First time REACTION to Marc Martel - We Are The Champions (Queen cover)

You guys are killing me 😂😂😂! I travel to see Marc live every year. He doesn’t just have an amazing voice, he’s also an incredible front man for his band! He doesn’t ever dress up or pretend to be Freddie, he’s always himself on stage and still manages to sell out shows internationally.

He did the singing for Bohemian Rhapsody and won a spot on the Queen Tribute project the original Drummer did so he toured as the frontman for that project for a bit.

I took my 15 year old to see Marc and his band in concert, early in March. I got to watch a normally disinterested teenager go totally off the rails. We were both losing our voices by the time it was over. This was EASILY the best concert I've ever seen, and I saw acts such as the Beach Boys and Elvis Presley perform live, back in the day.

Marc Martel was the lead vocalist with the Queen Extravaganza selected by Roger Taylor and Brian May. Have seen the Queen Extravaganza twice and they are fantastic musicians playing great music and keeping the legacy of Queen alive. No costumes wigs and moustaches here just real talent.

He is very close, and he did do the music for the Bo Rhap movie. He does wonderful concerts with his music and some Queen songs. But Freddie had a unique range that not even Marc can hit, but he does sure come close. Marc does sing Christian music also.

Ha, you guys are fun! I'm a huge fan of Marc. He played at a metal festival just two days ago in Sao Paulo, Brazil! Lamb of God played there as well. Funny you should start by talking about his microphone. His original tryout video for Queen's official tribute band, over 10 years ago, featured him holding a Shure SM7b and the sales of the mic went up SO FAST, Shure sent him an engraved mic as a thank you gift. Now almost everyone uses that mic, and they have no idea it was popularized by Marc Martel.

If you want to see some really good Mariah covers....check out Katrina Velarde. She covers all the power divas - Mariah, Celine, Whitney, Christina, Beyonce. You won't regret it. Marc does an edgier Queen song - The Prophet's Song - which is not covered by many if any others. It's a difficult vocal challenge. If you check it out, check the Queen Extravaganza version from Norwich (NOT the Montreux one). It's a fan cam but the audio is good and there are closeups.

Here are four (of MANY) quotes, from Roger Taylor, about Marc Martel. 1) "I wanted to avoid some guy impersonating Freddie. The fact that Marc Martel's voice sounds spine-chillingly identical is just a fact of nature. That's his voice. When he sings our songs, it's pretty uncanny. You close your eyes and it's like Freddie is in the room. It's scary." 2) "We're very lucky to have found a singer like Marc Martel who sounds so...and even looks a little, here (gesturing to his face), like Freddie Mercury. But (when) he sings.
