Eric Clapton, playing live at the Hartford CT Civic Center, on May 1st, 1985. It's from Behind The Sun tour. Song's called Forever Man.
Lineup:
"Duck" Dunn - bass
Jamie Oldaker - drums
Tim Renwick - guitar
Eric Clapton - guitar
Chris Stainton - keyboards
Marcy Levy & Shaun Murphy - backing vocals
//////Lyrics:
How many times must I tell you babe,
How many bridges I've got to cross?
How many times must I explain myself
Before I can talk to the boss,
'Fore I can talk to the boss?
How many times must I say I love you
Before you finally understand?
Won't you be my forever woman?
I'll try to be your forever man,
Try to be your forever man.
Second Verse
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Try to be your forever man.
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Forever man, forever man, forever man.
Try to be your forever man.
Enjoy!

Eric Clapton...say n'more. I'm in my declining years now but this amazing man has influenced my rock since I first discovered radio. Seems like the first 'long' song I heard was Layla. We were so used to the Beatles' short songs and Layla just jumped out at us. Incredible guitarist and lyricist, Clapton is one for the books :) Cream, Derrick and the Dominos, Clapton. 'Nuff said.

The song WOULD and SHOULD have been longer but the band was playing the song as if they were all on SPEED or something. Jeez, the band was playing WAY TOO DAMNED FAST. I had a hankering to hear this song and I chose LIVE and I was so disappointed right off. This happens though all the damn time. Band members simply play a song too damned fast. It's a problem with any band. The best bands can fuck up a song by either playing a song too fast or too slow.

Wow! That was fast! It actually felt like it was speeding up during the song. LOL Nothing wrong with that. Music should speed up and slow down occasionally. It makes it more real and organic.

One of Eric Clapton's best songs. This performance appeals additionally for its expression of complete harmony, sympathy and love. However, Eric's sorely chapped lips are a reminder of life's never ending demands. The frayed skin on his lips suggest individual sensitivity to food-born nickel, particularly when they combine with dry skin, dandruff, acne, athlete's foot, migraine, asthma, fatigue, diabetes, hives, eczema. Those individuals usually have a dietary preference for high-nickel food, e.g. cocoa (chocolate), nuts, legumes, soybean products, lye pastries, bread rolls and cakes that contain raising agents (baking soda). More here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKSodZiYpMudd68

Yeah, this happens when bands create new songs. Compare The Allman Brothers Band on Hittin' The Note when the play Firing Line and The High Cost of Low Living. Both songs are in the same KEY I guess since I don't play music. Anyway, both songs seem very similar. That said, I love the two songs. I think the two songs should have been separated by other songs on the CD so the fans wouldn't have noticed how similar the songs are. Bands recycle good solos and riffs and sometimes a good song went another way and this is the story of these two great song. Fans just understand that these two songs should not have been back to back.
