One interesting fact about those period is that most countries actually dubbed the song, so here in Brazil there are a lot of people who watched it as kid and actually never heard the original version in Japanese, so for Dragon Ball GT I'm more used to hear "Sorriso Resplandecente" instead of the japanese "Dan Dan Kokoro" intro when I remember about it

1:40 The videos basically used the same song through out it's runtime but the animation changes based on the progression of the story/arc at the time. Which is why the video got multiple different animation but with the same song.

When you see more than 1 opening on screen it's either the difference between the original and the re-release, or the different openings through time, since they used one opening for a couple of arcs and it wouldn't make sense to have older villains when they're fighting other people This is a huge nostalgic trip

fun fact about the first Dragon Ball: is loosely based on the tale "Jurney to the west". in that story, a monk travels, and on his journey he finds lots of characters and one of them is Sun Wukong: a monkey demigod with an extensible staff and a golden flying cloud for transportation. the monk frees sun wukong from imprisonment (Buda put him under a mountain because sun wukong was too mischievous and chaotic that no god could stand him) and the demigod serves him as a bodyguard of sorts. In dragon ball, Bulma is scorted by Goku to find the 7 dragon balls, because they grant wishes to the one that has the seven. in their journey they found many characters that are paralel to the "journey to the west" ones

I think what endeared a lot of people to the series is that their is a real sense of time and continuation to the story. fans of the original literally grew up alongside the character. You start with the main character Goku as a kid and chronicle his entire life, you see him grow up, get married, have kids, and even see his son grow into his own as a hero and eventually have a daughter of his own. In the original there is no status quo, the world is always evolving, which is a big criticism of the revival series Dragon ball super, as it’s mostly just more of the same good thing, though thankfully they seem to be aware of that criticism and are trying to address it in the new films

Fun fact: the reason why they turn blond when transformed into Super Saiyan is because that way there was no need to fill/ink the hair in the manga (super saiyan's hair was just blank/white), the main reason Toriyama chose to go with blonde, was because it was literally easier to draw lmao

The villiains are usually monsters (bear-men, dinosaurs, shift-shape and other magical creatures), mercenaries/assasins, soldiers and robots at the beginning, but shortly it became more focused on 3 styles of villiains: Demons, Bio-enginering androids, and Aliens, even defying their own pantheon of deities. In fact, if you google "DRagon Ball Villiains, you would likely see the most pictures of Frieza (a white alien), Cell (a green bio-enginering android) and Buu (a pink demon), that are the 3 most popular villiains of the franchise.

ok, so i wanted to answer your questions about Dragon Ball, so here we go... there are 7 perfectly round Golden Orbs known as Dragon Balls, if you put them together you can summon Shenron, (the gigantic Dragon you see on the intro screens) and he will grant you one wish as long as he can meet that wish's requirements, the show began with Goku and Bulma meeting up (girl with blue hair) and going on a journey to get the Dragon Balls. along the way Goku made many friends and Roshi (guy with the Turtle Shell on) would become his new master/mentor aka Sensei after the first arc, as after Shenron grants a wish, he spreads the Dragon Balls across the world and then goes dormant for one whole year, during that time the Dragon Balls become everyday stones that are perfectly shaped spheres. certain people learn how to fly in the show using their KI energy, but that doesnt really happen until Dragon Ball Z, which is the second series in the franchise and the most popular/well known series overall. there is many villains in Dragon Ball's history, though after the first two arcs of Dragon Ball Z, the villains stopped hunting for the Dragon Balls and instead were out to destroy Goku and/or the universe. fun fact: like One Piece, Dragon Ball was also inspired by Journey to the West, which is a popular story in Japan about the Monkey King who travelled westward, for reasons i'm not sure about tbh. lol

dragon ball is one of the great series, early dragon ball did have a larger focus on martial arts, but once we got into the next series dragon ball z it started making the supernatural powers a much bigger focus. if you plan on reacting to this series, i would also recommend an unoffical version on youtube called dragon ball z abridged. its the same anime and story just with the script swapped out for a more comedic one and is one of the best ways to experience the show

The main premise of the show is that there are 7 dragon balls that all need to be gathered together to have the dragon appear and then it will grant a magical wish just like a genie in the bottle kind of thing. In the original dragon ball and the 1st third of dragon ball z they are constantly fought over until after that it becomes more about defeating a strong antagonist who is going to destroy the world. Goku is the main character, the guy that has spiky black hair with a monkey tail and looks kind of like mickey mouse in his kid form.

Dragon Ball is generally about 7 dragon balls that summon a dragon when collected and will grant you a wish. Various conflicts arise in the pursuit of these. First is Dragon Ball, where Goku is a child, and it focuses on adventure and eastern martial arts. then comes Dragon Ball Z, where Goku is an adult, and it has more of a sci-fi element. After that is Dragon Ball GT, a short sequel to DBZ that is generally considered non-canon. Finally there is Dragon Ball Super, a modern sequel to DBZ that started in 2015 that picks up where DBZ left off. I am personally not a fan of this one

Im not to sure what the Origin story is called TBH.(Essentialy there are 7 Dragon balls and if you collect them all and Say a cirtain phrase you can Summon a dragon that can grant a wish).

These are so nostalgic. I still have a bunch of the ones sung by Hironobu Kageyama on my playlist because I just love his energy. Being a sonic fan and having grown up with all the shows, then got into anime, imagine my surprise when I found the Sonic X sub and SHOCK, Hironobu sung the opening theme 'Sonic Drive' in a duet. I almost didn't believe it, but I listened more and the tone, the construction of the song and that was actually really rememniscent of a DBZ opening. The fighting style at the beggining is mostly Kung-fu, more likly based on Bruce Lee's style for the main character, but it got more fighting fictional styles and adapt to create its own based on the super powers they have (using Ki as power source, element from real martial arts) but you can see reminicent from the original Kung Fu from time to time, that why you see them biting each other, Bruce Lee aproved that as a valid way of fighting, and like that one scene in a recent movie where (SPOILER ALERT) the protagonist used the one-inch punch from Bruce Lee against the villiain, it was epic!

I was born at 1986,Fun Fact Dragonball was actualy reliset at this time so at the erly 90s i grow up whit all of them and if you wana put them in Gener grups Dragonball, now days also called Dragonball(classic) was more of a Comedyc kind of thing Still Adventur and Fights. Dragonball Z was more of a Mature one les Funny but Still comedy in it. Then Dragonball Gt was reliset, in my opinion Gt was a mix of Dragonball and Dragonball Z in terms of Comedy and Fight, it hat a good balance. Man, if you don't know anything about Dragon Ball, you should definetively react to Dragon Ball Z Abridged. Is an inmensily famous and really well put together fan-made KZbin parody of most of Dragon Ball Z (which is the continuation of Dragon Ball, but changes tone a lot on the move to Z) made by the talented guys from Team Four Star. I seen people reacting to it blind (not knowing anything about Dragon Ball) and having a blast. Also, is way funnier and way shorter than the original (which honestly, leaves a lot to be desired by today's standards; since it has a lot of filler and slow pacing in general to fill the run time). Tons of reactors react to Dragon Ball Z Abridged, and I think you should join in for the fun! I would totally rewatch Dragon Ball Z Abridged a 10th time with you :-P

i prefer the Dub intros myself, and Rock The Dragon is still a jam to anyone who grew up in the 90's.
