Steve's weird experimental approach suits Polyphia so fucking well. What a moment in history for guitar-centric music. The Clays are also incredible as always. 🤘

The scene where Steve, Scott and Tim stand back to back and just shred gave me goosebumps when I first saw it. In my opinion the best song they've ever made. It's like a mix of everything they've done before but taken to a whole new level.
@EnergeticxCheese2 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen far too many people saying this song is boring, has no emotion and no melody. I just don’t get it though, I mean in what conceivable way is this boring? How can someone say it has no emotion after listening to Vai’s solo? I guess I can give them no singable melody, but is that really the main thing people are listening to Polyphia for? If someone wants that songs like ABC exist, but that one got bashed for being too poppy. What exactly do people want out of this band?
@mauriciovidrio98852 жыл бұрын
What I like is that none of them wanted to impress. Like none of them wanted to stand out, because all 3 of them could've just shredded. But they decided to go more for a melodical song and relaxing

Polyphia has that razor sharp math-rock precision that's just mind blowing...and then Steve comes in with that floaty, warpy, trippy sound of his, weeping and soaring, but always right in the pocket with the rest. It's...just...MAGIC!! Next level voodoo stuff. Whew!! Gives me goosebumps every time I hear this one.

This is my favorite reaction to any song by any KZbinr, period. I come back to watch it every so often, because of how unapologetically genuine it is. The stank face and head bobbing is involuntary, and the enjoyment is literally written on your face - you feel it deeply as a Polyphia fan and student of music. Even if I don't have friends that dig it like I do, I'm comforted by the fact that someone else vibes just as hard and is right there every beat and step of the way.
@Galen8762 жыл бұрын
To me, it really felt like this song was just an incredible blend of their older sound with their newer style. Steve has always made his guitar sing, and seeing him do that again in this collab was incredible

Since you've been a Polyphia fan as long as I have then maybe you follow Tim. In April he posted a page from an interview with Steve Vai where his name was mentioned. The caption read "When you're your guitar heroes #1 pick" and sure enough Steve had him at the most innovative new guitarist on a list of talented others. Now he's in his video......what an accomplishment! Awesome reactions btw!!!! You rock!!:)

Steve's pick tapping technique after an arpeggio and right before the beat drop is everything to me. It's very Steve sounding but also very Polyphia sounding with the beat drop sounding like an 808 which is the Polyphia we all know and love.

Polyphia knew there was only ONE guitarist they could bring in to deliver... Godfather Vai!! It's as though Vai knows the time is eventually coming to where he'll pass the crown on to these guys! He knows talent better than any other... Best video I've seen in a long time, if not ever!!

The imagery of the video is just as absolutely beautiful as the song itself. Each guitarist getting a shot at the spotlight (solo in the throne) before finally experiencing Ego Death and sharing the spotlight (playing back to back).

5:04 gave me such an emotional reaction. A perfect buildup into those brief notes before going all out, I got literal goosebumps and a child-like smile of glee. This is the essence of avante garde guitar playing. Also I feel you so much on watching Polyphia start off relatively unknown and go on to carve out a place for themselves in history as absolute masters of musicianship. I remember the first time they popped up on Spotify in June 2017 as recommended. As soon as I heard the song Nightmare I knew immediately they were something special and I've been on the hype train ever since.

Absolutely incredible this, from start to finish. Polyphia are ridiculous. Was good to see Scott LePage take some spotlight with his playing. The finale on the roof is just mind blowing, the camera pans over to Steve Vai sat on a throne, I mean come on. The playing from all of the guys involved is spot on. And the brass finish was just such a cool touch, I mean whoever came up with that is a genius. 10/10 song, music at it's finest form.

Great video. New subscriber here. I Love to see people passionate about music discussing how it makes them feel. When I saw Polyphia had a song featuring Steve Vai I immediately listened to it like 5 times. Any musician who has a colab with Mr. Vai has definitely made it, and the name of the song was aptly chosen too. I would love to see Synyster Gates featured in one of their songs but that’s just me being greedy because if two of my favorite bands collaborated it would be played into oblivion.
