I met MAB at one of his clinics and the guy is a very nice guy. Got to chat with him for about 30 mins about playing. He is by far the most technical player I have ever seen, the most clean player as well. A great teacher too and shows you how he does things. And yes he is as fast as it appears in the video the film is not sped up he IS that fast.

MAB might've invented his own "V-style double guitar" but he wasn't the first to have a guitar like this. Ibanez built one (heart shaped triple neck, 1 neck on each side for each hand, and a third on the bottom) for Steve Vai between 1985-1986 after the release of David Lee Roth's Eat em' and Smile album. It was made famous during the recording sessions of the album Skyscraper in 1987 and seen in the video "Just Like Paradise". MAB hadn't even founded Nitro until late 87 and debuting their first album in 1989. Dean guitars didn't build MAB's first double guitar until 1988.

The original double guitar was made by Gibson by Wayne Charvel, not by Dean. Steve Vai started his inspiration for the heart guitar was MABs double guitar.

He started at Fender guitars in the 70's before joining with Grover Jackson to found the Charvel/Jackson line of guitars which that company was sold in 1989. A simple internet search can tell you this. Gibson never touched a V style double neck.

@@ZacharyOtt Yes it actually is an elaborate hoax. Gibson was trying to stay relevant in the 80's while up against numerous "Superstrat" style guitar makers. They contacted Wayne for some input on how to go about marketing a guitar of that kind. Because of that ONE phone call, Gibson built 200 of the 87/88 WRC guitars and put Wayne's name on it as an endorsement in hopes to that alone would get the guitar to sell. Guess what? They got sued into oblivion in a court of law by Charvel/Jackson guitars. Wayne Charvel had nothing to do with building those guitars. You can find this AND the lawsuit online.
