I believe he sang the song with all his body and soul ; how he would feel if he was back in that time on that holy night. You could completely feel his whole emotions.

You should also check the version of " Mary did you know " with Tara Simon and Erik. It is absolutely mindblowing. Fun to see Swedes reacting to this :) I'm Swedish too, and my family and Erik's are actually connected by marriage. His aunt is married to my father's uncle. Or maybe was, I actually don't remember if he's still alive or not. I doubt he knows who I am though. I didn't know he existed before he was on Idol. I really love his version of this song, and I've spent the past few days watching many many reactions to it. I don't like Jussi Björling's version at all though, to my mother's dismay :P She loves that one, but she has actually admitted that she liked Erik's version more, because he puts so much emotion into the song.

I would have to disagree. This one has so much raw emotion in it that you can't get that natural raw emotion much of anywhere anymore.. His emotions came from his battle with Leukemia. That make's this an insane cover.

Then they told him it would be a duet with KD, he said absolutely not I won't do that.
