Babymetal is a japanese metal band with 3 young female singers. They play a weird mix of hard metal music but with happy happy J-pop lyrics. I know it sounds really weird, but somehow it just works amazingly. 😊

And metalheads love them! Being an industry plant or popular are like "the worst" things you can be if you're a metalhead and still these girls get a pass :D I think a lot of it is that they're honest about it - they were literally hired to sing in a metal band and they were not metalheads before that, and they have been straight up honest about it since day one. Another thing is that they brought something new to a genre that has been around since the 60s and hasn't had anything new and exciting happening in a while...

Babymetal is a japanese Kawai Metal band and some of their tracks you should consider checking out are "Gimme Chocolate", "Karate", "iine! (Official)", "Road of Resistance - Live in Japan", and "Megitsune" for starters. They are amazing!

From what I remember the left “live” version of himself is a one take and has the computer in the back to show he’s singing along with the track.

Also, in regards to Anthony's production, he does the mixing of the track and then does both a non-camera recording as well as does a "live" recording with the camera, then he basically takes the best sounding takes for each style and splices them together to give the best version of the track for us to listen to. But that is why the computer is in the background, it is showing the live recording and the music track.

So, I am seeing the uptick in BABYMETAL comments. Some people have used the term industry plants, which just isn't accurate in the sameway you wouldn't call a Disney child star an industry plant. Japan has an idol scene starting around ages 8-10 and basically has a training pipeline through the teenage years to adulthood. What this ultimate leads to is basically up to the idol and their representative company. For the members of BABYMETAL is resulted in the creation of the Kawaii Metal genre (kawaii being the japanese expression for cuteness) and a now 10+ year career. They regularly sell out stadiums, tour, and just this year dropped another album. If you start reacting to them, get ready for something completely different from just about anything else you've listened to so far, cause nothing will adequately prepare you for them. Have fun falling down the foxhole!
