Gotta respect a girl that enjoys 80s 90s early 2000s Hair Bands..... ReeEEeeee you go girl ..
@PotawatomiThunderNew2 жыл бұрын
I’m not intentionally trying to create a dispute here, but I don’t like how Queensryche gets thrown into the mix of “hair” bands. I know they are sort of worked into that circuit commercially, and yeah Geoff Tate _visually_ had that sort of thing going on during this point of their career, but musically, they are leagues ahead of what hair bands are. What people think of as hair bands are more along the lines of Glam Metal and you could probably use both of those terms interchangeably. But the product you get with Queensryche is not the same product you get with Glam Metal and hair bands and all that. From the subject matter of the songs to the music itself. Everybody knows they categorized more as Prog Metal. And some of their early stuff you could arguably say they had a little bit of a Power Metal thing going on as well. And I’m saying this last because it’s just more of an observation than an actual point, but bringing back to what I said about them, Geoff especially, visually having a sort of hair band look going on; I think it’s ironic that them having made a beautiful ballad like Silent Lucidity is the type of thing that gets them grouped with hair bands, even though by that point, any visual resemblances to hair bands was already gone.

If you like the power in those vocals, try out: QUEENSRYCHE, TAKE HOLD OF THE FLAME. It has an amazing vocal range and HUGE power.... It will blow you out of your seat!

The album as a whole is superb. I am a sucker for Suite sister Mary. The part with the female vocals... The live version is a piece of theatre as well. Highly recommended.

In 1983 I saw this unknown band, Queensryche, open for Twisted Sister at The Ritz in NYC, they were absolutely flawless. Geoff Tate at this era was like another Rob Halford. Brilliant.

I got to see them 3 times live in their hay day and met Geoff after the Operation Mindcrime show. He was smoking and had a cold and STILL put on a flawless performance!

I can honestly say there isn't a bad Queensryche song....they are my all around favorite band. Geoff Tate's vocals are superb and the backup vocals are just as strong....talent wise, no one has anything on this band!!

Looks, brains, and great taste in music. I enjoy watching your reaction to bands I've listened to for years. Tool and Queensryche being 2 of them. I like that you heard the bass, so many people don't hear it for some reason. Take hold of the flame, live by queensryche will blow your mind.
