Great video. Aimer is an artist that got damage in her voice after an accident with her vocal chords, which made her high-pitched voice from then become the deep voice that characterizes her today. This happened to her when she was 15 years old. To even be able to sing again, she had to do absolute silence therapy for 6 months. Finally she would debut as an artist at the age of 21. I think it's incredible that after damaging her vocal cords she didn't give up on fulfilling her dreams. It is an inspiring story.

I'm sure Aimer said in an interview that when he was about 15 years old, she practiced singing too much and got vocal cord nodules, and she didn't treat it completely, and became this characteristic voice😂❤She said that she had a hard time until she mastered it well using a voice different from her previous voice.😅
@RoadVlog11 ай бұрын
She didn't want the surgery cause she was afraid that she won't sing anymore and she used silent treatment as a solution and didn't use her voice cords for the whole 6 months completely. Later she developed her own way of singing to not overwhelm her cords and that's how her singing style was created. Now after almost 2 decades since that situation she's still singing and has a huge audience. I attended her live concert in Osaka this last year and she's even more unreal live. For the long time similarly to Ado she didn't want to show her face cause she wanted to be recognised by her music not the looks. She's one of those people who just simply love music with her whole heart! My favourite part of her career is album "daydream". She collaborated a lot with Taka from One Ok rock at that time.

You need to react to the collab Omokage, by Aimer, Milet and Lilas Ikuta (from Yoasobi). These three at that time are like the biggest pop female vocalist in japan. The song is also composed by Vaundy another hitmaker there (like literally one of the biggest soloist there), the collab is a special made by Sony and The First Take I think. Their voice are so different to each other, the way they make the song happen is truly a once in a lifetime experiences. It would be fun to see what you think about it

I love hearing all of your comments on different vocalists and the descriptions on what exactly they are doing with their voices! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the artist Yuuri! He has a lovely voice with great control! He has a few songs on THE FIRST TAKE, all of them are amazing but I def recommend taking a look at Dry Flower and Betelgeuse!
@arianawright304111 ай бұрын
Aimer (エメ [Eme] pronounced eh-meh) is up there as one of my favorite artists. Due to her unique vocals from an early age vocal cord injury, the natural raspy and husky nature of her voice is so unlike anything that you often hear in jpop, particularly from female jpop artists. I absolutely love this new segment to your usual vocal analyses and diving into the amazing world of Japanese music. The First Take truly does wonders for allowing these artists’ true vocals to shine! My all time favorite First Take’s would have to be Homura (炎) by LiSA, Gunjou (群青) by YOASOBI, and (as of today bc I just watched it and it was breathtaking) Where Our Blue Is (青のすみか) by Tatsuya Kitani. The sheer emotional output by LiSA and Tatsuya Kitani in their respective performances is nothing short of breathtaking. Despite both of them starting to get emotional during their performances, they power through and deliver such powerful vocals. I’d LOVE to see your reaction to either one of them, if not both.

Aimer has so, so many amazing songs that showcase how unique her voice is. I like to compare her to Ado because while Ado is often all out and almost 'savage' in how utterly creative she is with her voice, Aimer is very controlled and feels almost restrained. They're both incredibly expressive artists in their own ways and my favorite artists at the moment. You should give "I beg you" a listen. I'm not sure how interesting it is from a vocal perspective alone but the melody and how it weaves an emotion into the listener when coupled with her vocal style is really interesting.

I would highly recommend checking out vocalist Kuroneko. She's the female lead singer of the band Onmyouza (sometimes romanized as Onmyo-za). The song they're most well know for is "Kouga Ninpocho" which served as the theme music for the anime Basilisk a number of years ago, and was on their 2006 album Garyou Tensei. They did a live performance a few years ago for a King Records showcase of many of their artists who recorded anime theme songs, and you'll get a good idea of just how talented a vocalist she is, and the level of control she has over her instrument. Plus they're my favorite band, so I could be a little biased 😉
