One of my favorites from this album with "J'Me Tire". By the way, this song is the "hidden side" of "J'Me Tire" which addresses duality, the fact of being torn between two beings, experiencing a conflict, an inner conflict between good and evil, that of light makes glitter (a profession where you can leave your feathers) and the pious man who is Ghandi Djuna, his surname, living an ordinary life far from the glitter and its excesses. Unfortunately, he cannot make his choice at the end of the clip, because even his "bad side" is buried, his hand resurfaces from the ground, which means that his "zombie" state has not found end. Try the song "J'Me Tire" (2013) to understand the meaning and symbolism of the lyrics as well as the clip. My favorite is “Tu Vas Me Manquer” in 2015 from the following album whose music video is futuristic (Sci-Fi), so a must see!

The backing harmonies are insane, the hook is pleasant and his voice is so good. I think the rapping quick in the verses doesnt sound right for the tempo but its very good nonetheless. His emotion carries alot of his music ❤

Hi Dereck! Thanks for your react on Maître Gims. The song "Zombie" was released on December 4, 2013 as the ninth single (seventh for the reissue "La face Cachée/The Dark Side") from his debut album "Subliminal", ranked no.3 for 7 non-consecutive weeks at the TOP 50. In the ranking of the 20 best-selling singles in France, at the end of the first half of 2014, the first French rapper came in 4th position. Maitre Gims sold 79,600 copies of his hit “Zombie” in six months! The lyrics of the song "Zombie" highlight an inner conflict that he lives in. It is about the conflict between good and evil, between ordinary life and the life of a star, but also between religion and excess. This bipolarity weighs heavily, it turns into an existential crisis, which drags him to the bottom of the abyss. In the videoclipshot by Lucas "Styck" Maggiori & Richard "Screetch" Bismuthreleased January 31, 2014; we see a very anxious man, in which Maître Gims drives a 4X4 in the middle of the desert and has his double on board tied up in the trunk. Under a blazing sun, he digs a hole to bury this other man (the dark side that prevents him from moving forward), before burning him and then fleeing. At the end of the video, his hand emerges from the ground. This is a sign that the alter ego is not ready to leave the humble person. I recommend you in this opus: J'Me Tire (first clip) and Changer the same year 2013 and for this second: Brisé and Tu Vas Me Manquer in 2015, Tout Donner (2016).
