I think, throwing in that tiny section of "JAZZ-Riffin'"goodness at the center of the song makes MY idea of a prog-rock element, similar to early YES with their Jazz drummer playing jazz beats (Akane doing the same here). Also, if your story is correct about the loss of a loved one, then here's another similarity with Prog-Rock Icon RUSH in their song "Afterimage" about the drummer's loss of a best friend. So many "Parallels" of excellence HERE! This HAS been a great decade to be alive thanks to BAND-MAID.

Actually it was Saiki who wanted a lot of development in the song. Then Kanami went through death of someone close to her (possibly her grandmother), the story behind the composition is different from Saiki's lyrics but in a miraculous way two stories sync perfectly.

No flames from me, so far this is my favorite off this album and closely pushing it's way to the top of my all time favorite Band-Maid song (and raising above a lot of my classic rock favorites). Thanks for the reaction and the other song off this album worth a listen is "The One".

That's what I thought too, but people are going around saying it's this song. Honestly, I would need to go find the source material to confirm for myself.

The beginning is so beautiful. Then it mostly rocks! I don't really get prog from this tho? 🤔 MISA & Kanami are both rocking their new guitars in this video 🎸

I agree with almost all of what you're saying except where you say the rhythm section isn't sophisticated. I'd urge a second focused listen, there's definitely more going on than you'd think. This is definitely a great choice for a MV for them. Toi et moi is the standout on the new album for me. Definitely give that one a listen too.

haha i KNEW someone would pick that little thing out. Read their interview THEY say that as well that was intentional for the structure of the song!

Dude go with your first instinct you are so right! This is their MASTERPIECE sorry for the shouting, ahem. I thought Giovanni was complex geebus. After 20 plus listens, I'm still picking up stuff

The songs already released earlier in the year are just Band-Maid awesomesauce! The six new songs are so tightly integrated and complex, it's going to take a Tokyo minute to assimilate. But I already love Forbidden Tale, and especially The One. 😉🤘 btw - We should all wish a "Good Luck" to Band-Maid's new self-run management company: Maidit, Co., LTD! Will they managing other bands, boost Cluppo and Maiko projects, or tour more internationally? Or maybe they will expand their business interest to other sectors of the music biz outside of Band-Maid. I believe Kanami wants to get more into composing, scoring and production. And as for Miku and Saiki, the sky's the limit for what they'll want to do in merch, fashion and art, etc.. Thx, Shawn!
