Yes its normal for people to make a large amount of kimchi at once as its eaten with almost every meal as a side dish! Food and meals are an important part of Korean culture if you watch K-dramas there is ALWAYS food and meals involved somewhere and its also very rare for people to eat alone and some places in Korea wont serve people who are alone. Also Korean, Chinese and Japanese chopsticks are all slightly different to each other lol.

Hi Luke, I enjoyed watching this episode with you. Kimchi is pickled vegetables, it can be cabbage, lettuce, radish or perilla leaf and it's supposed to be fermented for days to get the full flavor. Kimchi is rich in probiotics so it's good for the gut. It's also an acquired taste bec it can be spicy. I hope you can try tasting it some time bec it's really good 😊.

Kimchi is like the equivalent to pickles. It is a vegetable, usually cabbage or radish, that get fermented in seasonings

Hi Luke! I’m still watching your BTS when I can! I look forward to it all the time! Being of Japanese descent, a Japanese Asian Fusion restaurant won’t have the best kimchi at all. My Korean relatives made all kinds of kimchi and they didn’t even have a recipe to give but in this episode, they pre-made all the sauce that is usually quite spicy especially for people not used to it. It’s an acquired taste but I love it! Normally where I live in Toronto, Canada, we don’t use a huge mini pool like they did but we use large buckets with lids. They’re usually all kinds of different vegetables that gets spicer and not flavourful and less salty as it sits for at least a month for us before eating it with rice, food, etc. It’s considered a staple side dish rather than a meal. I found it funny that Jimin did so little! The Asian cabbage is usually a very common one. Of course you knew Jin was great at cooking. Suga also is great. Jk got much better too. Tae is known for his plating! I don’t think you’ve gotten to the ones where Jin and Suga have to give instructions to members to cook. I forgot the names of those episodes. the good about the kimchi you can still eat it if you store them in refrigerator like many months, many people say that if you store kimchi like longer in refrigerator its more taste good

Oh, chopsticks even vary in countries because of the food! I have problems when going to a Japanese restaurant owned by Korean who provide Korean chopsticks! 🥢 he he he! Would love to see you do a Mukbang while watching these! 💜

Kimchi is cabbage, but when I tried it it was too salty/spicy for my liking, but the many varieties they showed has to offer many different tastes, so can't say I have fairly given it a shot.
