in portuguese we use "saudade" to describe that feeling... in the case of portuguese "saudade" is connected to memory, when u remember someone or some event and u get happy and sad at same time, happy cos u lived, sad cos is gonne. Like when u think about some beloved one that pass away o u don't see for long time and memories put u happy and sad at same time.

I never thought I'd see them live, but they came to my country a couple of weeks before my birthday, this was like seven years ago, maybe more. My best friend came with me, she didn't know anything from them, but we ended up sobbing together at the concert. She passed away three months ago. This is a memory I will cherish forever.

I discovered Sigur Ros around 2010, and it was a band I shared with my three sons. We all liked them. Then their mom and I split after 30 years, and I moved 1500 miles away. This band has meant so much to me over the years, they’re like a big part of the soundtrack for me as I walk through fires and collateral damage from a few tragedies. ❤ There is nobody like them even remotely.

"There's something sacred and holy about what that does on the inside and to share that experience with others is just so beautiful". This totally encapsulates how I feel listening to Sigur Ros and perfectly explains why I am buzzing with excitement to get to see them perform live for the first time this summer. I have looked on the website for the venue and found out that it is sold out and to know that I will be there having this beautiful, powerful, spiritual experience with a packed out venue full of people having their own experiences and all of us having a collective experience just makes me so giddy with joy and excitement

I met Sigur Rós in my late teens. A friend found it through another friend from IRC, it was in the early 2000s. The song was Untitled 4. That was incredible. I needed more ... I've been following them ever since. All my good and sad moments there was a song. Even On my wedding day too, the music for my walk was Untitled 3. All the moments I need to disconnect from the world, and need reflection, are listening to Sigur Rós. Like exactly now. It's for sure my favorite band.

Sigur Ros is the sound that the heart and soul makes....it makes me think about how we are given birth from space, how we drift almost clueless thru space and how we fade back into space, always remaining in unity with it all thru all the stages, a place which is really mysterious, deep and joyous...so alive and familiar! It is incredible how music can act like a portal to reconnect with that.

I think this speaks to the soul of the listener, not just the ear. The lack of traditional verse/lyrics, make more like a dreamscape, than a simple song. So I think it sound different to each listener. But this video clearly shows that there is a common reaction. Tears of joy, sadness, loss, celebration etc. Like me, right now ❣
