Thank you for the reaction. I love this song and that it brought these two great musicians together again. Marko said about this song that it started as a song for his wife and ended up as a reunion of two old friends. But he later added that the song can be interpreted in more ways than one, so it also fits his history with Tarja and Nightwish. In this way, they both perform it in concerts, as a song about forgiveness and reconciliation. Marko started writing this song before he asked Tarja to sing it with him and it seems that over time the song took on a new meaning for them too. The video was also shot in a particular way, a few months ago, that invites this interpretation. Marko offered this song to Tarja last year, when they both met years later at Z7, where they sang Phantom of the Opera. They have been in regular contact since then. This week in the Czech Republic (Tarja and Marko will have a joint concert here at Metalfest in a month), an important rock magazine published an interview with Marko. There, Tarja was marked as a rediscovered soulmate. Marko adds there that he was always sorry that they were estranged from each other and that management and the media partially dug the gap between them. That he always hoped that they would find their way back together, even if taking the first step is sometimes difficult. Marko also said that after talking privately, they were both moved to tears and that they realized there was no reason for them not to get along and communicate, which has resulted in joint concerts.

@@themetalmuse Marko apologized to Tarja already in 2017, when they were both part of the Christmas concerts in Finland. It was then that they met and spoke for the first time since her dismissal. They cleared the table back then.

@@clarissajudmann2428 I can't send you the link because it's a czech paid magazine and it was a long article about Marko as a whole. But he said (automaticaly translated): _Our first meeting after years took place already in 2017, when we took part in the same Christmas tour in Finland. It was then that we had the opportunity to meet face to face and talk face to face. It was strange. For years there was a chasm between us, which the media and management have deepened to some extent. I was sorry that we had become estranged as people, and I hoped that one day we would find our way back together. Fate gave us this opportunity and our reunion was full of emotions. We were a bit sentimental and had tears glistening in the corners of our eyes. We both realized there was no reason not to get along and communicate. But sometimes one is afraid to take the first step. Since then we have remained in contact, which gradually resulted in our joint concerts._ The other information I wrote is from various interviews with Tarja and Marko.

Have you seen Dead to the World, perhaps live from Summer Breeze 2002? They harmonize there too and it really sounds great. Or The Siren live at End of an Era, as someone else has mentioned. I look forward to more, much Thanks!

You've got tickets to see them??? I'm jealous. Have a great time. 🤘🤘 Marko has said that he wrote the song for his wife, but it ended up uniting old friends. I think it sounds like it would fit in with the songs from his 2020 solo album, Pyre of the Black Heart. "Stones", "Voice of My Father", and "Dead God's Son" are some from that record if you want to check it out. For more Marko and Tarja with Nightwish, try "The Siren' from the 2005 Helsinki concert (End of an Era DVD).

This song brought them back together, exactly 20 years after their very last music video with Nightwish!! ❣ You do you on this channel of course, but I also would love to see a bit more with them! Good reaction. I don't mind some slower songs (along with metal, I like varied music) but the 80s style keyboard gave me mixed feelings the first couple of times I heard it. I don't dislike keyboards ( I used to play them, so just as well....), nor all 80s music, but there's a certain cheesy sound I'm not keen on. I liked the rest, though, and that bit ended up growing on me. Now I rather like that bit too! I'm a bit jealous you got tickets! Hope you enjoy the concert - let us know how it goes! When I heard they were touring Europe after South America, I was hoping they'd come to England, but on seeing the schedule it appears they are sticking with the mainland. Fair enough. Would be nice to book a ticket and make a holiday of it, but other commitments will probably prevent that. (I live with my elderly, ill disabled father, and I daren't leave him alone for too long. Times like this I wish I wasn't an only child. 😂) Never mind, I can catch the albumns and videos later.

I have kind of same feelings than you, and sadly it kind of stays the same after probably two dozen listens. But the chorus is great and I love that they are working together again ❤And while you want metal that keeps you going, I think you should try Battle Beast. Noora Louhimo has one of the greatest female metal voices and they are very tight band at live. They are a lot of fun...kind of party metal 🙂

First of all...can you please turn up the volume of the songs you are reacting to. Being deaf in my left ear, I have a hard time hearing the songs you are reacting to. As for the beginning riff of this song....Marko is just a few years younger than me...and he probably was a metal head when he was growing up! Led Zeppelin's song, Kashmir, has a very similar opening riff...and I really appreciate Marko paying a bit of a tribute to this Hall of Fame band. I do understand the meaning of the song. I understand being depressed and feeling like you are all alone, Left on Mars. I was also an alcoholic... and putting the two of these together can lead to very dark times in one's life. I got the help I needed, and I am coming up on 25 years sober and free from depression. It makes me so happy to see Marko happy!

Marko’s solo album wasn’t metal, either, and a lot of the old Tarot stuff was more hard rock than metal…he’s more diverse and open-minded than that, as is Nightwish. When Marko appeared on The Masked Singer (which he won, btw), he even did songs by Elton John and Michael Jackson, so…
