Every few videos I’ll find a comment that is capable of reinvigorating my motivation to not only continue creating, but to slowly and surely outgrow the imposter syndrome that always looms in the dark recesses of my mind. The only reason we haven’t been able to post a 3+ hour reaction video every single day is because I’ve been fighting through some deep and dark phases of depression these last few years. Doing these reactions always helps lift my spirits, especially when other people leave inputs/feedback like yours. I personally believe that the strongest people are those who lay their souls bare for the entire world to see and judge and draw their own conclusions. I just hope to improve my work and sharpen my thoughts and ideas the more I heal and evolve off camera. My favorite subject in school growing up was philosophy and most books I consume still to this day are philosophical in nature, so I’m beyond humbled and grateful for the kind words of encouragement. Much love always! - Caley

@ Thank you so much for your response. During the video i felt like you really lit up when talking about these deeper topics, so regardless of what people say, just go towards your version of joy and continue being yourself, it’s hard being philosophical and critically thinking because people don’t like being confronted with truth, but I think one can free himself from that dogma by being true to himself. You guys are already doing this but I just wanna encourage you to be shamelessly yourself even if it ends up not amusing anyone, life is too short in the end to worry what people think. Take care

Three non-spoiler fun facts to contextualize the Jaime & Ned fight: 1) Jaime is considered to be one of the greatest swordsmen in all of GOT. Some rank him in the top 3. I've seen claims that he's the second best of all time. 2) Ned is not considered one of the greats. Although definitely trained and capable. More so known as a great commander. 3) During Robert's Rebellion, Ned beat & killed who most consider the greatest swordsmen ever: Ser Arthur Dayne the "Sword of the Morning". P.S. 12:29 Ser Barristan Selmy, the other knight of Robert's Kingsguard we often see, is another many consider in the top 3. Ned's dialogue here hints at it. 🐺
@KineticSymphony2 ай бұрын
Indeed! The show doesn't really explain or show this, but Jaime was in no way trying his best here against Ned. That said, I think Jaime was surprised that Ned could hold his own so well, and was excited at a decent fight, until his guard stabbed Ned's thigh in the back. He was angry about that, the same way you'd be angry if you're about to devour a delicious feast, and someone snatches it away after you've only had a bite or two.

The show was filmed in Croatia (Kings Landing and many other southern parts of Westeros, also locations and cities in Esos), Northern Ireland (Northern parts of Westeros), Iceland (North of the Wall) and some other beautiful places drop in from time to time like Spain, Malta, Morocco. CGI is used only to bring the locations a little bit closer to the books (like some buildings and such). The cinematic experience this show gives thanks to those amazing locations is what takes this show to another level. It just gets better and more insane.

No spoilers just so you guys can be clear. The mad king was Aerys II Targaryen, he had 3 children Rhaegar, Viserys II and Daenerys. Who kidnapped Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister) was Rhaegar and The starks (father and first born son) went south to speak to the king about his son's behavior and they were burn alive by Aerys order. Robbert and Ned made a rebellion against him. The Lannisters couldn't be against the king cause Tywin Lannister (head of the house) was the hand of king but Jaime Lannister killed Aerys Targaryen in his throne, that is why people think Lannister are untrustworthy. As you guys know Robbert Baratheon killed Rhaegar in battle. Rhaegar was married to Elia Martell princess of Dorne with who he had two children (later on the show we know what happened to her and her kids) Both Viserys and Daenerys escaped. --- on another note Aegon Targaryen with his sisters were nobles from a place called Valyria, they came with dragons and force the kingdoms to unite and make Aegon their king, so Targaryen dynasty lasted about 300 years.

The discussion we witness in the dungeons is VERY important. You recognized Varys. The other man was Illyrio Mopatis, the man who was housing Viserys and Daenerys in Pentos, arranged Daenerys’ wedding with Drogo and gave her dragon eggs. So, it reveals something essential about Varys: he is in cahoots with Illyrio and he is taking an active part in PROTECTING the last Targaryen heirs, possibly preparing a Targaryen restoration. Varys is seemingly serving the Crown by planting a spy (Jorah Mormont) in Essos, reporting back to the Council and agreeing to Robert’s kill order. But at the same time, he is revealed to be plotting with Illyrio to accelerate the Dothraki invasion. Not sure you got it… it sheds a new light on Varys’ true motivations, which are quite difficult to read at this stage.

