This song was huge in the entire Europe, it was in the Top 10 Charts in many European countries, which was something very uncommon for a french song. It was also quite huge in Mexico and Japan too. A timeless banger.

The song refers to the novel "Lolita" by Vladimir Nabokow (published in 1955). Alizée was 16 years old when she sang this song. The young man in the clip is Jérôme Devoise who is Mylène Farmer 's current sound engineer.

I was 10 at the time and she was 16, she was the ultimate teen idol, it also helped that she came from Corsica, like me :) In the beginning he tells her he loves her and asks her if she does, she answers "do you have 200 francs?" Two iconic videos about entering teenage love all. Check the videos because the lives are... well let's say... she is a better album singer ;) She is a gay icon in France, and Moi Lolita was a hit all over Europe in 2000 and later in Mexico where she is maybe an even bigger star?

Alizée is a good proposal. Moi Lolita was really an enormous hit , in 2000. The TV version is better. Alizée has English hits. She will back in concert , this year. Take a plane to see her , in Paris !

I'll never understand why foreigners discover French songs without at least putting on English subtitles and stop interpreting nonsense.... Or at least find out about the song right after listening to it... it's beyond me.... I don't see the point. But since the authors don't reply to any comments and don't even react in the comments, they're just there to take their money.... They don't care about music...
