This song along with Love Takes Time and Still The One were big hits for them in the 70's

You should dig into some Seals and Crofts they did some really beautiful music! "Summer Breeze" I just love that song! Watch the official video from (1972) it's all about summer 😊

I love Orleans, always have, always will. Their harmonies are a hallmark of their music. You should really check out Still The One, it’s another huge hit of theirs. Great harmonies there also.❤🎼

I had a hard time choosing between this one & Still The One...great song!

Dance with Me came out in 1974. Dancing Queen came out in 1976. You can connect the dots. LOL.

yes indeed! this was one of the catchiest songs of the early to mid 70's! most of the tracks coming out of america had that west coast feel to them! eagles, america, doobies, isley bros version of summer breeze, steely dan & csn & y, etc!!!!

I mean no offense but there are no dots to connect. The two songs are very different. Are there snippets of the songs that sound a lot alike? Probably, but that's true for many songs.

Thanks for that, was wondering who came first. Waaaaay too close to be coincidence on this one 😮

As others have mentioned, their two other hits are "Still The One" and "Love Takes Time." This tune is off of their album "Let There Be Music" of which the title track is a hidden gem in my opinion, with a vibe similar to early Doobie Brothers.

These guys sang their butts off! Stylistically this song is almost in a class by itself. There are elements of folk, country/ bluegrass (acoustic guitars, mandolins) and even R&B (What an incredible bass line!) Even compositionally, they didn't opt for the (uncreative) board fade, but concluded the song with a memorable ending. So glad to see the two of you digging this!

That was the short (radio) version, the other version has a two measure solo and the bass is killer. One of the most difficult tunes I ever learned on the bass. Great pick!

Recommending Kenny Loggins, song This is It. (1979) Michael McDonald is back up on LP. Kenny is an awesome live performer. :)

The opening motif, "Dance With Me" is very similar to the hook from "Dancing Queen" by ABBA with identical rhythm, tempo, notes and groove. Plus they are both feel good songs. That's where they part. It just means you've got a good ear to hear those similarities right off the bat...

I dug Orleans as soon as this came out - huge hit back then. Still the One is another sincere track - though it’s more uptempo - and as always their vocals are impeccable! …Love Takes Time is another uptempo hit. Larry Hoppen was the lead singer, and John Hall was the lead guitar and great harmony vocals.

@robhansen63706 ай бұрын
It's not a harmonica, the instrument used is called a melodica.
@liamoconnor94876 ай бұрын
@@robhansen6370 Interesting....and embarrassing, seeing as how I used to play a bit of melodica, back in the day. I thought it was a harmonica played on the higher notes.
