It has a deeper meaning You just have to be able to recognise and access your happiness It's all around you what you only wish for But if you are blind to this happiness, then you don't see it and your life remains without joy, only grey and dull, which you complain about. The lyrical me in this video complains about exactly that and does not see the beautiful landscape, he tramples an edelweiss, he stumbles not seeing towards the abyss and does not notice that around him are all the dream women he so ardently desires. He is struck with blindness or punished If you're looking for happiness you just have to recognise it and grab it

In my opinion the song is about cherishing the good things in life that you already have around you instead of concentrating on things that may seem important to you but aren't. I think the fact that Till is playing a blind man shows this even more. He's blind for all the beauty of nature (trampling flowers in the end) and blind for all the nice community he has in his little village. All he thinks about and wants is "dicke Titten" (could stand for anything) and so he lost his sight for the really important things and all the beauty already around him.

Concerning "taboos" I liked the time when former minister of family Ursula von der Leyen tried to put "ich tu dir weh" on the index. The band members all went to the hearing and one of them said "I'm really happy you didn't listen to any other of our songs. If you don't like 'Ich tu dir weh' you won't like the rest." (translated the meaning, not word by word)
@sarkaniemi2 жыл бұрын
@@Cainte77 Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I didn't know of this. I just listened to the song along with an English translation. Well, it's pretty provocative! Of course one has to realize that not every single word in the lyrics is true or should be taken for granted. It's part of their artistic freedom and part of their image. There might be some fanatic fans, but I don't think the song would turn them into sadists or maniacs wanting to torture others. The lyrics are strong for sure, but one has to realize that it's art, not instructions.

This kind of takes me back a bit to the time when they made quite a few songs about sexual topics, sort of like going back to the roots. It might be something they do to brighten up the mood between all the other more serious songs about problems in our society, at least that's what it's doing for me. Something I did however notice in the music video, is that the women didn't just all have big boobs, they were also doing most of the work while the men were mostly just celebrating. So I'd see it as a sort of criticism against the male habit to reduce women to something below them while being blind to their contributions to society.
@autohmae2 жыл бұрын
That's probably the deepest meaning for this song/MV I've heard yet. Have you also found a deeper meaning for Pussy ?
@RayvenGuard2 жыл бұрын
@@autohmae Thank you, and no, I have not found a much deeper meaning for Pussy^^ Even though, the lyrics do leave some room for interpretation. The song is probably just about male desires. However, it's not just about the desire for sex, since the first part also refers to the desire to drive fast cars, especially in Germany. Meanwhile, in the US, they prefer bigger cars to fast cars. That may be why the English lyrics say "Size does matter, after all". The inspiration for the song might have come from the saying that guys with small penises need faster/bigger cars for compensation, and that those who can't find satisfaction for their sexual desires will search for other ways to compensate, which would be especially true for Germany, where a lot of younger guys with fast cars like to speed on the autobahn.

@jacquelineschiesser93082 жыл бұрын
As someone mentioned before the deeper meaning is how you're not able to see and find happiness around you. The video also reminded me (as a German) of a dating reality TV format we have here called "Bauer sucht Frau" which is basically about farmers that are looking for a spouse. Originally it was always male farmers looking for women (hence the title) but in the past years we also saw female farmers looking for male partners and also same sex attracted couples. For some reason this show is quite popular although it really often portrays these people as simple on purpose and intentionally makes fun of them. So when Till sings about wanting to find a mate and how he describes what he's looking for it hit me as a parody of this TV show as well. Especially since the whole video is set in this extremely stereotypical Bavarian setting. Also in the TV show they have this big opening party where the farmers meet people that want to get to know them and then choose who gets to spend a week with them on their farm. At these events many of the men and women wear Dirndl and Lederhosen. And also fun fact: The folk song in the background is an actual folk song called "Muss i denn zum Städtele hinaus" :)

Another German group had once way back in the 90's. Check out the group Oomph and do the video search on "Oomph! - Sex" That's it. Insanely good with a lot of hidden innuendo! Great reaction as always and your choices are always great. Y'all be safe.

sometimes, after all the myth in Rammstein vids, it`s all about the "small- no the easy"- things in life. Like a smart man one said. "Battletanks (obvesly in time of peace) are like big titts. Looks good, but useless" ♥

Well, I could think about some few good uses (not speaking about battletanks).

That flower he stepped on is a rare flower that only grows on mountain tops in Germany,ww2 German paratroopers would climb the mountain and pick one before there first jump

As a german and especially a bavarian i think it´s so funny that most of the stuff other countries see as typical german things are almost 100% bavarian, best examples Oktoberfest, the "Mass Bier" (having a litre of beer in one glass is typical bavarian) and even what you called german folk is also almost exclusively bavarian in this form... so i guess, knowing Rammstein and their thing of doing nothing without purpise in the visuals, are playing with that stereotype. Seeing it the first time myself today i was wondering too about the innuendos, like beating the meat and also the boy hitting the cock, because those are things that don´t work in german, those are english only.... a little gift for the international fanbase as i think here...;) Funny thing on the other hand is the oldshool themes here. Bavarians are called the most prudish ones among the germans, that´s one thing why i guess the shocking factor is higher here creating the scene in an alpish scene tho they originate from berlin. The one innuendo with the hay wagon just made me giggle because it´s a common stereotype that lots of youngsters living on a farm in the mountains loose their virginity in the hayloft and it´s associated with sex when a couple heads toward it at a party or something... nice detail to know here...^^

I feel like other parts of Germany is getting washed out a bit and slowly turning "less german" (or at least the stereotypical view of Germany) if you know what I mean. Filming in Berlin instead would change the video completely and would maybe not be fitting for the song. Bavaria could be more protective of the old culture and a dirndl goes perfect to a song about loving fat boobs.

The Video was not shot in Germany and the clothing they're wearing is a "Tiroler Tracht". They are in the Tyrolean Alps.

if you have a fairly good mastery of the english language, german will be fairly easy to learn.french is my main language, all the other romance languages like spanish and italian are fairly easy to me. i can read spanish, italian, portuguese and romanian fairly easily. german is a bit tricky for me.

When I first heard this song, I wasn't really listening to the lyrics. I understood what the title meant but was only really listening with one ear to the chorus. With my German being pretty spotty even when I'm concentrating fully, I initially thought it was a song about the unfairness that women face in the world. You don't need to be smart or anything, you just need to have big boobs. I was like, damn Rammstein, spot on! Then...I got a better understanding of the lyrics. It's still very Rammstein, just in a very different way from what I first thought. Hahahaha. By the way, I love that countdown sequence you have before going live. It's really, really soothing and looks great.

Aileen! When you do the older albums I soooo recommend Morgenstern. I could write a masters thesis on that and Till's accompanying poem, Häßlich. Word of warning Morgenstern at Volkerball alqays gets blocked, but it's worth watching.
