I purchased this as a DVD after seeing Adam on idol. Yes it was about 5 years prior to American Idol.

I do own the DVD of this. There's a wee interview with him in the special features where he mentions the interaction with the audience and how that energy ups the performance every time. I agree with you about the Joseph thing, but of course Adam would blow that out of the water. You do know that he's about to make his Broadway debut? As the Emcee in Cabaret. I think it will be a perfect part for him.

Everyone in that production must have noticed that they were in the presence of a superstar.

The show didn't get good reviews but the only good review was Adam's performance. That was his only solo song in the show but he had featured parts in other songs. Even in the chorus numbers you can hear his voice. Fun fact: around that time he performed this song at a Jewish telethon and after her finished, the host commented: "I wonder if he does bar mitzvahs"

Yes Nick this play was indeed before American Idol! Not to repeat the other comments about this play but thank God Adam stole the show with his magnificent vocals! 😉🥹❤️. I saw Donny Osmond in “Joseph and the Amazing Tecnicolor Dreamcoat” in person in Chicago, it was a huge hit that the play lasted a good 5-6 years! When I first saw Adam in this play ( on video) my reaction was like yours, “oh he looks like Donny with that long wig”! 😁. Been an Osmond fan for years but Adam is another species and I’m so proud to be a Glambert! Love him way too much! ❤ Thank you for another reaction Nick I really enjoy your interpretations to Adam’s songs! Madison thank you so much, you’re awesome for requesting Adam’s music! 😘

in interviews Adam has said his positive reviews in this production led to him scoring a part in the first touring production of Wicked, which led to his Fiyero understudy & ensemble role in LA pre-Idol. what goes around comes around. he's making his Broadway debut next month replacing Eddie Redmayne headlining Cabaret.

You've missed Adam's great own live version of Believe at the 41st Kennedy Honors...they are honoring Cher and his version is Not Disco and so beautiful he makes Cher cry.

he was in Wicked as Fiyero in the L.A. sit down company. Now he is going into Cabaret as the Emcee on B'way.

I discovered this tape when he was on Idol. It is pre-Idol, and I loved hearing it again. In his first audition for Idol, Simon complained that he sounded too much like a musical theater performer. Of course, he came around to recognizing Adam's talent.

This muscial had horrible reviews, that was Val Kilmer, if you're wondering, in he background. The only person who got good reviews was Adam Lambert. The show was financed by clothing desiginers that hit it big and thought they could put on a stage production without experience in theatre nor did they hire an experienced producer so it flopped quickly. Breaking news this week is that Adam Lambert is Broadway Bound as the Emcee in Cabaret from September 16th 2024 through March 2025. If anyone is interested in going, check the schedule since both Adam and the female lead will have come matinees and evenings off and the understudies will replace them. You can check that by going to Broadway tickets.

I saw Donny Osmond in the live production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Both stories are bible based but totally different characters. Joshua is from the Ten Commandments, Joseph was sold by his brothers because they were jealous and it goes on from there.
