Zhou Shen is a male singer that has the most unbelievable range from baritone to high soprano he was 18 at the time of this production. Sa Dingding is the greatest female vocalist in China and a Chinese folk singer mostly doing Mongolian folk songs she was 42 at this time. It was an outdoor concert celebration of the Chinese autumn lunar festival, the moon was the real moon and the lunar moths were drones. The song was from a Chinese fantasy television series which Sa Dingding acted in. She also wrote the song for the series. I am American and my wife is Chinese (not Chinese American) we watched this live on a signal on Wechat from her sister who was there at the show.

Thanks for your great reaction, CV. Both of them have beautiful voices and this was actually their second duet. Their first one is called "Flower walking freely" (or "Free walking flower"), which is also amazing. I'm not too familiar with Sa Dingding's other works but I've watched many Zhou Shen performances (also called Charlie Zhou because Charlie is his Western name or Shen Shen as his fans call him). He does not always sing that high but he hardly uses his tenor voice and most of the times he prefers the upper register. Some recommendations that show his versatility: "Ring the doorbell, listen to it myself", "Memory" (from the musical Cats), "The Song of Heaven Island" (I can send you a link from another platform with English subs), "Dalabengba", "Humans are", "Baby Goodbye" and of course his signature song "Big Fish". I hope to see more reactions to our angel voice on your channel.

Je suis époustouflé par sa voix et sa présence sur scène, son charisme en quelque sorte, chaque fois que je visionne l'une des chansons qu'il interprète, dans des décors plus originaux et majestueux les uns les autres. Non seulement constate-t-on que la Chine produit des talents de haut calibre dans le monde musical, mais qu'elle les fait évoluer dans des mises en scène resplendissantes de qualité et de recherche esthétique (avec l'intelligence artificielle souvent, je pense). Zhou Chen est un phénomène unique dans le monde de la chanson actuelle et il mériterait qu'on le voie sur les plus grandes scènes partout sur la planète Terre. Bravo pour vos commentaires sur ce chanteur inclassable, que je suis depuis longtemps, constamment étonné et admiratif , je l'avoue. Merci de le faire connaître et apprécier !

It was hosted by the CCTV, the national government channel, in celebration of the Mid Autumn Festival, one of the key festivals in Chinese society. The fireworks in the background was real, released during key festivals.

Sa Dingding is the female singer and I believe composer of this song for a Chinese drama. Zhou Shen, pronounced as Joe Shen, but also goes by Charlie is the male singer. They are both fabulous singers as you just witnessed. Sa Dingding for the most part sticks to an operatic-type of singing whereas Zhou Shen is very dynamic including many languages. In short, he has a world-wide fan base because he does not disappoint. Glad for your discovery and hope to see more reactions of Zhou Shen. From MN, USA

On the contrary, Shen Shen is the one who has operatic training (see "China in the light"), and Sa Ding Ding, even if she has a wonderful soprano voice, initially specialized in Tibetan Mantras (see "Alive"), and now in pop. But, as you say, she is also a brilliant composer.
