Finally someone figured out that in order to react to something, you actually have to shut up long enough to experience it in its entirety. Such a powerful version of this song deserves to be experienced emotionally not paused and talked over. Well done, you did yourself a favor.

Just to clarify for you, yes, her reaction conveys the emotions someone feels and the changes therein as they listen. KZbin, however, strikes channels for not commenting continuously throughout a "reaction" video, which is why many channels don't "react" as authentically as she does.

There’s a folkloric character in Africa called the “town crier”, which is someone who speaks to the village when danger is coming. The town crier doesn’t scream, he doesn’t yell. The town crier just walks through the village speaking, and he has such a powerful hypnotic authoritative voice that people can’t help but to stop anything they’re doing and just listen to this commanding voice. It raises over any other voice. And it's the voice that the town would rise up to hear, as if they were being called by some powerful force that tunes their minds and souls and shuts down any other thought. That’s David Draiman. His voice is pure soul and will, powerful and with such authority. He means every word, and he makes you feel it in your guts. He touches your deepest strings as soon as he opens his mouth. You feel like you're being called. And this version is outstanding. Some people say you can listen to the original song as many times as you want, but you never hear the song until you hear this version, and that’s when you hear the song for the first time.

It is said that Simon & Garfunkel's version was a warning of what was to come if we didn't change our ways, & Disturbed's version, is a reaction of anger, because we did not heed their warnings......great reaction Ella 👍 This brought me to tears to, the 1st time I heard it.......so powerful, and passionate !!!

I'm 73, and can remember from the early 1960's when the original writer, Paul Simon, released it as a folk song. It was so beautiful and serene back then. Of course, the Disturbed version of the song is so powerful! I really loved your innocent first-time reaction in watching it. I can't think of a more introspective, truth-seeking, or searching song in my life better than this. Thanks so much for your review.

@@Chief2Moon That actually fits the comment which is commonly used for this song about the first iteration being a warning while Draiman´s version is the anger of the warning not being heeded. What Paul is actually stating is that only anger remains.

The first time I heard this band and his voice it was something I haven't heard in a long time there's only been two bands that's been on this level and vocalists who have been on the same realm if that makes any sense to you? Number one was Pantera and Phil onsomno his voice can go from aggressive heavy metal dominating sound up in your face to a soft clean Harmony voice and that's freaking very hard to do especially in the same song and then there's Disturbed and this guy absolutely one of the best that I've ever heard....let's not forget the band too the band what makes the music

What’s lovely about your reaction is to see that we all feel the same upon our first-hearing of this beauty. (gobsmacked - speechless) I’m old, so I remember when Simon & Garfunkel first sang this song to us. That gentler, acoustic-experience, has affected me my whole life since. THIS cover is a, “You were warned, why didn’t you listen?”, follow-up by a very different, contemporary artist. Sort of a, “Can you hear me now?”, moment. Holy cow!!

I think you exaggerate! It is simply that this song is for this age, while the original is from it's own age. I would say that this cover is very good, but cannot be remotely compared to Simon and Garfunkel's masterpiece. I've listened to the original many thousands of times in my lifetime and still have to sit and listen to the whole thing when I hear it. As good as this cover is, it isn't in that league, while he isn't in the same league as Art and Paul.

Paul Simon wrote this in 1964ish..You heard the song but you didn't listen to the song. Paul Simon's version was the warning in 1965..Disturbed was the rage that no one listened and we are where we are today because people hear but they do not listen. Paul wrote about the future and it is here. Cell Phones..everyone's nose is in their phone. Internet , Remote everything, Video Games no one Listens anymore. Words of the Prophets are written on the subway walls and tenement halls. I knew when I hear Simon version he was trying to tell us things in 1965 . Listen listen close, do not just hear Listen.
