This is still one of my faves (maybe even the most favourite) SuperM title tracks. I recommend "I Can't Stand The Rain" and "Wish You Were Here" from them; not title tracks, but they are very fun to listen to (especially as a Taemin fan). The members are: Baekhyun (Exo), Taemin (Shinee), Kai (Exo), Taeyong (NCT; NCT 127), Mark (NCT; NCT 127, NCT Dream), Ten (NCT; WayV) and Lucas (former NCT and WayV). Baekhyun is their official leader, and I am not sure if Lucas will be a part of future projects (if there are any).

My boys! I really really adore SuperM as I was a fan of all the members before SuperM was announced. They got a LOT of mockery and opposition when they were first announced in 2019 but Baekhyun said they would prove themselves and to me they did that and more. They debuted in the autumn of 2019 with an MV called Jopping and a mini album and immediately went on tour in the US and Europe. Their show was a mixture of these new SuperM stages, some duets as well as solo stages from all the members. Can you imagine the joy of seeing Baekhyun and Taemin singing on the same stage or Taemin performing with his best friend Kai and dancing with Ten and Taeyong who have looked up to him for years? Watching them all perform together was pure joy. They were on tour in fact when the whole world was shut down and then they did their best to figure out how to stay connected to their new fans and bring some fun and happiness to 2020. They put out an amazing full album in 2020. Baekhyun, Taemin and Kai all put out solo albums in 2020 (including Kai's debut). They did a reality show and a variety show of their own which were hysterical. It was such a tough year but my memories are full of SuperM and laughter too for which I am incredibly grateful. After only about a year and half of working together (they did put out a fun single called We Do in 2021 which you would really enjoy I think) they paused activities as both Baekhyun and Taemin enlisted in 2021. There was a hint that they would do something together again before Kai's enlistment but that never came to pass. We are still waiting and will have to wait longer as Kai is still away and Taeyong will also enlist this year (the last/youngest of the Korean members to do so) so who knows when we'll see SuperM do something together again. Hope springs eternal though! :)

Ooh Super M! They were my first K-pop concert in 2020.. little did I know what I was actually witnessing lol. But I was immediately smitten with Baekyun and Taemin during their solo performances. Kai was doing Kai things (if you’ve seen Confession…). Ten (our tiger at the beginning) blew me away with his dance performance of Dream in a Dream… I recommend checking that out. I’m not the biggest fan of heavy rapping, but Taeyong, Mark, and Lucas slayed. Always enjoy watching someone discover Super M; this group is a spur in the wheel that is SM lol

