It's probably the best anime I've ever watched. And i mostly watch action anime. Animation is some of the best I've ever seen, and the storytelling is phenomenal. It is consistently amazing through the show and the movies. I can not recommend it enough.

Love to see this one to end the year. This is an anime that truly transcends its bounds. This will always be the go to anime I recommend to those who have never seen anime before. Truly a masterpiece. While every episode is amazing in it's own way, there's one episode that will always tear my heart out no matter how many times I see it. Gaz, if you react to this one, just be ready. You'll experience art in its best form. Everything about this show is breathtaking. The music video of Amy is unrelated to its context in the anime, as the song was used in the Violet Evergarden Side Story movie which centers around two sisters who were separated fron each other. The lyrics of the song are some of the most beautiful in a series full of songs with beautiful lyrics. The movie itself is my favourite part of Violet Evergarden, and one of the best anime films of all time in my opinion. It's also very tragic on a meta level, because it was completed just before the studio was attacked by an insane arsonist who killed many of the people who worked on the movie, including the art director. I already almost cry when watching the credits just because of the song, but when the credits get to the section that lists the names of the victims, tears are guaranteed.

Violet Evergarden is a masterpiece by Kyoto Animation, I don't think I've ever seen an anime that touches the heart in every episode, with exceptional animation, a special OST that doesn't fail, a story that makes even the strongest cry. Totally recommended, each episode leaves a teaching, and I'm sure that more than one has changed the way of seeing things.

I watched this anime when it was out few years ago. And somehow I still have tears when I heard the music from this anime and I actually don’t really remember the storyline but as soon as the melody starts there is a sad but warm feeling in me. I think this is why this anime is so good.

I have watched an ungodly amount of anime, and Violet Evergarden remains my favorite anime of all time. It has it all, story, art, character development and soundtrack. It is the best anime that I have ever seen. The sad vibe does go with the anime. Violet is an ex-child soldier who has known nothing but war. The central part of the story is Violet discovering emotions and what it is to be human. I don't want to say too much as I hope you watch the series, it is well worth it. Yes their is sadness, but there is also happiness.

The first phrase of the ending always gets me tearing. That kind broken voice singing "anata no koe wa michishirube" if you know about japanese music, is a style that was developed in ww2 filled with the desperation of the people of that time. A form of lullaby but with a broken monotone voice, and i love every single GODDAM SECOND about it.

I want to suggest checking out "To your Eternity". Its very unique, well made and very emotional. Its a true gem and got me crying harder then any other show or movie period. The opening is solid, but to get a nice feel for what the show is about I recommend watching the first episode.

Violet Evergarden is beautiful. Not going to spoil the brilliance of this series, but its themes are of love, loss, empathy, guilt, and communication. It hits me for very personal reasons, but I cannot suggest this one enough for you to see. The anime was done by Kyoto Animation, and is actually one of the last ones they did before the infamous Kyoto fire.
