Soundgarden is a really good band and more rougher on the edges. Audioslave is more radiofriendly stuff with Chris singing awesome in both bands. If you want the darker rough song, i would suggest "Fell On Black Days" from Soundgarden. Also "Spoonman", "Rusty Cage", "Outshined" and "Slaves&Bulldozers" If you want the Audioslave Line that have their heavy part but never to heavy for radio, go for "Show me how to live", "Gasoline", "Like a Stone", "Be yourself", "Cochise" and "I am the Highway" Good part to start and get the idea of the band. Soundgarden was allways more experimental on their sound, Audioslave was more polished.

Cornell's voice was one of the greatest voices of all time, and he was also an amazing songwriter. I suggest Fell On Black Days, Outshined and The Day I Tried To Live by Soundgarden and also Audioslave's songs The Last Remaining Light, The Worm, Like a Stone and I Am the Highway. And last but not least, Temple of The Dog's songs. specially Hunger Strike sung by him and Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam. Cheers Biss.

The video is (another one but one of the bests) critic to the "american dream" look how everything looks like the "tipical american neighborhood" how everything is plastic, superficial but most of it everyone is traped in that obsession for that plastic "perfection" that is actually as you accurately said, creepy. Tittle makes sense to how Cris Cornell watching everything and just wanted the sun turned into a "black hole" and suck everything. And of course the absolutely FORCED "nice" smiles (as smiles of politics and the people who controls everything) that say all they are rotten and are scum inside.

Friend in 2017: Hey, I have an extra ticket for Soundgarden in Kansas City. Wanna go? Me: Man, I'd love to, but I'm already seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers in KC, Metallica in Denver, and then Muse in KC all around that time. That's just too much time off of work to go. I'll catch them next time. Right after that show I was invited to, Chris Cornell killed himself. I kicked myself hard, because he is one of my favorite rock singers. I miss him greatly. Soundgarden - Outshined, Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike (Also has Pearl Jam's Eddie Veddar singing in it), Chris Cornell - Can't Change Me, and Audioslave - Like a Stone are some of my personal Chris Cornell favorites.

If you listen to the Superband Audioslave you almost have to first (or at least right after) listen to Rage Against the Machine. Audioslave is all the band members of Rage Against the Machine (minus the vocalist Zach De La Rocha) with Chris Cornell as the vocalist. Great Rage Against The Machine songs to start would be, "Killing In The Name", "Wake Up", "Know Your Enemy(featuring extra vocals be Maynard James Keenan of Tool, A Perfect Circle, Puscifer)", "Bulls on Parade", "Sleep Now in The Fire", "Bomb Track", "Take The Power Back", "Down Rodeo", "Calm Like a Bomb", "Freedom", "Settle For Nothing", "Maggie's Farm", The Ghost of Tom Joad", "Beautiful World". They have 4 official studio albums as well as other releases that have sold about 12.5 million copies. And all of their music was recorded with live instruments. All of the sound they make is with drums, bass, and guitar. Other great Soundgarden songs to check out Chris Cornell's incredible five octave range would be, "The Day I Tried To Live", "Outshined", "Fell On Black Days", "Pretty Noose", "Blow Up The Outside World", "Outshined", "Rusty Cage", "Burden In My Hand", "My Wave", and "Spoonman" (which features a famed Seattle street musician named "Artis the Spoonman" that plays the spoons assisting in percussion)

There is so many types of songs he made through his life. I agree this is the good start, cus this was one of the biggest hits in the early-mid 90s of Grunge music. After this we could check other songs from SG like, SPOONMAN (which u'll love, i know it), Fell on Black days, Blow up the outside world, then the Audioslave times with OFC Like a Stone (my fav song ever cus its gotten me through thick and thin in life), Show me how to live, Revelations, and then we finally circle back to the 2nd era of Soundgarden from 2010's with Live to Rise, Been away for too long, Halfway there, and can check his solo stuff too like The Promise, Nearly forgot my broken heart. Somewhere in there there is also Temple of the Dog's "Hunger Strike" in which he sings with Eddie Vedder

I didn't discover Soundgarden until I saw Jesus Christ Pose on MTV. I immediately bought Badmotorfinger and honestly it's the only Soundgarden album I ever bought. Jesus Christ Pose is my favorite SG song (it's so awesome, his voice is incredible in this song) but I like a few songs on the album. While they did some catchy stuff, more radio friendly stuff later on I think is alright, none of their other stuff really caught on with me like JCP did. Cornell did have a great voice, one of the best imo. I like a few Audioslave songs. Temple of the Dog was an interesting project but it didn't do much for me song wise. For a guy whose voice I really really like there isn't all that many songs he sang I like. Like I don't think 'Black Hole Sun' is all that great, it's OK, but obviously a lot of people love it. Strange, but it is what it is. "That's all I have to say, about that" - Forrest Gump Enjoyed the reaction though! Edit # um I forget already: Are there no singers among your Twitch gang? FWIW, I think this song was def not ideal as an introduction to Chris Cornell as a vocalist. Dude sounds bored in this song honestly. 💤

What is special about this, is that it is very characteristic of a specific rock era and generation of people. I am taking about the grunge music scene of the 90s. Soundgarden were one of the most important bands of that era. No internet and no youtube back then and each album and each video clip on the TV were treated like treasure. This was a type of music for the youth of that time. It was supposed to sound rough, unpolished and rebelious and I understand that it might sound a little weird to the young people of today. Also Chris Cornell is a legendary singer and rock composer, with huge discography and one of the most impressive voices ever. The lyrics he wrote were really great too. Black hole sun was the most famous song of Soundgarden but there are other of their songs that I liked even more. Btw where are you from? I can hear an accent.
