everything in this video is real, they didnt pay for anything. and actually made alot of money due to the sponsors at eh end. The chick in the black bikini was also his GF at the time. and they actually returned all the cameras and equipment they used to shoot the video after it was made to save even more of the money. Dicky is a genius.

Lil Dicky is such a good add in to your list. He is hilarious but also a super technical rapper. I have heard these so many times and still catch a bar or reference every now and then i hadnt pucked up on before. Just jam packed with good stuff while being super entertaining. Look like a damn fool at the gym when im listening to him laughing mid set. Im ok with it though....

Most rappers use bars like a blunt instrument and try to club you over the head with it. LD wields a scalpel. In order to be a comedian, you have to understand people on a deep level. But doctors learn how to destroy you *as* they are learning how to heal. Same with comedians. In order to know whats gonna make people laugh, you gotta learn what makes them cry. Dicky thrusts (pause) at exactly where he's aiming to hit you. He can make a catchy, poppy song wreck your heart when he wants to. (Molly). He can give you a case of warm fuzzies. (The 90s). Sure, every artist has sad or happy songs, but its different. Like I said, it clubs you over the head. Just beats you with the point. Emo kid sad. Me angry rapper. Me have vagina, roar! Me like pickup truck! Me like using iphone at starbuck! You know exactly the genres and multiple example songs from each. Dicky doesn't do that. He decides how he wants you to feel, aims with a laser scope, and fires. The track barely matters. He crafts the words to lead you where he wants you to go without ever telling you.

He is a gimmick rapper. lol I mean its totally fine if you like the gimmick, I personally find some of his songs funny/witty, but he isn't really a technical rapper. lol He just knows how to stay on beat. It's like Weird Al Yankovic for the modern audience. Which serves a purpose, but how many people you know bumping Weird Al today? lol When you're a gimmick then your sound quickly becomes dated. I was really hoping he would slowly transition to serious rap, but after Freaky Friday and Earth I quickly realized what he was about. And its about making videos that generate a bunch of views, and not so much making good songs. lol At the end of the day he is an average rapper who hit a niche. Which still shows talent on his part, but it in no way makes him a top or technical rapper. He is just okay at rapping. I would love to know what other hip hop you listen to in where you think you have to "catch" all of his bars. lol They aren't that complex at all. Your confusing having a decent flow with having complex lyrics. He has some of the most simple lyrics of any rapper, but he makes them funny, which tricks people like you into thinking they are more clever than they actually are. Could he be a great technical rapper? Possibly. But he hasn't shown that. He has doubled down on doing stupid, simply gimmicks and making his rapping more and more pop as time goes. His first album and songs before that were promising, but he never evolved past it.

It is all real. There is a whole documentary on his KZbin page that goes into much more detail about what they spent and how they made money off the sponsors and returning everything. The only thing they ended up spending money on was paying the crew and having to cater lunches per union rules.
