@@RadioTeo Voice Play are a very theatrical acapella group They were actually discovered by Disney who assigned them as their acapella group for the Disney songs. Voice play owns Disney cover songs. With every song that voice play sings whether it be Disney or otherwise they always stick to the original song for the most part and always put a little twist of their own to it that way they can call it their own . You will never find a better theatrical acapella group than Voice Play. Please do a reaction video of Voice Plays version of I Got Friends on The Other Side.

Glad you found Voiceplay - I really enjoyed your reaction! The bass is Goeff (Jeff) Castellucci, and he has a channel of his own. He has a range of 5 octaves and 'clones' himself for his videos. 'Oogie Boogie's Song' , '16 Tons' or 'Blackbird' are great examples of what he can do. Eli (Ellee), the wizard, can sing anything - full smooth to rock screams. Cesar (the dark elf in chainmail) is the newest member. Layne is the beatboxer, and he is a full orchestra's worth of percussion. Omar (the wood elf) is a guest singer who has worked with them in 'Superstition' and 'Carry On Wayward Son'. One of their members (J.None) has joined the Navy but returned on leave for 'Friends On the Other Side'. Layne and Geoff do all the arrangements, Eli did the lighting for this one - they do everything themselves. 'Hoist the Colours', 'Queen in 5 Minutes', and 'My Mother Told Me' are some of their more theatrical ones. If you are a gamer try 'ACA Top Ten Video Games' and 'Halo' videos. Have fun - welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole!

Welcome in kind sir. The Acapella fans love Pentatonix, VoicePlay and Home Free. This group as you've seen is bit more theatrical, Home Free also has five members, a phenomenal bass and competition winning beatboxer as well as three other singers. Home Free are very down to earth, country-ish guys, though they sing other things as well. Can't go wrong no matter who you listen to, they're all that good.

Everything they do is well researched and arranged by themselves. The main difference with VoicePlay is that often they include a theatrical element. They cover everything from Disney to game themes, and all in between. In older videos you'll see a differen line up. Ceasar de la Rosa is the newest member after two previous members left. They've been giong for about 20 yrs or so and the line up has changed a couple of times.

VoicePlay is terrifically talented and creative a cappella group. They tend to be more theatrical in tone than the other a cappella groups- most of the members have former experience as Disney performers (the group is based in Orlando, Florida)- but that takes nothing away from their top tier vocal performances. With their background, and the amicable relationship they have with Disney, they tend to do a lot of Disney covers and medleys, but they also have more straightforward performances like Bridge Over Troubled Water, Carry On Wayward Son (this one also features Omar Cardona, the archer in this video), We're Good, Bang, and so on. One of the things that I like most about this group is their creative control over the entire process, and their willingness to take some risks the other a cappella groups don't. Either Geoff Castellucci (the bass) or Layne Stein do 99% of their arrangements (this song was arranged by Geoff), and whoever arranges the song also directs and edits the video, as well as doing the initial sound engineering before sending it to Ed Boyer for the final mix. Eli (rhymes with 'jelly'; tenor extraordinaire in the hood) Jacobson does the lighting effects. Cesar De La Rosa (the guy with the gauntlets) is the newest member, replacing J. None who left earlier this year to join the Navy (J. None himself replaced Tony Wakim about five years prior- I mention all these guys because if you go down the rabbithole, you're going to wonder who some of the people are). VoicePlay is still down one permanent member since Earl Elkin Jr. left them in 2020 (hence the featured artists), but they haven't let that slow them down at all. They're still looking for their fifth permanent member.

For their Disney stuff, I highly recommend their Little Mermaid medley. Geoff as Ursula is not to be missed! They often collaborate with a 5th or 6th singer, like Rachel Potter as Ariel. They made Hoist the Colors from PotC with Jose Rosario, who tours with Hamilton and went to school with Cesar, the newest VP member. Geoff started letting his hair grow long just before his son was born in April 2017. He's also been working on singing deeper. His current record is a B0 in their cover of the Halo theme. The a cappella community is a big family and often work together. Geoff sings Mr Grinch in Peter Hollens' video of Christmas Movie theme songs. Peter has sung duets like Greensleeves with Tim Foust, bass singer of Home Free, as well as with the whole HF group. Avi, former bass of Pentatonix, did Ring of Fire with Home Free, and then makes a cameo appearance in Champagne Taste (On a Beer Budget) which Tim wrote. Rob Hollens, tenor from Home Free, appears in Voiceplay's Top 10 Movie Themes. In Just Sing, Voiceplay invited many of their collaborators to join in the song that's a fundraiser for musicians out of work because of the pandemic. You also get to see Geoff and Tim sing side by side. The two groups did a video together in full makeup and costumes, Zombies vs Hillbillies - Survivor. It's a hoot.

