Laura Nyro wrote this and sang it on her album. Check her out. You’ve NEVER heard a voice like hers. Her range is incredible. Her music and lyrics are so beautiful. Some of her best songs are, Louie, Timer, Upstairs By a Chinese Lamp, Eli’s Comin’, Stoned Soul Picnic and so many more.

The expression “three dog night” refers to a night that is so cold that you need to sleep with three dogs to stay warm. Love "Try a Little Tenderness." You will too!!!!!

The point of a cover should be to take it in a different direction. 3 Dog Night took several songs that weren't theirs and made them hits.

Geez, I almost refused to repeat myself once again, but since you admired their singing on this song, I really have to recommend Laura Nyro's original (studio) recording of this....different in some ways but also wild & gorgeous (she has a funky/gospel style). I really need to school some of these commenters who don't seem that familiar with her!

I grew up with the TDN version. I first heard Laura's years later. Now hers is my go-to listening for this incredible song,

Saw them live in 1981! All 21 of their top 40 hits were covers from other songwriters, but they made them their own. Gotta checkout "Mama Told Me Not To Come", "Shambala" & "Never Been To Spain" among others from them. Dunhill Records were a big in the 60's & early 70's with The Mam's & Papa's, The Grassroots & Three Dog Night their biggest artists. Thanks.

Imminence with the song “Come What May.” It’s a Live Version at the Ystads Teater. They actually have a Live Video now. Lead singer plays violin while singing and screaming. It’s kind of unheard of having violin in metalcore. It’s an emotional song.

Sorry you aren't feeling well. I too used to get sick (scratchy throat that progressed to a bad head cold) about the same time every year and it was always around my birthday. Just curious if it's close to your birthday, and if it's usually close to your birthday when you get sick each year? Don't know if you've ever noticed, but many, many people (usually famous people are the ones we hear about) ... when they die of old age/natural death, it's often within a week or two of their birthday ... either prior to or after. Kind of like "cycle of life", or "circle of life". I don't have any particular belief system, but I am very interested in coincidences, and I find that to be a very interesting coincidence. You may even have had family members that have died close to their birthdays. My mother died nine days before her 81st birthday. It's really common, but why? Any thoughts? Maybe just another one of life's mysteries. Kind of stranger than that, about 8 years ago I stopped getting my annual cold, and I haven't actually been sick or even had a simple cold in the last eight years, and of course I'm the oldest I've ever been. I don't get that either, other than I'm not nearly as social as I used to be, but it seems like my natural, older, weaker immune system would make up the difference, but I guess I'm still in good shape (my profile pic is eight months old and I'll be 67 in six days on the 11th). P.S. I grew up with the music of Three Dog Night, and they have so many amazing hits. I got to see them in concert twice, and they sounded just as amazing in concert as on vinyl, cassette, 8-track, DVD or MP3! (all of the music formats I have lived through lol). ☮️ from Steve in Dallas

It may not be you getting sick and maybe that you have seasonal allergies that you're not taking care of and that gives a breeding ground for a cold to set in so maybe nip it in the bud with an allergy pill and you may not have any issues next year
