15 years for me. This is one the first videos i watched when KZbin started becoming a thing. Im 29 now and im about to go to Iceland for the first in July and seeing them in person live in September in Raleigh, NC. I lost my brother in Oct. '22. This band makes me feel everything i needed to feel. Anger, guilt, happiness, sad, etc etc. Such beautiful band

There are keyboards/synths but they use pianos, guitars, standard and electric drum kits. It's played and recorded pretty organically. Such a strong talented band to produce something so otherworldly from such standard instruments

Yes please deep dive into Sigur Ros. There are many impressive tracks. Its very ethereal, sometimes psychedelic and mostly space rock! The band is from Iceland and their music also reflects their beautiful country and nature. Their live shows are very cinematic and pleasing to the eyes! This is exactly what they do, they bring out so many emotions through their music❤ Im jealous of you being able to discover them for the first time now! You should deffo dive in, their discography is amazing. Their documentaries ‘Heima’ and ‘Inni’ are great too. Their singer ‘Jónsi’ is an amazing artist and has done solo albums as well as film scores✌️ If you are in the US I really recommend you go see them this fall on their orchestral tour. Its very likely their last (and only) orchestral tour. They are unbelievably good live🙌

I've never watched your videos before, but as a huge Sigur Ros fan of over 20 years I felt compelled to watch and comment. Your reaction perfectly depicts how it is so easy to fall in love with this band. Even after all of these years listening to them and seeing them perform live, my heart still swells each time I listen. Watching you grab your heart and your excitement was such a joy. I do hope you take the time to dive deep into this band because as you mentioned, they are otherworldly and truly magical. The sounds you mentioned are not electronic but produced by a three person band. The band's frontman, Jonsi, is known for his falsetto voice and bowed guitar -- but as a trio they really do create something special. They have several documentaries and wonderful videos on their KZbin page for you to get lost in. In all of them they truly honor the land from which they are from, it's people, and art in all forms. If you can, please catch them live on their orchestral tour this year -- you will not regret it. My dream has always been to see them perform in Iceland, and I'm happy to say that this dream will finally come to fruition on my birthday this year -- what a treat! Please enjoy, and I look forward to more of your reactions on Sigur Ros!

the vocal arrangement reminds me of Lisa Gerrard / Dead Can Dance...one can easily get carried away in the dream like state evoked by such sounds. Icelandic music has an otherworldly quality I love to lose myself in.

Lisa Gerard is my favourite female vocalist! I agree with you completely! Dead Can Dance and Sigur Ros are two of my very favourites for exactly this reason. If you don't know them/him, I highly recommend listening to the album Diorama by Silverchair. I am sure you will love it ❤️

I'm Icelandic, to me this song and others of Sigurrós is like pure distilled nostalgia for the innocence of childhood. You should react to Hoppípolla (JumpingInPuddles), the video is also very beautiful.

Wonderful reaction. Made me recall my first time hearing Sigur Ros. That rare thing when you realise you’re hearing something entirely new and you have to find a new vocabulary. Soundscapes, melancholic childhood memories, or the music made by sunrise, or melting ice, of the dance of shadows under a tree.

Thanks for your reaction. I love Sigur Ros ‘ music. Saw them live on their last European tour and it was transcending, eerie.. I heard them for the first time while watching the movie The life aquatic, where they played their song called Staralfur. It was epic ! They are amazing !

So wonderful to see you discover Sigur Ros! And as much as it all sounds electronically made, it's not. Those beautiful swells you hear are the lead singer using a cello bow on the electric guitar. They use a whole range of instruments including Glockenspiel, Strings, various percussive instruments, etc.

You probably know by now that this is all made on instruments. This comment is mostly for viewers who are new to Sigur Ros. This is almost entirely organic. Nothing wrong with electronic contraptions. But the electronics with Sigur Ros are mostly mid-20th century. They mostly use light bulbs for their light show.