OK, looks like other commenters have introduced you to Geoff. The other singers are, from left to right, Cesar De La Rosa (baritone/tenor), the amazing Omar Cardinal (featured guest-he’s worked with them in other videos), Eli (ELee) Jacobson (killer tenor), and Layne Stein (beatboxer extraordinaire). Geoff arranged this song (he and Layne take turns). Eli did the lighting which is as good as I’ve seen by people who do it professionally. They keep a lot of this stuff in house and yet put out videos that look like they hired a big production company to do it for them. Other songs you might like (someone mentioned most of the favorites on Geoff’s channel so I won’t repeat): Hoist the Colours. Halo Theme, My Mother Told Me, and come Halloween you should probably check out Oogie Boogie’s song from Nightmare Before Christmas. Great reaction, and welcome to the rabbit hole!

Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole! I would love to see you react to Geoff's 'Misty Mountain Cold', you were impressed by Bass singing... well, Geoff can bring it! Voiceplay are the 'theatre kids' of the acapella groups, and they don't just sing, they bring us a full production with every new release. And every new release from Voiceplay has lately been... just... so... good! You were talking about the structure of acapella groups, and it goes back to Rockapella in 1986, who set the standard for this kind of musical interpretation. You break the music down to percussion (Layne doing vocal percussion), a Bass line (Bass singing by Geoff), and then you build chords, and chords seem to reach for three note chords.. they just sound better when you have three higher singers (Eli and Ceasar, and a guest), supported by a bass singer and percussion. That having been said, Voiceplay has had a LOT of different guest singers through the years, and they always mix it up. One thing that is amazing is that they do their own arrangements. Everything you hear from them is arranged by Layne or Geoff (Check out 'We're Good' for an exception to this rule!). The quality of their arrangement is world class. Their singing is world class, their production values are world class. They have really stepped up their game lately, and I'm really looking forward to what you react to next!

Wow! You picked a heck of a piece to start out with. This is easily their most dramatic and probably most complex piece they’ve done. They do an amazing assortment of styles so don’t expect full costuming and total craziness on every piece. They do a lot of Disney pieces they do a lot of medleys they do a lot of pop. But they also really love the theatrical pieces. Welcome to the craziness that is VoicePlay. The language they are singing in is Dragonspeak. You can find the words and translation online. The composer Jeremy Soules came up with it for the game. I’m not a gamer, but the Dragonspeak is shouted and the shouts you hear (huh!hoh! and FUS DO RAH) are Dragonspeak that the Dragonborn can use for power. Check out the reaction by What It Do Dave for more in depth. He LOVES Skyrim and explains it so well. At one point I think he has tears in his eyes because they were so true to the spirit of the game.

And all of Voiceplay’s work is good, though you’ll find different members through the years. Right now they’re at four steady members; Geoff (Jeff) the Bass the one with the chain mail, Cesar, their baritone the guy in the robe, Eli, (pronounced “L-E”) their tenor And Layne, the Beat Boxer. It's hard to believe, but that is really Geoff Castellucci's (Jeff) actual voice. He actually hits a lower note in HALO but you can't hear it nearly as well. He did all the arranging for this one and about half the others. He also has a solo channel and does incredible work there too. If you want all bass, try Misty Mountains. Layne, the beatboxer, does the other half and a lot of the set work. Eli (Ellie) the necromancer, does most of the lighting and hits those amazing high tenor notes and can sound like a rock star. Cesar, the dark elf, is the newest member and has an incredible voice to add to the mix. That chain mail he's wearing is 20 pounds. Omar, the wood elf, is a guest star and has done two other songs with them. LOL Welcome to the VoicePlay fan club! They are known as the #TheatreKidsOfACappella because of their sets and costumes. About half of their videos are like this one, the other half are like PTX. This is a really deep rabbit hole and anything you pick to listen to will be amazing! Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean was my favorite until this one and will also blow you away. If you listen to HALO please listen all the way to the end. Look this group up, VoicePlay has been active for a couple of decades and are legitimate contenders for the best acapella group along with Pentatonix and Home Free. Geoff Castelluccu is the magnificent bass (has hit A0) and arranger par excellence, Layne is the beat boxer (also violinist and nice voice when he's not using it for percussion), Eli (pronounced L.E) is that incredibly high countertenor with strong voice, Caesar is fairly new to the group and lovely voice (check out Hoist the Colors). VoicePlay lost 2 singers, one to family medical issues and one to the armed service. They use featured singers to round out the 5 - in the case Omar Cardona but all are spectacular. Geoff does singles or sometimes 4 or 5 of himself when he needs backup. I found this group in October when KZbin put a link to the video Monster Mash (one of my favorite Halloween songs). From there I listened to some more of Geoff, then his group VoicePlay. I was gobsmacked. Some of my favorites are the aforementioned HtheC, Blackbird (Geoff only), Oogie Boogie Song, Friends on the Other Side, Phantom of the Opera, My Mother Told Me, Tennessee Whiskey, Daddy Sang Bass, Halo Theme, The Man in the Mirror. Hundreds to choose from. Don't stint yourself. Geoff has worked in Universal Studios and Disney so has a fair grasp of staging and costuming.

