Diana has a contralto voice, the lowest female voice, she is also a polyphonic , she can produce several tones/notes at the same time, making it sound like there are more than one singing, Diana is very young here too, which makes this even more incredible. 14 or 15 I think. Not edited. She's a true Contralto. She is Russian and she sings in multiple languages. There is a French song, Dernier Dance (it was a very big famous song for a little while and I miss the original artist but) Diana's cover is also a favorite. Try the version where she performs it at the Kremlin. :)

Actually there was a person onstage who was playing the flute, though I won't argue that she does use backing tracks because she does it all the time. And it's hard to tell weather there are people on stage or not if it's a backing track. My greatest wish if for to get a band behind her and make it more organic.

At the age of about 13 she auditioned on a show for children and sang/yodeled. It is called 'Jodel Time'...really extraordinary...the audience absolutely loved her but the judges didn't turn their chairs around, even though they were obviously fascinated by her voice. They asked her to sing something else and she sang a French song acapella...but she was not chosen. What did she do? As the audience cheered her, she went up and gave the judges a hug! Completely captivating performer, even at the age of 13! I'd say watch her do Elvis' 'Can't Help Falling in Love' (fantastic -- she makes it an entirely new song). And also you could do 'Wicked Game' and 'Rechenka' both at the age of about 15 in singing contests... utterly spectacular voice! Also she sings a beautiful and uplifting 'Into the Sky!' At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. Some viewers refer to her as Princess Diana but I think the Queen of Goosebumps is a more apt title. You may think so too, especially after you have reacted to a few more of her performances. It is hard to say which of her songs you should react to next. She was fifteen years old here, maybe only fourteen, and she is eighteen years old now in 2022 with a huge repertoire of songs of many different genres and languages from about the time from when she was six or seven to now. Her last song on video was probably a cover of "What a wonderful world" around New Year, but expect more in the near future as she has firm dates lined up for shows mainly in Russia. Some have claimed Diana is a true Contralto, although she has not publicly sung much opera or classical music, and others consider she is yet too young to be given that classification as her voice still has much potential to mature and evolve. While others may claim that already she is showing so much variety in timbre, colour and range that any classification like Contralto is simply too restrictive for her talents.

They had to sing from 9 different genres of music so there is a wide variety of styles. You can hear the critiques after her performance on this video. Diana (dee-ah-na) was abandoned by her abusive mother at the age 3 and placed in an orphanage, diagnosed with cognitive impairment. Her adoptive mother had her enroll in singing lessons to help with some speech problems due to abuse and neglect. Her singing talent was immediately noticed and the rest, as they say, is history. It's a safe prediction that you'll have goosebumps and say that's the most unique voice you've ever heard.

Only two of them would I even recommend though - Derniere Danse (but the long version, not the competition performance) and Rechenka. Wicked Game I think I've burned out on. But all of them have their attractiveness that's for sure.

I would like to point out, and even though I'm a devout fan, music is subjective, so your "the best female singer in the world" is really superfluous. There are some very talented vocalists with mastery of their instrument living today. They may not be your favorite, but their talent is undeniable. While I love Diana, I don't always like her song choices. Her tone is unique and special which makes her the only singer in the world with that voice. I can't wait till she goes on the road with a band behind her.

@@wbsesq1 thanks - I recognize her uniqueness which keeps me coming back, but as I mention to folks, and this again subjective to my taste, my favorite vocalist is Haley Reinhart, and has been for pretty much the last 10 years. And my respect, and enjoy listening especially to her solo material, is Floor Jansen who I consider the penultimate master of her instrument, though her voice register generally is a little high for my everyday tastes. (I'll mention that Floor's day job isn't a genre I particularly enjoy except for a couple of performance pieces done at Wacken 2013 - Ever Dream and the mind blowing score of Ghost Love Score. I've never heard a better live video taped performance than this, ever. All three of these women have so much control over their voices. I put them in the same company of my favorite female artists of all time, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt and Annie Lennox. I've been lucky enough (haha, and lived long enough) to see three of them in concert. Regards,

Haley Reinhart first came to my attention with her performances on AI (and less than a handful have ever impressed me off of that show.) She's also performed with Jazz Orchestras from L.A. to New Orleans and has the most viewed videos of any featured artist with PostModern Jukebox (PMJ). She's both an actor and a voice actor and she did one commercial piece for Extra Gum. She's cut 4 albums, three self funded.