"Tiger Inside" was a pre-release track from SuperM's first full-length album Super One released in 2020. To help you identify the members, using the still image at the end of the "Tiger Inside" MV, from left: > Lucas was a former rapper and visual of WayV/NCT-U, he is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong. > Ten is the main dancer and a lead vocalist from WayV/NCT-U, he is Thai. > Baekhyun is a main vocalist of EXO and the leader of SuperM, he is Korean. > Taemin is the main dancer and a lead/main vocalist from the legendary group SHINee, as well as one of the most popular solo artists, he is Korean. > Taeyong is a main rapper, main dancer and the leader of NCT (he is part of NCT-127/NCT-U), he is Korean. > Kai is the main dancer, a lead vocalist, sub-rapper and center of EXO, he is Korean. > Mark is a main rapper and main dancer of NCT (NCT-127, NCT-U and NCT-Dream), he is Korean-Canadian. Ten is also one of the best dancers in all of Kpop, on par with Kai's and Taemin's skill set. Check out Ten's solo work and you will see what I mean. I think that the "Tiger Inside" MV may be connected to EXO's "Wolf" MV. In "Wolf" we see that EXO are a wolf pack that is dressed in all white and they are inside an all-white den or cave, just like the SuperM members who are dressed in all white and are in a white cave/the tiger's lair in "Tiger Inside." And in "Wolf" the choreography was designed to make the EXO members look like they are wolves or beasts, whereas in "Tiger Inside" the choreography was also designed to make them look like beasts or tigers. Fun fact: That breakout dance move with Taeyong and Mark in the choreography, doesn't just go along with the beat, but when you watch the dance practice you will see it's supposed to be Taeyong trying to assert his dominance and battle with Mark. Taeyong elbows Mark in the head, which causes him to stumble, then Taeyong pushes him away with his hand (i.e. paw), which causes Mark to spin around to face Taeyong and then Taeyong raises his claws above his head and strikes out at Mark to cause Mark to step away, etc. I think they are supposed to look like tigers preparing for battle with the Red Force, so they are practicing their fighting skills. The outfits they are wearing at the end are modern versions of traditional Korean outfits and blue, white and gold are usually royal colors that often indicate status and power. Nothing is "random." That end pose is similar to an image you often see in historical dramas or action movies as the heroes or main characters are getting ready for battle. Therefore, this MV is all about SuperM preparing for the fight with the Red Force. It's all part of SuperM's storyline, and it gives you a good chance to really look at them and get to know their faces better. So, this is just another reason why I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups. However, as you know, no one really knows what is happening for sure in SM's Universe storyline. It's all fan theories and educated guesses. SM has never confirmed nor denied any of our theories and they have never explained anything. They have left it up to the fans to interpret the story and connect the pieces. And what makes this even more difficult is the story isn't being told in chronological order, so as fans you have to pay attention to everything and remember what you have seen and heard in previous content in order to decide where each piece fits within the larger storyline. And, as you have seen, it's not just MVs, but it's with everything they do including teaser videos, concert VCRs (short videos played at concerts in between sets), live performances, song lyrics, online content released by SM, special extras included when you purchase an album, etc. It's super complex and all encompassing.

They truly are super - they are all excellent vocalists, they can all rap well and they are all superb dancers. Add the visuals and stunning performance skills and they really are amazing. It is anyone's guess if they will return as they currently have Kai on military service, then Taeyong will go, and Lucas has left. Also, they were Lee Soo Man's dream group, and he's gone too. Lots of fans of the original groups were not happy as they thought this would take their members away from their original groups, so they were not universally appreciated, but they were targeted at the western market with the hope that they would carry their original fans over while gaining lots of new ones, and they did do well over here. Their tracks are quality and the live performances were excellent, so definitely treat yourself by checking out more of them.

EXO, SHinee and NCT are my ult groups and a big reason for that is SuperM! Hopefully we'll get a comeback some day but it'll be years if ever as Kai is enlisted and Taeyong will be enlisted before Kai returns. Miss you Lucas! I will be here for whatever future projects you have wherever and whenever they may be.

I miss SuperM. They got so much hate but that group introduced me to Ten. There were too many damn NCT members for me to pay attention to them. And putting Ten, Baekhyun and Taemin all in one place just wrecks me.

Here’s some info for ya: In 2019, SM collaborated with Capitol Records, USA, and assembled a group of seven of the best artists in KPOP to debut in the USA: SuperM. In fact, they even collaborated with Marvel after having been dubbed the Avengers of KPOP. Taemin was the first chosen and helped pick the other six members. Though not the eldest member, he is the senior member of the group due to the length of time he’s been in the industry (14+ years). As such, he would have been leader, but he deferred that task to Baekhyun of the group EXO (who’s slightly older than Taemin). Taemin has been the maknae of SHINee his entire career and didn’t feel he would be best suited to lead the others. However, he is the center of the group and they ALL (including Baekhyun) defer to his experience and take his advice to heart. He is very caring towards his dongsaengs (juniors) and was nicknamed Taemresa (inspired by Mother Teresa). Baekhyun is an *amazing* leader, by the way…don’t want anyone to misunderstand my intentions behind what I’ve said. Their group dynamic is truly special. Unfortunately, I highly doubt we will be seeing any more SUPER M releases. That was Lee Soo Man's brainchild and he's no longer there. They were supposed to be releasing a new album well over a year ago. NCT and EXO fans were not terrible happy about it because they felt certain members were being overworked.
