current events of the anime where its used involved an all out war and characters dying, the director actually states that to show the characters smiling considering the current events they really have no time to smile

I always found it interesting that Killua looks so cute in this opening if you didn't realize that he can rip your heart out and watch it beat while you die.
