Except one year for us. We skied one of Queenstown’s most pathetic seasons whilst Falls and Hotham (where we usually skied) had one of their best seasons ever!

Yep …. that’s what happens if you let aussies on the slopes 😂😂😂 I am Swiss, so skiing is a given, but a have given the slopes (and the kooks) a miss for the last 30 years. I go touring instead, you know: Walking up the mountain first on your skis until you’re totally knackered and then ski downhill…and yes I did have ACL repair…..

This is probably how a couple of relatives of mine would explain skiing. My great paternal uncle was a cross-country ski he accidentally ran into a rock or tree and died on the Mount Buffalo ski field in the late 1980s. His de facto wife is a ski instructor and their daughter manages to bet a couple Canadians in a junior ski competition. They were pretty surprises an Australian can bet them.

Hahahaha - the first time I ever went skiing, on the second night I prayed God would make my legs not work so I could get out of it. By the fifth day (we were from Qld) I was hooked and keen to come back the following year.

I went skiing once on a school trip. Only time I have been skiing. Many hours on the bus because the highway was closed. I cannot remember if it was closed because of fires or landslide. On the way home the breaks on the bus failed so spent ages outside Maccas waiting for a new bus to take us the rest of the way home. Took forever to get there. Took forever to get home. Remember that more then the actual skiing.