The bass, Geoff Castellucci, is also a 'singer'. As you see more of their work you see just how good he is. He has a 5 octave range, and has his own solo channel, with incredible work. Voice Play is unique in the acapella world, in that they do all the own arrangements, production, etc. Incredibly talented!

Congratulations on discovering Voiceplay. Try Hoist The Colours next. They also do fun, Disney stuff. They were on The Sing Off the year after Pentatonix, alongside Home Free. If you're on an acapella journey, you'll find the top 3, Pentatonix are the choir kids, Voiceplay are the theatre kids and Home Free are the cowboys in the car park. Not seen Home Free yet? Well, there's another rabbit hole for you and another stunning bass and beatboxer. Try a fun one like Hillbilly Bone and then a serious one like How Great Thou Art as suggestion of range.

If you look at a capella groups, five is a very popular number. Pentatonix, Voice Play, and Home Free each have five members. Voctave, on the other hand, has 11 members and they achieve harmonies that are just unbelievable. There is a really great solo a capella artist out there--Peter Hollens. He is a master at layering and harmonizing with himself. Check out his cover of "Shenandoah". He also does work with other artist. You may want to check out Peter Hollens and Tim Foust (bass for Home Free) doing "Misty Mountain" from "The Hobbit".

Welcome to VoicePlay's world, and Geoff Castellucci's world in particular. They always deliver amazing performances, and Geoff absolutely kills it on his solo channel. You should look into some of his work. Maybe Sixteen Tons, House of the Rising Sun, or Shenandoah. You'll be completely blown away. Either way, I tend to like VoicePlay more than I like Pentatonix. Pentatonix feels too... serious with their productions. Like, they're just trying too hard to be intense. VoicePlay... they play with it and have fun, and that's just all there is to that XD Like, as killer of a performance as they give, you can just feel the fun they're having performing at that level. It makes the experience for the audience just more enjoyable and easier for us to have fun with as well.

Geoff Castelucci is the bass singer, he has his own Channel on KZbin and does some of his own productions, it's worth checking him out. He has a 5 octave range which is phenomenal for a bass singer. On his channel, Blackbird really highlights his range, but the epic one from him is Misty Mountains Cold from the movie Lord Of The Rings. Voiceplay has the benefit of Layne (the beatboxer) part owning a studio, (Pattycake Productions) and so it's easier for them to do a complete production. Set, Lighting, Costume, Make-up and each singer in the group gets into character in most of the songs, so they sing straight from the heart. They go the whole 9 yards to do all this and make it look great as well as sounding spectacular. Check out their previous one, The Greatest Showman to see how far they go to make it special. Also check out the Moana medley and The Little Mermaid Medley to see them sing while completely in character. For a good peek at Geoff's bass, the Oogie Boogie song and the Halo Theme give you an idea of Geoff's ability to make your bass speakers walk around the room, although headphones are a must for fisrt time listening.

Voice Play is a very theatrical acapella group. They Doo all their own editing & production. They are and amazing. The bass singer is Geoff Castellucci ( Geoff is pronounced Jeff ). The beat boxer is Layne, either he or Geoff do the arrangements to all their songs. Check out their version of Queen In 5 Minutes, Hoist the Colors from Pirates of the Caribbean just to name a few. Quick tip for improving and growing your channel: KZbin takes a look at the average watch time and viewer retention your videos get and recommends them accordingly. A video that is watched all the way through is more likely to get recommended than a video that gets clicked off of at the start. The reason I say this is because I noticed you repeat a lot of the same things, basically talking about the same few points the whole time without bringing up anything new. If you would like to make sure your viewers stay watching the whole time, I would suggest thinking of different topics to talk about throughout the video (and cut out the parts where youre thinking about what to say) Not saying this to be mean at all, you just seem like a nice guy and Id like to help out your channel
