Sophie I love your London shopping vlogs. My husband and I lived in London for a year for post grad studies (me at UCL he at Southampton) many many years ago, and while I don't want to overly romanticise London which as with every city has problems of its own, we genuinely had a ball of a time. We were supposed to return last year for a family trip but of course that was upended by the pandemic. Really looking forward to borders reopening, so we can take both our kids to our old haunts. On a separate note, I adore your new Goyard bag! I am such a fan of Goyard and their sensible design and impeccable craftsmanship. We are so lucky to have a Goyard boutique here in Singapore (along with Faure Le Page which I think you will love too!). I love when you speak to the younger generation about finishing college/university and either can’t find a job or getting stuck in a job that’s stressful or not satisfying. I have many friends/family who’s children are going through this or have gone through this. They spend years in school focused on a major only to get into the real world and not find a job in their field. They take jobs when they can and are underpaid, unfulfilled and are dealing with anxiety. I’ve mentioned you to them and of course from my husband and my own journeys try to encourage them. Things will get better but you have to be patient. I also know of young people that have gone in several different directions as things aren’t always what they’ve imagined. I’m all for finding a career that is exciting and satisfying as we spend decades of our lives working and it can be hell on earth if you don’t enjoy your career path.

Hi Sophie. The road trip your friend wrote to you about is very similar to the sort of trip we do in Australia, when travelling between the capital cities by road. After many such childhood trips, the novelty wore off for me and I now prefer aeroplanes! But the memory of the trips can be very nostalgic. I love this vlog. The last time I was in London in 2019, I had a "Sophie Shohet day out" alone since my husband wanted to do a tour of a football stadium. I put on my Baume und Pferdgarten leopard dress, boots, Balenciaga sunglasses, LV bag and leather jacket and walked from our hotel on Gloucester Road to Harrods. I had a look around Dior and a good browse around cosmetics and perfumes. Then I walked to Goyard (which was kind of farther than I thought it was) and the street it was on was really cute. I stood in line to get in, looked around, but didn't buy anything because I didn't see anything I wanted. I really like the bag you got, though!

Sophie, seeing your videos makes me want more and more to move to London whenever I get a new job and make more money. Once I have enough, and could get a job in London, I'd love to move there. Seeing the buildings and homes helps in a way but also gives me something to work towards - something to see and imagine. I love it. Seriously though...seeing your videos, from the homes to the luxary goods and London itself, it's in large part the motivating factor in me planning to go for a certification as a paralegal. I plan to go for that so I can make more money and move to London....and so I can buy more nice things that I like. The whole point is to never stop progressing. The worst mistake is (and I’ve done it myself) to be in an employment that is stable, but not having a chance to move up for too long. The longer you stay on an average salary the longer it will take to move up. We all should move towards progress in careers that is the only chance to get earnings up. It’s never too late. I’m 39 and still moving up. Get the certifications, job courses etc whatever to prove your skills even volunteering helps to achieve more. Never give up!

Oh my god mascara under the eyes is the bane of my life! I have genetic dark circles under the eyes as well so I think it has a lot to do with the amount of concealer I have to put on. Love that you use the maybelline fit me powder, it's so good! Loved the vlog

Hi. I just got the other model with the wood parts in front. I have not use it yet but the difference with the soft you got is the closure. The one with the wood in front is to offer support so it doesn’t indent inwards when you are going to close it and gives more support. I was told of this and reviews I’ve seen in YT but also the SA here in Miami mentioned as soon as I asked to see the soft one. Its soooo gorgeous and unique. Love the uniqueness of it. Congrats. Consider the mini with the wood supports it makes a huge difference. I’m also considering the clutch with wood

In the States the distances between places are so great and the speed limits so low that you often have to drive entire days just to visit friends and relatives. So yes, we do often drive for hours and hours through the widest of landscapes and stay at a motel after visiting and then drive back home the next day. Many holidays get moved to a Monday or Friday to accomodate this part of our lives.
