I love this song more than Lux. It’s simply because it’s got a deep meaning, with super catchy riffs and just makes you feel good It’s a song about the taboo thats the topic of suicide. Everyone thinks about it, but we are told not to talk about it, and it’s something people fight with a lot. The voices, the negativity, not feeling good about yourself and your life also. #YOUARENOTALONE 🤘🏻🔥🌹

An absolutely fantastic song and video from the lads! This album definitely sounds like a James coming out through his struggles within the last few years. Someone who has dealt continuously with anxiety and even depression which happened years ago, knowing that James went through alot like most people means you're not alone!

Thank you AileenSenpai for sharing insights in your struggles. It is inspiring when bands like KoRn and Metallica touch on these dark subjects, it's wholesome and sheds hope that - hey if these famous people struggle with this and are willing to put it out there in the light it's not as scary. We need to take the time to invest in ourselves, our Mental Wellbeing and being kind to ourselves.

I believe right now that one of the most important responsibilities for any human being with the means to do so, is to find a way to be at least a conduit of knowledge about the dignity that every individual has and how through that we can go through each day of our future without feeling shame for having defended erroneous IDEAS. That's why I appreciate very much the moments where learning opportunities present themselves, more so discovering that I have no idea about the subject. You have a voice that charms ears full of insight that is very kind in its form and wise and direct in its substance. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and knowledge 🤘🏼🔥 it is really nice to discover content like yours

Great reaction, such a good song with a deep message, this is art 👏 Honestly watching reaction videos on youtube is always so interesting, seeing different perepectives & opinions 👏 Metallica have aged like a fine wine, they're still putting out really great material all these years later, I've loved their work pretty much all my life & will still be listening to them if i reach 80 or 90 haha, their work means a lot to me. Very stoked for the new record, so far sounding like a more refined vintage Metallica. Mental health is so very important too & needs to be talked about more often, as that can often save lives - the power of music to put out a powerful message 🙌 I've had this song on repeat tbh, i can't get enough of it 🤘

Just discovered your channel, Aileen, I love it.This song is so powerful. Metallica has taught us that age is just a number because, wow, after all these years their energy is out of this world by in this song and album. I remember them in the 80s, and here they are still making us happy.

James said in an interview I think that the song is about the taboo of talking about suicide or suicidal thoughts that alot of ppl have had at least once in their lives, society has deemed it a bad thing to talk about it openly, forcing ppl to keep these thoughts and feelings inside, eating at them.

GREAT reaction! Upon 1st listen, I was like: "This song is pretty good." Now, after several listens, I'm like: "This song IS FRICKEN AWESOME!" I enjoyed your insight as to what you felt the song conveyed. Fairly accurate summation in my opinion. Almost makes you feel guilty to enjoy a song with such a "HEAVY" message to it. But THAT is the beauty of Metallica! This was the 1st video of yours that I've watched, and I will watch more. You have a NEW subscriber! Keep up the good work! 🤘🤘🤘

Those psych wards/mental hospitals don't do shit for people. I unfortunately have witnessed the evil in those places. They never help. I now have 2 family members that unfortunately dealt with it, and it's an utter nightmare. It makes things worse. This song is nothing short of great. It spoke from the perspective of suicidal thoughts and went from the person keeping their thoughts inside but eventually breaking free and facing what they've been trying to hide from.

It is sung in the perspective of suicide. He’s explaining that suicide and his mind is telling you you’re left behind you’re no good and that he’s trying to tell you suicide that is listen. Well better listen well keep me inside. My name is suicide. We’re not allowed to talk about it and then he resolves it in the end saying I am no longer needed here which is suicide now your face, your biggest fear, so this person struggling with it couldn’t talk about it now he gave up all the blame and he’s released suicidal thoughts from his mind after talking about it it’s all about talking about it and bring it to light my lying voice inside it is drinking cyanide at the end. He says I am no longer needed here. Now you faced your biggest fear which basically means you’ve gotten rid of a thought.

Hey Aileen. From an old Metallica fan @ 53 loved your take on the song. But mostly what I loved the most was your strength, raw honesty & deep insight to your family's inadequate reaction to your vulnerability. Been there, done that. It speaks volumes about their toxicity & insecurity & volumes about your inner strength & keen perception. Keep kicking ass.

The subject of self-destruction and suicide was a very touchy subject growing up... I remember people scoffing at Kurt Cobain "going to hell" for committing "the sin of suicide" in 1994, w/ no regard for his physical and mental hell that he was going through... Honestly? Metallica have overused that word... But yeah, the mental health of any individual is tricky to manage, and normal people don't understand why people take their own lives... In 1995, Helloween drummer Ingo Schwichtenberg took his own life, and he was supposedly called "Mr. Smile" cos he seemed happy all the time, but we now know he was faking it and struggled privately... If Def Leppard guitarist Steve Clark was treated properly w/ medication, he might still be alive today... He was manic depressive and had a lot of issues from him were a result of his dad constantly putting him down... Clark resorted to alcohol and drugs... and he nearly died in 1989... Def Leppard sent him to rehab... to therapists... and he just kept deteriorating in 1990, couldn't stay clean... Def Leppard gave him 6 months off to give him some time to recover. But he got worse and died in early 1991 from a mix of alcohol and drugs. The deaths of Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, Mike Howe of Metal Church, Trevor Strnad of The Black Dahlia Murder (to name a few) just highlights the need for loved ones to pay attention to the signs that someone is struggling mentally, and not showing what they are going through... Even addictions are primarily a slow deterioration of someone trying to kill themselves, rather than cope w/ their lives. Even today, people in my family have no idea why I entertained the idea of taking my own life... I was struggling. I suffered years of physical and mental abuse. I still have health problems that have no solutions... When I was not in my right mindset, I could not think straight... and those were times I could act out rashly... They keep insisting that I see doctors, and they don't believe me when I tell them that I had seen doctors for 2 decades and they were not helpful at all for my dilemmas... In the end, I realized that only I could try to find a way forward in life, and I still don't have the answers yet.

Not necessarily. Song does have a good message. Some like myself, are so prone to keep making the same old mistakes. I've got a learning disability. Bad at times. So for me to come out on top at times can be very difficult. For me to learn what I need to do next to stay on top of life. You gotta fight to get stronger at times, to learn well what to do to live, to survive the next time. Having compassion, understanding for others I find helps a lot. I'm not entirely against the statement, I'd just like it to be more true. I do really like in the Metallica album Death Magnetic the similar line "What don't kill you makes you more strong" from the song Broken, Beat and Scarred. Take care friend.