The writing is insane in the first 4 seasons, where they actually have true source material from George Martin. Been saying it for years, we never had this perfection in writing since decades on a show. Its spectactular, its unreal. Its unbelievably multilayered. Its subtle, its sublime. Every word matters and has value. Every look means something. Its nuts. Its what makes the show a miracle of film-making. Its all about the writing. Always has been. Its why everybody needs to watch GOT, and not skip it, despite its later failures on the last seasons. You guys are in for one hell of a journey. Once in a lifetime experience. Tho your whole brand is being mentally gone, I suggest cutting some of your tangents that go for tad too long and go off topic. Maybe upload a "full discussion" vid after every reaction or save some of those tangents for Patreon. Except things like the therapy bit. Shit like that is peak emergent entertainment. Otherwise, please keep the long format. As a fan of longform content and podcasts, having something new to listen to in the background is great. Also all the people complaining about it should learn how to put a video to 1.5x speed. On the Medieval or "Dark Ages". They weren't that dark, by all means it was just like most pre 18th-20th century life. The whole idea of it being the "Dark Ages" where it was a violent and ignorant part of human history is just old historians over romanticizing the Romans and Greeks. There was plenty of advancement and progress through those times, sure lots of it was blood soaked but that's ALL history. On the Vale, it's called the Vale cause a "vale" is a type of valley. It's basically known as the Valley. However all your guys' theorizing on symbolism is awesome. It usually gets boring when all reactors talk about is "what's gonna happen next", "wasn't that so cool", or "isn't this character awesome/awful" so some actual thematic discussion is great. You seem a bit confused with the Targaryen genealogy. Aerys I was called the Mad King. He was married to his sister Rhaella in true Targaryen fashion. They did not love each other very much. They had 3 kids: Rhaegar (the heir, died during Robert’s rebellion, killed by Robert himself) and many years later, Viserys and Daenerys. Daenerys was born during a big storm in Dragonstone (hence the nickname Daenerys Stormborn you will sometimes hear). Her pregnant mother and Viserys were smuggled to Dragonstone when rebel troops approached King’s Landing. Rhaella died in childbirth and loyalists took both children to safety in Essos, in exile.

So what happens to a henchman who speaks too much ? They cut his throat. I don't see symbols in that. Just logic.

Please see my comment further down. I love these long conversations. You are, I believe, the only reactors who've ever noticed that Varys is talking to Ilyrio, down in the crypts. I don't know why this should be so, as Roger Allam has such a distinctive voice. Interesting trying to equate the Vale with a veil, though it's hard to think of Lysa Arryn as the keeper of any special knowledge.

Ned is a much better fighter in the show than in books. Also, Jaime isn’t going 100%. He can’t kill Ned and wants to see how good of a fighter Ned is. Also, Jaime is 35-37 and Ned is about 40. So he isn’t that much older.

I don't think YT allows abusive comments but I also don't think you guys are open to suggestive criticism or opinions that are contradictory to yours. Taking the attitude of "just click off or go elsewhere" is wrong since even the people suggesting a shorter format do love watching/listening to both of you, they just don't have the time to do so to completion. Anyways, cheers and enjoy the gummies.

There's a difference in suggesting ways to make something better and suggesting to make it different. KZbin is full of shorter reactions. Forcing these to be shorter, just because some viewers don't have the patience, would just rob those of us who enjoy the longer format of content which, there is lot less available.

@@Lahha But no one is forcing? Just because you disagree with a suggestion means the suggestion shouldn't be made at all, even if it means increased viewership? I strongly disagree with your position that no one should be allowed to suggest something you don't enjoy and I wouldn't ever tell you your suggestion isn't valid either.

Anyone watching is free to only watch the reaction part and as much (or as little) as they want from the either the introduction or the post-discussion. Why are you making a problem out of nothing and labeling it "wrong", a? Their reaction part is ~40 min in this, pretty standard across the more successful reaction channels. What more do you want? Have some self-awareness and stop posting such bulshit, will ya? Jesus...

@@6kembe4orba Anyone watching this is also free to comment and suggest improvements to the channels they love, no ? Clearly I'm not the only one that feels this way. They have since responded to the comments calling it "criticism" and saying that this is sacred to them so viewers that don't like it should just "go elsewhere". That's fine, I understand how fragile egos work when you're in your 20s. I'll just ignore the elephant in the room on their reaction videos and pretend it's not hours long like everyone else does and continue to enjoy them without criticising or suggesting any improvements whatsoever. It's 100% perfect the way it is.

@@NSUserName again, anyone watching is fully capable to skip and only watch what they want. There's no problem when there's an abundance of something, while in the opposite case - people which would want more wouldnt have it cause the content wont be there/uploaded. You can't skip content into existence. You use vague generalizations of "improvements", you never give specific examples on what exactly you want them to "improve". Just saying "make shorter content" doesnt mean anything and it doesnt make sense in YT ecosystem when you're able to skip freely, and it paints you as a surface level entilted commentator. Make specific requests with specific suggestion, like these: " Suggestion: Make a quick 5-15 min quick post-reaction discussion for the whole episode and then go in the "nitty-gritty", like Angry Joe does in his movie reviews." This makes sense, what you write doesnt.
