Bassist Nikki Sixx ODed on heroin in 1987. He was clinically dead for 2 mins.In the ambulance a paramedic plunged 2 adrenaline needles in to his chest & he comes back.He walked out of the hospital went home.He left a recorded massage on his answering machine "Hey this is Nikki Sixx Im dead" after that the shot up again.Passing out till the next morningThis song is based on that

Been listening to the Crue for 40 years now. The video clips of concerts were from other music videos from years past. "Home Sweet Home" and "Wild Side". If you pick "Home Sweet Home", you'll get your ballad. If you go with "Wild Side", you'll get a glimpse of what Tommy Lee (drummer) brings to the live performances...

I saw them live once, 30 years ago - still may be the best concert I have seen. Even though you could see boys were "under the weather" they gave - and got back - so much energy and show... I tear up thinking that leaving their concert may have been the most elated I had ever felt and will ever feel again.

The best concert video available is called "Carnival of Sins" from their reunion back in 2005, filmed in Grand Rapids, MI. I saw that tour in nearby Cleveland, OH and it was absolutely spectacular and over the top in all the right ways. I am a lifelong, diehard Crue fan since the beginning when "Live Wire" first debuted on Mtv in 1981. They are still touring, although the original guitarist, Mick Mars is no longer in the band (has been replaced by John 5)...

Yall are killin' us! Check out a video called The Rise And Rise Of Motley Crue. Its a documentary style video, and they talk to various family and friends of the band members and kind of tell how they got in the band and eventually more famous than anyone imagined. And of course all the debauchery that happened along the way. Except guitarist Mick Mars. He was considerably older than the other 3, and while Nikki, Vince and Tommy were partying in Hollywood, Mick was at home with his wife and kids. Motley Crue was strictly a business for Mick Mars.

Just out of interest, I looked up the 'grapevine' saying, here's what I found..... "The term originated in the USA and comes from the telegraph system invented in the 19th century by Samuel Morse. The system required thousands of kilometres of telegraph wire to be installed, held in place several meters above the ground by telegraph poles placed at regular intervals along the telegraph route. People thought the wires and poles looked like the strings used to train vines so the telegraph lines became known as ‘the grapevine’. During the American Civil War rumours were often spread via the telegraph lines. When people were asked whether a particular story was true, they would often reply ‘I heard it through the grapevine’. So many everyday phrases that we all use, without any understanding of their meaning. They all originated somewhere, just think it's interesting to know sometimes....👍

I’ve seen Motley Crue in concert 4 times over the years. One before they got cleaned up and twice with replacement drummers ( Randy Castillo and Samantha Maloney) when Tommy decided to do Methods Of Mayhem and once when I was living in Las Vegas. They were doing the Generation Swine tour. Before they got cleaned up they used to bring out a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and Nikki and Tommy would drink straight from the bottle,on stage , in the middle of the concert, and Tommy Lee had his drum set that flipped upside down on purpose during his drum solo. The rest of the band is Vince Neil ( vocals) Mick Mars( guitar and in this video voice box) Nikki Sixx(bass guitar)

In 1992 they released the album Motley Crue. Vocalist Vince Neil had been fired and they brought in John Corabi from The Scream. The album was much heavier with harder guitar solos. Split the fans. Many hated it and many loved it. If you want to check it out look up songs like Smoke The Sky, Uncle Jack.and Misunderstood
