Hanabi = fireworks (literally "fire flowers"). Hanabie = cold spring weather (literally "frozen flowers"). It's alluding to when there's a late spring chill, after the cherry blossoms have bloomed, and you get frost on the flowers.

I think 7 Days War might be their best song, and it's completely underrated. There isn't a video for it, but I would love for you to react to it. Other good ones are Reiwa Dating Apps Generation, Pardon Me, and Go Now, and Be the Gal. To be honest, you can pick any one of their songs. Their songs are also very diverse. They do all kinds of different things.

Hanabie have a video out called "The right way to say Hanabie" Its a bit of fun but lets you know how the Japanese pronounce it. The band has their own style of fashion and music. Fans have named it "harajukucore". This is taken from the ladies home in Tokyo, the prefecture of Harajuku. They are currently touring the world and are awesome live. The other big metal/rock band is Nemophila and their singer also has a great scream as well as a singing raspy voice. Oiran (Evolution version) is a great way to check them out. Hanabie have been great even from the start but had some personell changes having had 3 drummers leave for various reasons (on good terms) with the other 3 girls having been together since school so they are pretty tight. The new drummer Chika is a beast live.

Hanabie really likes having fun with their music they have made music about video games anime summer time their newest one is about being a superhero they do have a couple more serious songs but most of them are just about fun topics. Also Japan has a movement with bands thats called visual kei where they dress up all kinds of ways there are visual kei bands outside of Japan but it's nowhere near as many it's mostly a Japanese thing

*Hanabie* are one of the current *awesome* all-female Metal bands from Japan (LOVEBITES, Nemophila, Hanabie, HÀGANE). They all bring so much joy, creativity, surprises and energy! *Hanabie* have the unique approach to address typical Japanese everyday life issues: Sugar addiction & cuteness ("We love sweets"), sexual harrassment & unpaid overtime at work ("Pardon me, I have to go now"), the shallow everyday life in the Japanese upper class ("Girls' Talk") the love dreams put into online dating ("REIWA Dating Apps generation"), and so on. I have no personal "favourite" song from them. I appreciate most of theirs. DE/GER

Hanabie are never quite what people are expecting. However, that face you made was just what I was expecting from you ---> Ok copy/pasta for new reactors Welcome to Harajuku-core! Hanabie (ha-na-be-eh) named their music style after the famous Harajuku district that inspires their look and sound. It is famous for its street fashion, shopping, and youthful culture. As you heard, Harajukucore is an energetic mix of metal, electronic, rock, punk, rap, pop, and even traditional instruments. Their visual style is also very influenced by the flamboyant _gyaru_ (gal) styles. *Matsuri* (Gt. & Vo.), *Yukina* (Harsh Vo.), *Hettsu* (Bass & Vo.) all started out in an after-school club playing Maximum the Hormone covers. Over the years they have had several drummers including *Sae,* seen here in this video. *Chika* is their current drummer. They have a lot of songs about serious subjects, but always deliver that message in an entertaining way. Here's a few song recommendations for you - 'Be the GAL - early summer ver.', 'NEET GAME', 'Envy', 'Reiwa Dating Apps Generation', 'Tousou' (run away), and 'LOVE Ranbu' which is audio only. Thanks for checking out this amazing band.

@@JohnnyReacts1 Yeah, I second giving _Broken by the Scream_ a try. Unlike Hababie, Broken by the Scream is actually an idol group. So more like Babymetal in that sense, but with a much smaller budget and nothing like Su's clean vocals. But they make up for it with their amazing harsh vocals! And while the musicians are not quite Kami band level, they are not that far off. Very skilled on their instruments, and playing some surprisingly progressive, almost jazzy, metal. But please keep going with Hanabie as well! Saw them live a few months ago, and the girls are a blast on stage. And off stage, I guess, because Yukina often crowd surfs, and Hettsu has a habit of actually coming down and _playing bass while walking among the crowd!_

Jump ahead four years and watch tbeir latest video, GIRL’S TALK. Punk Rock bands, male and female, have been making songs about things that affect them for 50 years. The all female, Osaka-based hard-core band OTOBOKE BEAVER also have a great sense of humor, but they write songs about more serious subjects. You can usually find transliterated and translated lyrics in the description section of their videos. I fiinally had a chance to see them live a few months ago. It was the best night I’ve had in a long time.

This song is always a good intro, but a few reviews complain as not everyone appreciates the Bassist part. This is quite old now, there is a bunch of good songs in between (don't miss Warning, Love Ranbu and Sunrise Miso Soup, which are really some of their best stuff but don't appeal to the record company so much to make an MV), but check out Otaku Lovely Densetsu which is where they are in 2024, they are really great. And if you don't hate the chaos side, try Paledusk (ready to die for my friends and black ice)

I don't care much about genders. The very important thing is to don't let that stuff going in your way, when you judge a band or a song. Even back in the days with the traditional metal band there were always female lead metal bands. (Warlock or something like this) who were fully accepted in the metal community, in a male dominated environment. When you reacted to Electric Callboy and Babymetal I did not know about Hanabie. I discovered them around three month ago and instantly liked their style and saw their talent, even I was not so convinced about the song to what I were actually listening to. These girls are really talented. One of their best songs is Otaku lovely densetsu, and "Pardon me, I have to go now" is just great piece of music. Regarding to traditional western metal bands. Imho, a lot of them (but not all) got too lazy. They are keep trying the risk low and therefore produce over and over again the same songs. I appreciate when bands take a risk and try something new. Sometime it works out , sometimes it won't. But I give credit to these bands.

You're in Japan, right? Or were? 花冷え (Hanabie) the えat the end is pronounced Eh, as in error. The definition is literally "cold flower", but can be used to mean chilly weather. The significance of the band name is that the original 4 members were all born in Spring time. Add English lyrics : The lyrics were added in the description. Their style is derived from Harajuku, a Tokyo area known for young adult fashion. Usually showing off outlandish colors, pastels, and kawaii esthetics. Thus they call their music Harajukucore. A mix of Harajuku culture and Metalcore. They formed in high school as a Maximum The Hormone cover band. I'll be seeing them for my third time, 2018 in Tokyo, last year in Austin Texas, and tomorrow in San Antonio Texas.., for my birthday😁

Totally agree on the pronunciation of Hanabie (EH and no YAY nonsense), but please let us correct you on the meaning of the name. Hanabie marks a return of frosty weather in spring when the cherry blossoms bloom. You're right about it having something to do with birthdays. However, Yukina is the only one who has a birthday in spring (April 17th), the remaining original members all have birthdays in December (Matsuri December 27th - Hettsu December 26th - original drummer Kaede also in December, we don't know the day). So it's winter with its frosty temperatures that meets spring.

These days I tend to find metal (and rock in general) bands who look metal, and who try to look tough and dangerous, rather silly. Maybe because I'm 56 and not 16. Most of these Japanese all female bands, on the other hand, look cool and maybe even tough because they don't try to look tough. They look comfortable and self-confident. I don't remember if you've reacted to East of Eden yet, but if you check out their latest video, "Cross Roads", singer Akane and violinist Ayasa look extremely elegant and beautiful in their dresses -- and cool. Bassist Wakazaemon goes for a different style, though. She's amazing.

With Hanabie (Hah-Nah-Bee-Eh) you have now met the best Japanese all-female metal band. The creativity in this band is at the highest level (even the outfits are bassist Hettsu's own creations). You should watch the music video for L.C.G (Lollypop Candy Girl) next, which is the first song where Hanabie mixed many different styles together. It has many different vocal styles from Yukina and a very nice singing part from Matsuri.
