That break from the Skat singing to the driving guitar blasts hits so hard. Makes you wanna jump outta your chair and start head banging. You just feel a surge of energy explode into you. So very very unique. That's what made the 90s great, everybody was taking chances and just doing their own thing with no F's given. I personally think were gonna start another era like that in a year or two. Seems like every 30 years or so we just get an explosion of honesty and creativity. Happened in the 30s, the 60s, and the 90s.... So here's hoping it happens in the 2020s. 🙂

Have inspired so many of today's bands not only musically but Stylistically to they are and always have been trendsetters. Both with their sound and fashion statements. One of my all Time Favorite Rock bands. Brings me back to Elementary/middle/High School and running out on the Court and meeting at center court and huddling up and putting out hands in and exploding out right when Jonathan started screaming... Lol So Nostalgic. The older stuff sounds like this but later along in their discography, they have gotten much heavier and darker and they have allowed us fans a peak into who they are over the years. They have some very Deep emotional content from personal experiences in their lives, particularly Jonathan he has had a long tough life and been through so much in his life but that emotion and vulnerability comes shining through in their music and its magical.

“Todays bands”.?! Nothing will ever top the 30 year span of ‘65-‘95 which encloses probably 90+% of the greatest music of all time. Not to mention the greatest era to live in. Music, though, has all but died with the exception of a few talents that found a way. Unfortunately, we somehow live in a hip hop era and a marketing era so everything is focused on the performers and zero focus on the music. Bands are gone because they aren’t marketable compared to a solo performer in this fake & pathetic look at me me me nightmare we live in.

That "bark" is known as skat, as Johnathan was influenced by Jazz. Also most of his songs are based on his experience being SA by his stepmom. "You and I were meant to be, a cheap fuck for me to lay" Edit: Yes I get it, it wasn't his step mom, stop accusing me of doing this on purpose or whatever, it was a mistake, I know it was a neighbour or baby sitter or something, please stop hassling me over it. I've been listening to Korn since I was young, I was given false information and I didn't bother checking it recently. I also don't always look up the meaning to songs, I interpreted the meaning of the song from my experience being SA when I was young. I'm not trying to spread false information. I know nowadays it's this thing where everyone is so fucking sensitive and get offended over everything, but it's getting ridiculous now, there are better things you could be doing, like being nicer to people and having more of a positive affect in the world. also I didn't realise this was a reupload.

This is one of the best music videos I’ve ever seen. All the kids are gray and dull, blindly following the leader. While she’s the only one that has any color, and that color is red, which usually represents passion and life. The whole setup in the beginning makes you think she is doomed, from playing at the edge of a cliff, to an accidental discharge heading right for her, but all expectations are subverted. I think the girl represents something more than human, maybe fate or luck. The ending where she hands the bullet back is interesting too. Usually adults are seen as superior to children in authority and knowledge, but when she hands the bullet back she seems completely superior to the man.

This song is absolutely dripping with just pure tribal animalistic energy and rage in a way that you just rarely get in music. The drop, the scat, the 'GO!' followed by some of the most animal sounds in a metal song ever, the drums, bass, it all just goes so hard it's almost impossible to listen to without wanting to bang your head to it like you're part of some kind of tribe preparing for war dancing around a campfire. Absolutely LOVE IT. This is what good music, and good art in general regardless of medium, is meant to be about - it's meant to be about making you *feel something*. It doesn't matter what that is, whether it be peace and serenity, or absolute animalistic rage, good art should make you feel something and this song absolutely does that.

Even though I have listened to this killer song many many times, your reaction to the song gave me chills! Raised the hair on my arms, because I get the feeling that you truly love music, and it shows in your vids. Love them, keep up the great work!

The Charismatic Voice did this one about 9 days ago. She decided to call what he was doing 'Nu-Metal Scatting'. It's pretty unique.

The whole part from where he starts doing the scat, to the GO!!! through the end of the song... I love seeing your reaction to that, I used to watch this song on MTV in the 90's and I STILL get that feeling sometimes. I cant help but turn up that breakdown!!!

An Ivy League music professor called it "nonsense utterance". You're just like me. When the breakdown hit your heart rate calmed down. Super heavy music like this or Deftones always made me happy. It calms my nerves. It seems to have the same effect on you.

Yep. 5he bass is what this is all about. It's so deep and it controlled the song. I'm a bass guitarist myself, so it was easy to see.

I like that the heartbeat meter goes down during the heaviest parts, because they are the most satisfying to listen to. She is obviously enjoying it. Then when she does her commentary it jumps up.

I remember when this came out we had just moved to Bakersfield from my hometown of Ventura in '97 and my dad went to go see them and the following album issues I went to see them was awesome live. I suggest korn- When you're not there, never never or hater.

Omg first thanks for the reaction. As far as follow up vids you can't go wrong with Korn. Such a huge catalogue of great songs, maybe try coming undone or something from their untouchable albumn

It's hard to call this a classic but Korn with their own style and music made a generation of music after the grunge scene. Was a very nice balance of between rock, metal and almost hip-hop tunes. Love their music ever since. We need more music like this!.

Jon Davis' musical vocalizations are akin to Skat in Jazz music, but a metal version. It shows up in other places throughout their career, most notably the short song Twist. The latest single has some of it too, the song is: Worst is on Its Way.

Korn is 100% my favorite band. Thak you for the reaction. Their songs have helped me through a very difficult childhood, and even as an adult.

I’m so surprised you’ve never listened to KoRn before this! They’re amazing! One of the best metal bands from the late 1990s early 2000s Also, Robert Trujillo’s son is the bassist for KoRn now

The 'barking' was Davis 'scatting' and he does it rather often. And Korn has always been very bass-forward. One of many reasons of why I enjoy them!

Considering this song and video clip was composed and created in 1998 , this video clip and music they create was beyond their era at that time. Bullet time lapse , story line , transition between real world and cartoon world is just insane. Especially Fieldy has a very unique bass sound. Very muted , metallic , percussive. Also former drummer David Silveria was very creative and agressive playing on drums. Jonathon Davis's (The Alien) brutal scream part of the song is still making me goosebumps. All in all this song is still very powerful still rocks 🤘🤘🤘.
