Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at a first time reaction made possible by PATREON with Eric Clapton "Forever Man." Eric gets edgy and rhythmic with his guitar riffs sick bass line, and most of all catchy. See my strut to this one, as for a first time reaction Eric impresses me!

Clapton is easily one of the top 5 British singer/songwriters of all time. Since the 70s his music has been achingly honest, emotional and deep especially for a mainstream artist. He's done a few famous film scores. And is the only artist in history to inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame three times.

He's just one of the best guitarist of all time Dereck. I prefer him in more blues registers, either for his voice or for his playing. But to be honest, he must be incapable of producing anything bad.....

My favorite - Layla. Love the version from Live Aid 1985. Phil Collins played drums along with another drummer. There was a mix up where Phil was following / trying to keep up with the other drummer, sped up to catch up to her, she then sped up to catch up to him. The result was a much faster version of the song that was intended. But Eric was such a professional that he just went along with the flow. Very impressive!

Eric is my musical hero, seen him over 20 times since 1988! My advice, go for live versions of everything for him, every solo improvised and unique. Fun Fact: the backing singer in the pink jacket is Marcy Levy who went on to become Marcella Detroit in Shakespeare’s Sister…….

OMG Clapton (one of best friend of Prince) ...how is possible to not know? lol I'm kidding! 3 essential Clapton titles: - Leïla (Live acoustic version) - Wonderful Tonight (beautiful love song - in Live ...a must!) - Tears in Heaven (Song about his daughter tragically dead) ...And so much more! Thanks for this new react Dereck. Clapton it's like Pink Floyd, Bob Marley, or Led Zep, etc. It's a standard that everybody should know I think.

You want to react to Clapton ? Look up CREAM , Derek and the dominos live at the filmore , Blind Faith , The Yardbirds , Bonnie and Delaney with Clapton . Just to name a few. Clapton has been around since the 60's. Reacting to him live in concert is much better !! 🤙. He is the only artist to be inducted into rock n roll hall of fame 3 times.

Oh, wow, been a while since I've heard this one. 80's Clapton is an...interesting beast. I think it's his weakest era, but there are definitely flashes in the fire like this one, and some of his late 80's stuff. If you're looking for suggestions, I'd say "Old Love", and obviously "Layla": that one's kinda his calling card, along with the (much sadder) "Tears in Heaven".

*Agreed "Who would have thought I would have so much fun with this song?" Me with my thoughts over my weakness on a guy named Jorge. (Jorgito made Eric Clapton's old records play in a quiet day) As of today, this song definitely makes me think of my inspiration, my "High Honors" Character, Jorge. He is from Ecuador, wheelchair bound and has been motivational to me for 2 1/2 years. Jorge is a "dream character" due to his uniqueness that makes him fancy. The message from the lyrics overwhelms my thoughts about Jorge.
