What’s so powerful about this song, is it’s written in a time where Jelly was in an awful place, and there’s so many people that can relate to this in the world But the strength of the song is that he’s come through it and is thriving with a loving wife and incredible career

15 years sober & clean. My day starts with my pledge. Then i listen to this song with my coffee. EVERY DAY! Reminds me to NEVER allow myself to go back to that person. A very good woman stuck with me through my worst; i owe her the rest of my life to make it up to her.

If you watch some of his interviews he has done you will find where he was and what gave him the hope to get out and stay out. He is an inspiration to so many in the world. Human feelings are the emotional bonds that allow us to relate to all other human beings. Just like we all bleed red, no matter ethnicity, culture influences and what we see and experience.

Not everything and everyone can be fixed or healed, I know with me the more people try to get to the bottom of it and help me the more it unravels at the end and im worse off, I keep it to myself and keep moving with no attempt to fix the pain

Everyone’s different. I know my bf is like that- he always says to just push the pain down instead of talking.

We live in a world where talking to artists even if it’s a message that is seen but not answered is easier than ever. I know with some artists who are coming up the encouraging words they receive help them hold onto their dreams and even the more mainstream artists see the effect of their music and yes I think it is a big motivator. Like you this was my first Jelly Roll song ansonsten was so touched by it. Anything he does is great. I’m partial to Creature, it is my favorite but their is power in all his music. Don’t miss going dow. The JR rabbit hole, you won’t regret it.

This song fits me way too well. I've been an absolute mess since I retired from the USN. I've dealt with issues with drinking and now that Marijuana is legal in my state it has the potential of being just one more escape route. I'm dealing with PTSD anxiety and depression every day. More than one my guardian angel has worked overtime because there have been more than a few times these past couple years where I came way to close to doing what the insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan could not. There is also a version of this song that is a duet with Lainey Wilson too that is worth a listen too. That was the version I first heard over the radio.

I'm not sure if you've ever heard Chris Stapleton, if you haven't then you should, he has an incredible voice & he's an incredible songwriter. Though, if you're being introduced to Chris Stapleton you should start with Chris Stapleton - Tenessee Whiskey (Austin City Limits Performance), it's a live version & amazing. Awesome reaction btw, hope you're doing well.
